No7 is a longstanding beauty brand that many know and love – not least because of the impressive beauty vaults from the label, but the new Pro Artist Weightless Silk Sheer Foundation.
Last month No7 expanded its luxury make-up range, Pro Artist, to include the new Weightless Silk Foundation to its ever-growing collection, which I have been trialling behind the scenes to see if it delivers. In short: it does.
While I am a Beauty Editor of over a decade and have sampled various foundations in my time, it is not a staple in my make-up kit. Instead, if I am heading to the office, events or more formal occasions I prefer the sheer coverage, lightweight texture and subtle hint of colour, a tinted moisturiser provides. But, I think I may have met my match with the new Pro Artist Weightless Silk Sheer Foundation.
Yes, the title is a bit of a mouthful, so we'll abbreviate it to the Weightless Silk Foundation, but it does exactly what it says on the tin. This foundation is featherweight, it blends seamlessly into the skin, leaves a velvet soft finish that isn't too cakey, greasy or 'done', and it offers a sheer coverage for that 'your skin but better' look. Tick, tick, tick!
This foundation is a make-up and skincare hybrid.Infused with brightening vitamin C, soothing vitamin E and hydrating hyaluronic acid. It offers sheer coverage, which is easy to blend into the skin, velvet-soft, non-greasy, buildable and longlasting. Available in 12 shades. BUY NOW FOR £19.95
The foundation is a make-up and skincare hybrid as the formula is enriched with vitamins C, E, as well as hyaluronic acid. Not only does the foundation work to brighten the skin on the surface, but the skin-loving ingredients achieve this on a deeper level too as vitamin C is known for its brightening properties, hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin, while vitamin E is soothing on the skin.
The foundation is ultra-lightweight in the skin, breathable and doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky, greasy. In fact, I would say it leaves a second skin feel, which is what I love about a tinted moisturiser.
While it offers sheer coverage, it is enough to conceal any blemishes, redness, uneven skin tone, blur the skin, as well as brighten my tired and grey skin.
What also impressed me was no matter how much of the liquid foundation I applied it absorbed into the skin easily, yet didn't look cakey, even if I accidentally applied too much.
I sampled Cool Ivory and Cool Vanilla as I can be between skin tones, especially if I have fake tan on my face or have been in the sun. But both colours suited my skin tone and blended into my natural skin tone easily I couldn't tell the difference. So, if you are unsure on the best shade for your skin you don't have to panic buy every shade, which is much more cost effective. More Trending
The foundation sits beautifully on bare skin, over moisturiser and other skincare products, but also under make-up.
As the Weightless Foundation offers sheer coverage I was dubious how longlasting this product would be, and if it would live up to its 24-hour staying power. But it's safe to say this foundation didn't budge from morning til night when the UK was hit with a heatwave, which says a lot.
I know I don't often want to layer make-up onto my skin in the summer, especially not a thick foundation, but this No7 Pro Artist Weightless Silk Foundation is a saving grace in those instances – well, all year round for that matter. Safe to say No7 has pulled it out the bag with its latest drop, which is now an essential in my make-up kit for the summer, and every season after.
Plus, you can't go wrong for £19.95, though stay tuned as Boots Big Summer Sale could see the price drop – who knows?

I got to see Ozzy's last gig thanks to Metro - it was the best day of my life

Ian Burnip was sitting in hospital receiving chemotherapy when he made one last ditch attempt to see Ozzy Osbourne live. The 38-year-old had been excited for months to see his Black Sabbath idol at their last ever concert at Birmingham's Villa Park Stadium on July 5. Ian, who uses a wheelchair and suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, however learnt just days before that he would not be able to attend the gig with the standing ticket he bought due to 'health and safety' policy. After trying desperately to be allowed to watch the show, he got in contact with Metro, who made sure he saw the famous musician one last time. The heavy metal artist died on Tuesday after a devastating battle with Parkinson's over the last few years. With his health in decline, Ozzy planned to bring his acclaimed career to an end at the Villa Park show earlier this month. Back in February, Ian was unable to get accessible tickets to the final concert due to a huge waitlist. So instead the Aston Villa season ticket holder paid over £500 for a standing ticket for him and an aid through the club's presale scheme. As a regular visitor to the club and someone who worked there as a TV producer, Ian had believed the pitch was accessible and that he would be fine to attend with a standing ticket. But after months of anticipation following his breast cancer diagnosis in November, he was shell shocked just three days before the gig when Aston Villa sent out information saying mobility aids were banned from the pitch for health and safety reasons. Ian told us: 'It was like being stabbed in the heart. 'They are a band that my dad, who passed away a couple of years ago, had introduced me to. 'I was looking forward to this being a special treat that I had lined up in my life. And it was snatched away by this policy right at the last minute.' Ian desperately rung up Aston Villa but claims he was told that the concert's promoters Live Nation were responsible for the health and safety restrictions. But when he contacted Live Nation, they told him health and safety was the venue Villa Park's responsibility. Metro has seen an email from Live Nation to Ian, where the promoter says that. Running out of options and worn out due to the chemotherapy, he got in touch with us the night before the show to raise awareness of his plea for a seat to the show. Ian said: 'They made an access adjustment for Ozzy Osbourne so he can do the gigs, but they can't make an access adjustment for me to go the venue and see the show. 'I'd spent 48hrs fighting for access, a reasonable adjustment. 'It looked like I would miss out on this important memory – yet another gig I couldn't get to because of a lack of accessible facilities.' Once we heard from Ian we contacted both Live Nation and Aston Villa with his story and asked what could be done. That is when it all changed. Ian explained: 'Then Metro took on the case and heard my story – while I was sitting getting chemo treatment! 'Within an hour I had tickets which I could use, and was one of no more than 70 lucky wheelchair users who would witness an historic moment in music history.' He was also thankful for last minutes adjustments of all involved, including Villa and Live Nation, for finding him a space. 'I will be forever grateful that they sorted it out, and enabled me to attend,' Ian added. Because of this adjustment, Ian got to see Ozzy Osbourne's star-studded last performance. As his band put on a stunning performance, he made an arrival on stage in a black throne with a bat on the top before belting out some of his best-known heavy metal hits. Known as the Prince of Darkness, he said 'let the madness begin' at the beginning of the show as his wife Sharon and daughter Kelly watched on from the crowd. Throughout the performance, Ozzy repeatedly thanked the 42,000 fans who had come to watch him sing. At one point, he was even heard saying 'you have no idea how I feel', as the crowd cheered him on. Just as the gig was closing, Ozzy gave fans one heartbreaking final message. The singer said: 'It's the last song ever. Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.' Metro is also the official media partner of 2026 Scope Awards that will take place next year. Every year, the charity puts out a call for anyone who thinks they might have a friend, family member, colleague, neighbour, or celebrity they think is worthy of a nomination for the awards. The awards aim to not only celebrate the work of the disabled community but also to try and raise awareness of the issues faced by disabled people every day. These are the nine categories: Media Moment – an impactful media moment that has helped shift attitudes on disability · Celebrity Role Model – a disabled public figure that uses their platform to affect change · Social Media Influencer – an influencer who uses their online channels to speak out about disability equality · Purple Pioneer – someone who raises awareness of disability or works to change attitudes in their community · Community Group – a community group or organisation that brings people together to create meaningful change in their local area · Local Service – a local service, business or social enterprise that makes a lasting difference for disabled people · Colleague Network – a colleague network or employee resource group that makes the workplace more inclusive of disabled people · Workplace Champion – someone who champions disability inclusion or breaks down barriers in the workplace · Customer Inclusion – an organisation that removes barriers and makes life more accessible for disabled people For more details about the awards and how to nominate someone please visit Speaking after the music legend's death, Ian said the final concert was momentous and that he cherished it more because of the last minute drama around getting a ticket. He said: 'I was like a kid at Christmas, having not allowed myself to get too enticed by what seemed for a host of reasons to be a pipe dream. More Trending 'It was a special day, one that I will never forget. The whole thing was superbly crafted to make it a meaningful, momentous event which spoke to people from all walks of life, as members of the metal family.' 'I was heartbroken when I saw that Ozzy had died. But at least I was able to see him and Sabbath one last time, especially as a Brummie and a Villa fan, at Villa Park.' Metro approached Live Nation and Aston Villa for comment on July 4 but did not receive a response when they then arranged accessible seating for Ian. Metro has approached them again for additional comment for this article. Got a story? Will there be a season 3 of The Sandman? Latest news as season 2 ends

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page Today marks the highly anticipated drop of the last remaining episodes of The Sandman season 2. Fans were devastated to discover that this will be the last ever instalment of the hit show. Netflix has already announced that this will be the last we see of Dream (Tom Sturridge). The announcement came in the wake of serious sexual assault allegations made against the show's co-developer and writer, Neil Gaiman. Often referred to as Stranger Things' long-lost brother, the Netflix series has received great reviews – and has a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. The second season focuses on love and loss as Dream looks to rebuild everything he has lost since season one. Will there be a season 3 of The Sandman? Fans were gutted to discover this is the last ever season of the popular dark drama (Picture: Netflix) Well, if that information didn't solidify the answer for you… No, there won't be a Sandman season three. Dream's adventures come to an end today, as the streaming service releases the final five episodes. The Sandman's showrunner, Allan Heinberg, did not mention Gaiman nor the allegations when he shared a statement on behalf of the show's conclusion. 'The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream's story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season,' he told Netflix's Tudum. Many fans were left confused after Heinberg's statement, as The Sandman comic has 75 issues – which seems a lot to squeeze into two seasons. Still, it's not all bad news. On July 31, Netflix will release a special episode focused on Dream's sister Death, which will serve as an epilogue of sorts to the show. How many episodes of The Sandman are there? Dream suffers many complex relationships and encounters throughout the season (Picture: Netflix, Inc./Ed Miller. All Rights Reserved) There are 22 episodes across two seasons of The Sandman (that's eleven in each season). Netflix dropped the series in two halves, keeping viewers hanging on that cliff. The first six episodes of the new season dropped on July 3, with the following five landing on Netflix today. Comic fans will be gutted to learn that this is the last they will see of the Mortals, Dreams, Endless and Other beings. Who is in the cast of The Sandman? There has been lots of controversy surrounding the series due to serious allegations against the co-developer and writer, Neil Gaiman (Picture:) Tom Sturridge leads the cast as Dream, AKA The Sandman, who is responsible for watching over all of humanity as they sleep. In these tumultuous episodes, Dream attempts to rebuild his kingdom as he embarks on his epic final journey. The cast all work tightly together to ensure dreams run smoothly, with many dark twists and turns. The Sandman cast Dream – Tom Sturridge Lucienne – Vivienne Acheampong Matthew the Raven – Patton Oswalt The Corinthian – Boyd Holbrook Desire – Mason Alexander-Park Nada – Umulisa Gahiga Fate mother – Nina Wadier Fate Crone – Souard Faress Fate Maiden – Denita Gohil Death – Kirby (Formerly Kirby Howell-Baptiste) Lucifer Morningstar – Gwendoline Christie Rose Walker – Kyo Ra How are fans reacting to The Sandman season 2 part 2? Will the latest drop of episodes live up to fans' expectations?(Picture: COURTESY OF NETFLIX) Fans can't believe this is the last they will see of The Sandman cast as the streaming service has cancelled any possibility of a following season – despite its immense success. Some Sandman fans were gutted to learn that this would be the last release of the much-loved comic book adaptation. @waste-snow23 on Reddit said: 'I'm so so sad about this. I waited so many years for this adaptation. I understand why it was cancelled, but I loved the Sandman series dearly.' Don't let the Gaiman allegations ruin the dream... Our Deputy TV Editor, Tom Percival, shares his thoughts on The Sandman Season 2 Part 1… 'We do not choose to be created, nor do we choose how we are made.' In the first season of The Sandman on Netflix, these words are uttered by Lord Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), otherwise known as Dream. In the context of the show, Dream is referring to everyone's lack of agency in their inception. It's essentially a slightly pretentious way of saying 'you can't help where you come from'. Going into season 2, Morpheus's words feel especially apt due to the large shadow cast over the show by its co-creator, Neil Gaiman. While Gaiman denies the allegations, I understand why people may not want to watch the show. However, I believe so much more to the series than one man. In my opinion, The Sandman season two is every bit as beguiling, bold and brilliant as the first, managing to somehow elevate the source material. To take this back to the opening quote, Dream can't help who made him. So maybe we shouldn't let the circumstances of his creation rob us of arguably the best fantasy series Netflix has ever made. Read the full Sandman Season 2 review here. 'A big step up from Season 1. Kind of makes me sad that this is the last one.' @certainalbatross added. Other viewers were glad to see the demise of Gainman's emperor, @brat-sampsin98 said: 'He doesn't deserve to earn a penny. I'm glad he's seeing his legacy destroyed.' Fans noted that the streaming service's decision to axe the show was the right move considering the severity of the allegations made, but others felt for the cast who may have wished to tell the full story and have had their characters' journeys cut short. @ithinkther41am on Reddit said: 'It's really a shame Gaiman turned out to be a monster, because this was clearly a labour of love for everyone involved.' The Sandman is available to watch now on Netflix. Got a story? (Picture: Netflix) Although there is currently no news on whether Untamed will be returning to our screens for a second season, the numbers are definitely looking positive for Eric and the gang. Shedding light on what more episodes could possibly involve, co-showrunner Elle Smith told TV Insider: 'If we got the opportunity to do it again, it would be getting to explore a different park, a different case. 'We would do this forever if they let us, but we'll see. We'll see how many adventures Turner has left in him.' Untamed is available to stream on Netflix now. Got a story?
