And his cruel words had a lasting effect, with it taking her months to claw back some body confidence.
During the episode, Alex revealed: 'I was in a relationship with somebody who shamed my body and made me feel worthless.
'[They] made me feel like I wasn't sexy and I wasn't attractive, and it was like an effort to have sex.
'I was paranoid then about being naked and I'd walk around covered up.
'It was not a good relationship to be in.
'In fact, it was hideous.'
Alex co-hosts Date. Delete Repeat with Danni Menzies, 36, who previously hosted A Place In The Sun,
She continued that it 'took a while' for her to be sexually intimate with somebody else after the relationship and not feel like she needed to cover up.
'Then I slept with somebody who made me feel literally incredible,' she said.
'It really healed a part of me that was really damaged - and it was through that confidence and that feeling that he gave me.
Alex and Danni's new podcast explores the highs, lows and everything in between when it comes to love and sex.
Every week, the ladies will sit down and reveal what they've got up to, as they swipe, flirt and flail through the chaos that is dating.
And no topic's off limits for them - "I'll be opening up about everything from my sex life to masturbation – and I won't be holding back,' Alex told.
The very first episode of Date. Delete. Repeat dived into dating standards, saucy nicknames and receiving unsolicited d**k pics.
In this week's episode, they discussed body confidence, with Danni opening up that, for a while, she was 'so self conscious' of her body, particularly when it came to sex.
'I was so self conscious… just of everything,' she said.
'I wasn't sure if things looked the way they should and I was just so deeply insecure.'
Danni estimates that she became body confident around the age of 30.

YouTube has stopped working on 5 popular phones - so, is your device on the list?
It's the go-to video app for millions of people around the world. But if you use YouTube, you might want to check that the app is still running on your smartphone. The Google-owned app has quietly updated its iOS app to version 20.22.1, and now requires iOS 16 or later to install and run. That means several older iPhone models are no longer compatible with the app. The affected devices are those that cannot upgrade beyond iOS 15. So that's the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and the first-generation iPhone SE. Alternatively, if you have an iPod Touch 7, you won't be able to watch YouTube on that either. The news has not gone down well across social media, with one user venting: 'My iphone 6s is slowly becoming obselete.' It's the go-to video app for millions of people around the world. But if you use YouTube , you might want to check that the app is still running on your smartphone YouTube quietly made the change in version 20.22.1, which was released on 2 June. On the App Store, YouTube describes this version as having 'bug fixes, performance improvements, and more cat videos.' However, in the fine print, it also now states that it requires iOS 16.0 or later to run on iPhone, as well as iPad 16.0 or later to run on iPad. Unfortunately, that means the app has been discontinued for the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4. Several disgruntled users have taken to X to discuss the news. 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PLANET I HAVE AN IPHONE 6S,' one user asked. Another wrote: 'This is strange because the YouTube app is just streaming video from a server, and many devices with much less power can still do that fine.' And one joked: 'What a long ride its been, iPhone 6S,' alongside the saluting emoji. However, others were quick to point out a sneaky loophole - watching YouTube on Safari, rather than through the app. 'When stuck you could always just use YouTube on safari like god intended,' one user suggested. Another added: 'I've never used the app. Always from browser.' To make sure you can still use YouTube on your phone, it is essential that you update to at least iOS 16 or higher - even if you are using a newer, compatible device. To check which operating system you are currently using, simply open the Settings app, select General, and tap on the 'About' tab. Under the heading 'Version' you will be able to see the currently installed iteration of iOS. If you do need to update your iPhone, from Settings navigate to the tab labelled 'General' and select 'Software Update'. If a newer version of iOS is available, you can press 'Install Now' to begin the update. To ensure you always get the latest software and security updates, you can also consider activating automatic updates by selecting 'Automatic Updates' on the 'Software Update' page.

'Love Island USA' contestant exits after clips of racist language surface online
Yulissa Escobar will not be finding love in the villa on Season 7 of "Love Island USA." The 27-year-old from Miami exited the show on the second day after video clips surfaced online that appear to show Escobar using racist language while on a podcast. In two podcast clips shared by TMZ, Escobar used racial slurs when talking about men and relationship drama. Escobar's abrupt exit was not given any context on the show. "Welcome back to Love Island USA," series narrator Iain Stirling said at the top of day two, which aired Wednesday. "Yulissa has left the villa." Although it is unclear exactly when Escobar left the show's villa in Fiji, she was last shown sleeping during the first night with 22-year-old Ace Greene, with whom she coupled up during the first episode. Escobar coupled up with Greene after he was already paired up with another contestant, Chelley Bissainthe. It is also unclear if Escobar was edited out of the show. "Love Island USA" is streaming on Peacock, which NBCUniversal owns. Peacock confirmed to NBC News that Escobar left the villa, but did not offer specific details on the reason for her departure. Escobar, who owns a mobile bar in Miami, has not yet publicly spoken on the backlash. She last shared photos from the first day in the villa on her Instagram story on Wednesday night. She did not immediately respond to an NBC News request for comment. During cast introductions shared on YouTube, Escobar revealed she was in a 9-year relationship prior to coming on the show. Her mother was born in Cuba, and her father was born in Missouri. "I could be fire, so don't play with fire because you might burned, baby," Escobar said in a clip shared on Instagram.
