Inter Milan Captain Draws Comparison Between Former & New Managers: 'Similar Ideas But With Some New Elements'
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez admits Simone Inzaghi and Cristian Chivu share a similar approach, albeit with minor differences.
Speaking to La Repubblica via FCInterNews, El Toro drew comparisons between the two managers.

Al-Hilal signed Simone Inzaghi only days after Paris Saint-Germain tore Inter apart in the Champions League.
However, Inter's painful defeat in Munich cast a shadow on the 49-year-old's otherwise successful tenure at the San Siro.
During his four-year stint at Inter, Inzaghi won several domestic trophies, including the 2023/24 Scudetto.
Furthermore, he steered the club to two Champions League finals in three years.
Therefore, it's fair to admit he had built a dynasty.
It's now up to Cristian Chivu to maintain Inzaghi's legacy and keep the club at the top of domestic and international football.
Despite being relatively new to senior management, Chivu had plenty of success as a player, particularly with Inter.

As such, there's optimism around the Nerazzurri camp that the Romanian will hit the ground running on his return.

It's hard to escape the proposition that Inzaghi turned Lautaro Martinez into the best version of himself.
Indeed, he built his entire Nerazzurri project around El Toro.
Considering Lautaro's household status, it's only natural to assume that he will remain the focal point under Chivu.
Meanwhile, the Argentine star has already spotted minor differences between the two managers' approach.
'The important thing is the fresh atmosphere, the new things – even if the ideas and the message are similar to Inzaghi's,' he said.

'What matters most is that we all give our best in this competition.
'There will definitely be some changes in the way we press, but we're working on it.
'There's not much time. Those who were with their national teams started 2–3 days later, even though it's still the same group as last year.
'But some youngsters have come back, and they'll give us a big boost.'

Inter Milan vs. Monterrey odds, predictions: FIFA Club World Cup picks, best bets Tuesday
Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. The last time we saw Inter Milan, it was walking off the pitch at the Allianz Arena in Munich after an embarrassing 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Final. It marked the second time in three years that this veteran-laden roster was on the losing side of the most important match of the European Soccer season. A little more than two weeks later, Inter heads to the Rose Bowl for its opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup against Monterrey. Inter is a -220 favorite to win Tuesday's match. Inter vs. Monterrey betting preview There's a massive talent gap between Inter Milan and Monterrey. Inter finished one point behind first-place Napoli in Serie A, was runner-up in the Champions League and made it to the semi-finals in the Coppa Italia. La Beneamata finished their domestic campaign with the fifth-best goal difference in Europe's Big 5 Leagues, and they were eighth in expected goal differential. By all accounts, Inter was one of the 10 best clubs in the world this past season. In a vacuum, you'd say this all points to a straightforward win for Inter on Tuesday against Monterrey, one of the top clubs in Liga MX. Monterrey doesn't have the depth that Inter boasts, but there are plenty of familiar names on this roster, most notably former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, former Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos, longtime Mexican internationals Hector Moreno and Jesus Corona and former Real Betis midfielder Sergio Canales. Inter's Federico Dimarco during the Champions League Final. AP Inter vs. Monterrey pick We've seen some terrific performances from the heavyweights in this competition out of the gates, but it's still fair to be skeptical of where Inter's level will be after a grueling European campaign was capped off in a demoralizing loss in Munich. Inter is a team that really leans into the physical side of the game, but if its not fully up for this tournament – or are just fatigued – it loses that edge. Monterrey could get played off the park in this one, but we'll take a shot at a big price and hope that Inter isn't firing Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
