Liverpool are reportedly going into hold transfer talks over the signing of a world-class centre-back after today. The Mail claim that Palace want £45m for Guehi's services, which seems a little steep considering his contract situation. Liverpool have been courting Guehi all summer and have held multiple discussions over bringing him to the club this summer. With the Community Shield out of the way, now they can now focus on trying to convince Palace to sell him.

Video: Thiaw ‘very happy with decision, ready for Newcastle United'
Malick Thiaw looks back on his favourite memory in the Milan jersey, but is 'very happy with my decision and ready for the Premier League' with Newcastle United. The defender spoke to Sky Sport Italia as he flew out for his medical tests, which will be performed tomorrow morning. It is going to be a permanent transfer for circa €40m including add-ons, although there are a few different versions in the media on how those will be spread out. I just want all the best for those people I spent time with here, the players, staff and medics.' Germany international Thiaw was asked for his favourite memory in the Milan jersey and looked to the showdown at San Siro with rivals Inter. 'It's difficult to choose, but I think when we were in the Champions League semi-final. That was incredible,' he replied. That did not go well, as the Rossoneri lost and Inter went on to lose the Final to Manchester City in 2023. 🚨📹 Malick Thiaw leaving Milan on his way to Newcastle: 'I want to thank everyone at AC Milan, I've learned a lot. The best memory? Our path to the UCL semifinal. Newcastle? Happy of this choise, I'm ready for the Premier League'. 🔴⚫️ #ACMilan #NUFC @SkySport — Luca Bendoni (@LucaBendoni) August 10, 2025 Thiaw had been on the verge of a move to Como for circa €25m earlier in the summer, but he turned it down because he saw this as a backwards step compared to Milan.
