Former DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg co-leads $15.5M Series A for AI video ad platform
DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg's venture fund WndrCo co-led a $15.5 million Series A round for Creatify, an AI video ad platform.
Creatify's AdMax platform uses AI to quickly generate dozens of video advertisements, which are geared toward social media marketing -- AdMax analyzes high-performing social video campaigns on apps like TikTok and Instagram to shape its output.
Tech industry titans have been bullish on AI advertising. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently spoke about his ambitions to automate all of advertising with an AI ad tool, which would test thousands of ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads users.
This degree of automation may seem drastic, but it is not a foregone conclusion. While Katzenberg has been an entertainment industry executive since before DVDs were invented, his bets are not always correct -- he was also the founder of Quibi, the short video platform that infamously raised $1.75 billion and shut down six months later.

Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 4 (UPI) -- Singer and actress Teyana Taylor is back with her first single in five years. She released the song "Long Time" and its music video Wednesday. "I kept you inspired, I lent you my fire," she sings in the visual, wearing a red-splotched white gown. "You let me get tired." LaKeith Stanfield plays her husband in the video, while Aaron Pierre portrays an apparent detective. The song describes the singer's realization that she should have left her relationship a long time ago. "Long Time" will appear on the music artist's upcoming visual album, Escape Room, due in August. "Wow, it's really happening y'all," Taylor wrote in an Instagram post celebrating the new music. How the ‘Amateur Gourmet' Keeps the Freewheeling Fun of Food Blogging's Early Days
'I accidentally went to law school. I hated it with a fiery passion,' said Adam Roberts, aka the Amateur Gourmet. 'So I started cooking.' The food and TV writer, social media producer and, now, novelist has spent the two decades since building a loyal audience and teaching them, in turn, to cook. It started in 2004 with a blog called the Amateur Gourmet, which Roberts launched as a newsletter, as well, in 2010; he has developed a robust social media presence on Instagram and TikTok under the same banner. 'A lot of people who just seem like sweet little bloggers baking a pie, they know what's going on under the hood of their blogs. I never did,' Roberts said. 'I was just good at being entertaining and maybe strategic about writing a post that might go viral because it was funny or unique or creative.' Amateur is his brand, and he's sticking to it—though he's made plenty of pivots and reboots along the way.
