5 Tennessee Titans games named 'the least watchable' of 2025 season

USA Today5 hours ago

When the NFL released the regular season schedule for 2025, many were shocked that the Tennessee Titans would not play any primetime games. While the league's spokesperson outlined the reasoning for this, it was still a bit of an outlier as compared to past league history.
Of course, with no one knowing what to expect from the Titans in 2025, keeping them out of primetime may be the safest way to go for the NFL and the networks, who rely on viewership and advertising as part of their revenue stream.
With many analysts predicting another horrid season ahead, the current excitement could easily disappear if the losses begin to pile up.
Even before the start of the season, multiple Titans matchups have been named among the league's least watchable games. The matrix used analyzed every game, filtering it through an algorithm based on win-loss disparity, Super Bowl odds, and initial point spreads, and then allowed the computers to do their work.
Giants, Browns, Titans Top 'Bottom' List
The New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans each appear 5 times on our Top 25 Least Watchable Games list this season.
Three Week 18 games fill out the bottom of the list. The Tennessee Titans game at Jacksonville in Week 18 rates as the least watchable of all the 272 NFL games this season. The Carolina Panthers game across the state of Florida during Week 18 and the in-state rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns are close behind.
When it's all over, the Titans will join the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns with five games on top of the least watchable games list on their schedule. That includes the league's least watchable game of the season, as released by their computers, the Week 18 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The other least watchable games are against the Arizona Cardinals (Week 5), Las Vegas Raiders (Week 6), and San Francisco 49ers (Week 15). Ironically, all Titans road games in 2025, an incredible feat for a team that hasn't won a home game in regulation since the 2023 season.
Luckily, there are many things that must still play out before the first snap is taken this year, and things will change across the league. There are still player additions, injuries, and a myriad of other questions that must be answered during training camp before an accurate assessment can be made, especially for a young team like the Titans.
Right now, this should be viewed as more bulletin board material as they prepare for the season.

Jets owner Woody Johnson buys stake in Premier League's Crystal Palace

Woody Johnson is going international. The New York Jets owner has become a familiar face across the pond in recent years, having previously served as the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom during President Donald Trump's first administration. As the NFL's international marketing rights have expanded, teams began vying for exclusive shares of specific markets. Advertisement Johnson's Jets were awarded marketing rights to the UK, making it the green-and-whites' second home under the NFL Global Markets program. Eight other teams have those rights. Now Johnson is digging into the world's game, buying a stake in the Premier League's Crystal Palace. The move was announced by the soccer team on Monday, with ESPN reporting the 43% stake owned by John Textor was sold to Johnson for $254 million. 'Whilst the completion is pending approval from the Premier League and Women's Super League, we do not envisage any issues and look forward to welcoming Woody as a partner and director of the club,' the club said in a statement. Advertisement The sale will have to pass the league's Owners and Directors' Test, something that isn't expected to be a problem. Johnson bought the Jets for $635 million in 2000, an NFL record at the time. He now adds a second professional sports franchise to his portfolio, a trend that is becoming increasingly commonplace across pro sports. Johnson is set to join a Crystal Palace ownership group that includes Washington Commanders owners, Josh Harris and David Blitzer – who each own 18% of the club. The Jets owner previously attempted to buy Chelsea F.C. in 2022, noting he became a fan of the team during his time as ambassador. Now it appears Johnson will be trading in his Chelsea blue for Palace's red-and-blue. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Crystal Palace ownership: New York Jets' Woody Johnson buys stake

Netflix's 'Quarterback' trailer stars Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins ahead of season two release date

Netflix's "Quarterback" series is back, and some big names agreed to take part in the documentary. Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins will be the focus of the second season of the program, Netflix revealed in a trailer Monday. The trailer features Burrow talking about the longevity of the great quarterbacks, Goff talking about living up to high expectations after leaving the Los Angeles Rams and Cousins taking about the Atlanta Falcons taking Michael Penix in the NFL Draft. It marks the second appearance on the program by Cousins, who was featured on the first season of the series. At the time, Cousins was still a member of the Minnesota Vikings. The first season of "Quarterback" focused on Cousins leading the Vikings to a first-place finish in the NFC North. Advertisement While Burrow and Goff should provide excellent moments, Cousins may be the most intriguing quarterback featured in season two. After sustaining an Achilles injury during the 2023 season, Cousins joined the Falcons on a four-year, $180 million deal in the offseason. He struggled in his return, throwing 18 touchdowns against an NFL-leading 16 interceptions. That performance got Cousins benched in favor of Penix during the final three games of the regular season. "Quarterback" will presumably cover that entire storyline, and feature never-before-seen footage of Cousins reacting and responding to those developments. Advertisement The first season of "Quarterback" was received well by fans, but Omaha Productions, which produces the series, had trouble finding quarterbacks willing to be filmed for season two of the program. As a result, Omaha Productions pivoted to "Receiver" ahead of the 2024 NFL season. After a year away, Omaha Productions was able to convince Burrow, Cousins and Goff to take the plunge. With the three quarterbacks announced, Netflix also dropped the release date for "Quarterback" on Monday. The program will air July 8 on Netflix. It's unclear how many episodes will make up season two. The first season of "Quarterback" lasted eight episodes.
