Patrick Mahomes is looking to lead the Kansas City Chiefs back to the promised land, having already found success in his NFL career.

Mahomes, who has led the Chiefs to five AFC titles and three Super Bowl victories, is preparing for his ninth season in the NFL.
As the Chiefs quarterback works through the offseason, he received bad news in terms of investments outside the white lines.
While Mahomes is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, he also has built a massive business portfolio.
Mahomes previously spoke on his desire to bring and invest in a WNBA team in Kansas City.
On Monday, the league announced expansion teams in the following cities: Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia.
Despite Kansas City having bid on an opportunity to bring a team to the city, Mahomes and the rest of the investment group that planned to work in the WNBA atmosphere were denied.

"Other cities that bid on teams that didn't get them include St. Louis; Kansas City, Mo.; Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Houston; Miami; Denver; and Charlotte, N.C," posted Vanshay Murdock, a videographer and WNBA social media presence.
Patrick Mahomes previously spoke with ESPN, where he shared his desire to bring a WNBA team to Kansas City.
"It was cool that we were able to get this soccer team, this women's soccer team here in the Current and they're going into the playoffs now and you see the support that they have," Mahomes said in October 2024. "So let's try to get a WNBA team in here as well [with] that same ownership group. They've done the Current the right way, and I want to continue to work with them to take that next step and get a WNBA team here."

Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are already invested in the women's sports community in Kansas City. They're co-owners of the Kansas City Current, the city's NWSL team.

The first day of July marks Bobby Bonilla Day, an annual celebration of one of the strangest deals in the history of Major League Baseball. Bonilla, a six-time All-Star who played his last game in 2001, has been receiving a $1.19 million check from the New York Mets every year since 2011, the result of a decision 25 years ago to delay paying the $5.9 million they owed him. Chris Dudley's basketball camp helps kids with diabetes
CORBETT, Ore. (KOIN) — Thirty years ago, Chris Dudley had a vision to help kids with Type 1 diabetes push beyond their limits. Now his gives those kids a shot at something bigger, something Dudley had to push for himself. He was the first NBA player with Type I diabetes during his playing career. Dudley was 16 when he was diagnosed in 1981. The brings kids together from around the world, helping them to take on the daily challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes while learning basketball — and building lasting connections. Ethan Hawke, Russell Crowe starring in 1930s Oregon-set film Rose Gallagher, 17, is a 4-time camper from Washington state. She said it's the community at the camp that makes all the difference. 'It's been really special because we get to be around other people that go through the same struggles and, like, know exactly what we're dealing with on a daily basis,' Gallagher told KOIN 6 News. 'It's just gotten easier over the years.' that stops your body from making insulin. Diabuddies — as they are affectionately called — have to manage their blood sugar with daily shots or a pump. 'The technology is night and day' to help manage the disease daily then it was back then, Dudley said. The latest technology, like small devices that deliver insulin automatically, make managing diabetes more seamless than ever. But the one thing that will remain are the bonds formed at the basketball camp. 'It makes a big, big difference,' Dudley said. ' I would have loved this as a player.
