Sarah Campbell was presenting Monday's instalment of BBC Breakfast alongside Jon Kay, with the duo bringing TV viewers some 'sad news'
BBC Breakfast presenter Sarah Campbell made a 'sad' announcement during Monday's (11 August) episode of the show. She and co-host Jon Kay revealed news of a public figure's passing.

Sarah teamed up with Jon to present Monday's BBC Breakfast, with the host stepping in for regular presenter Sally Nugent.

Halfway through the programme, Sarah and Jon broke the news of Joan 'Biddy' Baxter's passing, with a special tribute to the former Blue Peter producer being broadcast.

"Some sad news this morning because the pioneering BBC television producer Biddy Baxter has died at the age of 92," Sarah informed BBC audiences.
Jon continued: "For more than a quarter of a century, she was in charge of Blue Peter, devising the format which turned it into the most successful children's programme on television."
He then passed over to the BBC's arts correspondent, David Sillito, who offered additional details about Biddy's career whilst various clips and images of the late star were displayed.

After the heartfelt tribute, Sarah and Jon reminisced about Blue Peter and discussed Biddy's legacy, reports the Express.
"What a legend of children's television. That programme, when I was growing up, it was all about Blue Peter," Sarah remarked, with Jon responding: "It really was, wasn't it? And, just that name, at the end of every episode, Biddy Baxter. You'd see it on the telly, wouldn't you?"

Sarah disclosed she'd once posted a drawing to Blue Peter, whilst Jon boasted about how he earned a Blue Peter badge. Wrapping up the segment, Jon remarked about Biddy: "She was absolutely ahead of her time."
Sarah concurred: "She really was, and she was in control of that programme."
Jon continued, "Yes, presenters talking about living in fear of hearing her heels going down the steps into the studio to brief them between items!"

Word of Biddy's passing emerged on Sunday, 10 August, with a statement posted on Facebook by Ten Acre Films, which released her biography last year.
The message stated: "We are sad to report that longtime Blue Peter Editor Biddy Baxter has died at the age of 92. We salute a true pioneer, who navigated changing times in the television industry with instinct, tenacity, and style."
Biddy was renowned for serving as Blue Peter's editor, taking charge in 1962 and transforming the TV programme into a beloved staple.

Taylor Swift shares emotional health update on dad Scott after major heart surgery

Taylor Swift has shared a major health update on her dad Scott, after he underwent a quintuple bypass procedure earlier this Summer Following months of eager anticipation, Taylor Swift fans were treated to a surprise on Wednesday night, when the pop superstar herself officially revealed all the details of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, during her appearance with boyfriend Travis Kelce on the New Heights podcast. ‌ Whilst the stunning twelve-track lineup and album artwork dominated discussions throughout the evening, the two-hour podcast was also filled with touching revelations about the singer's personal life, including the emotional moment she reclaimed ownership of her master recordings - and the enduring impact of the Eras tour. ‌ However, woven amongst the emotional whirlwind of revelations, came a significant health update regarding Taylor's father Scott, who underwent life-saving surgery after doctors discovered he had a serious heart condition requiring immediate treatment. ‌ "He is doing incredibly well," Taylor informed podcast host Jason Kelce when he asked about her dad. "My dad had an interesting Summer. He recently had a quintuple bypass surgery and that's a really intense surgery. It all happened really quick. "He's had a healthy, perfect, EKG every year he's gone in to get his physicals - but what found his five heart blockages was a resting stress test. So he's been telling all his friends, 'You need to get this stress test' because that's what's actually preventative. If you can find that earlier, you don't actually have to have a bypass surgery, you can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive.", reports the Express. Taylor subsequently disclosed the seriousness of her father's health situation, explaining that he was scheduled for surgery just a day after discovering his heart blockages. However, in typical fatherly fashion, he didn't want his family to worry or rush to his side. Despite this, Taylor ignored his wishes and hurried to his bedside to assist him during his recovery. This included some tough love when she had to take away his phone after he spent the entire night FaceTiming friends instead of resting after surgery! Determined not to leave him alone in case he needed anything, both Taylor and Travis moved in with him for the summer. With additional support from her mother and brother, they were able to help Scott make significant progress in his recovery.

Mary Berry's 'delicious' chicken lasagne can be whipped up in under 30 minutes

Mary Berry's chicken lasagne recipe is so quick and easy to rustle up that it can be on the table in under 30 minutes and it's creamy and delicious too Perfect for feeding the entire family, or for popping in the freezer for a later date, chicken lasagne is simple to prepare and cook. ‌ In her Mary Berry Cook and Share recipe book, the legendary cook explained: "I've cheated with the white sauce and made a quick creamy sauce instead. There are fewer layers than in a traditional lasagne but it's still creamy and delicious." ‌ And she offers a professional cooking tip to make it taste even better: "Soaking the lasagne sheets in water first ensures they will cook quickly." It comes as Brooklyn Beckham is torn to shreds by royal chef for 'ridiculous' idea. ‌ Here's how to make Mary Berry's straightforward chicken lasagne recipe that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes, reports the Express. How to make chicken lasagne: Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan/gas six). Place the oil in a frying pan over a high heat. Add the chicken pieces and fry rapidly until golden but not cooked. Add the chilli, garlic and mushrooms and fry for a few moments. Add the spinach and stir until wilted. Measure the cornflour into a small bowl and stir in two tablespoons of water until smooth. Add the crème fraîche and parsley to the pan with the chicken and stir. Pour in the cornflour mixture and stir until thickened. To make the sauce combine the tomatoes, sun-dried tomato paste and thyme in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Soak the lasagne sheets in a shallow dish filled with boiling water for a few minutes until soft. Ladle a third of the chicken concoction into the oven dish, followed by a third of the tomato sauce. Place three lasagne sheets on top and repeat the layers. End with a final layer of chicken mixture and sauce. Dust the top with grated cheddar and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until it turns golden-brown and is thoroughly cooked. Serve alongside a fresh salad.

Josh received the ability to move someone's 'X' by 250km, which could effectively ensure their exit. Reacting to the game-changing news, he said: "I feel like I've got a lot of influence on the game, which I like having." Josh also didn't have to take part in the next challenge - but got to see a big clue alongside the winners. Elsewhere, he identified fellow players Nick, Judith and Claire as potential targets for sabotage. Although Josh seemingly planned to choose Nick, viewers will have to learn the outcome. Destination X viewers slam show for being 'too easy' after they guess location - as contestant makes huge clue blunder This episode ended on a tense cliffhanger - with Rob having dropped a huge bombshell. Namely, that the bottom two players' X markers were only 600 metres apart. One viewer wrote online: "The sabotage is not fair." Whether Nick - who was identified by the others as the biggest threat - has his exit sealed or survives to play on remains to be seen. Viewers will also have to wait to discover where exactly the latest Destination X is. Players and fans alike seem to agree it's Italy, but are divided on the precise spot.
