Kartik Aaryan will begin shooting for Naagzilla after wrapping up his next with Anurag Basu in Sikkim and other nearby locations.
Kartik Aaryan created a lot of buzz when he announced his next film with Karan Johar titled Naagzilla. He will be playing the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. It's set to release in theatres on August 14, 2026. Well, now there is a fresh update. Anil Kapoor or Bobby Deol will be seen as the villain in the film. Yes, you are reading right. Bollywood Hungama has reported the news.
The entertainment portal has quoted a source saying, 'The script of Naagzilla warrants the presence of a senior actor in a negative role. Karan Johar has short-listed two names for the role – Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol – and now, Kartik will take the final casting call for Naagzilla. The entire cast of Naagzilla is being decided collaboratively, and Karan will now indulge in a discussion with Kartik and Mahaveer Jain to lock the antagonist."
'It's a tale of Icchadhari Naagin, and the villains' role is as important as that of a hero. Hence, the team is being cautious of who they lock for the film," the source added.
Reportedly, Kartik will be joined by a couple of more actors known for their impeccable comic timing, who will be playing pivotal parts in the film. While the second actor has already been locked, the makers are still on the lookout for the third face. A well-placed source tells us, 'In Naagzilla, Kartik will be sharing screen space with Ravi Kishan. This will mark their first-ever onscreen collaboration. Be assured that a lot of hilarious banter will ensue between the characters played by Kartik and Ravi."
The actor will begin shooting for Naagzilla after wrapping up his next with Anurag Basu in Sikkim and other nearby locations. For the unversed, Kartik and Karan were supposed to come together for Dostana 2 but it was later reported that Kartik is no longer a part of the film. Later, the production house issued a statement, saying that 'we will be recasting Dostana 2'.
As for Naagzilla, a while back, reports stated that Akshay Kumar was the first choice for Naagzilla but the superstar turned it down as he was not convinced with the conflict of snake vs human and didn't want to venture into the genre again after Jaani Dushman. Producers Mahaveer Jain and Karan had multiple rounds of meetings with Akshay, and when he finally backed off, they decided to reset the project with Kartik in the lead.

Aishwarya Rai refused to work with Aamir Khan in this blockbuster, earned Rs 400 crore, made Karisma Kapoor superstar; Movie is...

Aishwarya Rai and Aamir Khan—two titans of Indian cinema—have only shared screen space once, in Mela (2000). But that wasn't supposed to be their only collaboration. They were almost cast together in not one, but two significant films: Raja Hindustani (1996) and Mangal Pandey (2005). Director Dharmesh Darshan opened up about the missed opportunity in Raja Hindustani, a film that later went on to become a blockbuster. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he recalled, 'She was also my first choice for the role of Memsaab in Raja Hindustani (1996). My heart was with her. But she urgently had to go for Miss World. I didn't want to take any chances, as I wanted an actress who could devote her full time to the film and Bollywood. It was her sheer grace that she didn't hold it in her heart.' Meanwhile, another near-collaboration—this time in Josh—was sidestepped by a casting misread. Director Mansoor Khan said, 'I was intending to cast Aamir as the romantic lead opposite Aishwarya. But when I narrated the script to Aamir, he thought he was playing Max. Then I went to Shah Rukh; he was excited about Max. I narrated it to him; he suggested a lot of things for Max's character.' Raja Hindustani earned Rs 76.34 crore worldwide, including a domestic gross of Rs 73.84 crore. Its domestic nett was Rs 43.15 crore, and its adjusted worldwide gross is equivalent to Rs 400 crore. While these cinematic what-ifs remain part of industry lore, real-life speculations are currently casting a shadow over Aishwarya's personal life. Rumours of a split with Abhishek Bachchan have been circulating, especially after the Bachchan family's silence on Aishwarya's birthday this November 1st. Amidst the noise, an old interview with Filmfare has resurfaced, where she spoke about the reality of relationships behind the glamour, 'There's a lot of adjustment, a lot of give and take. There will be agreements and disagreements. But it's important to keep the communication going. That's something I've always believed in.' From missed roles to muted wishes, Aishwarya's timeline reads like a series of graceful exits—both scripted and unscripted.

He has harassed and troubled me a lot! No one will believe it (laughs).' However, after this fun joke, she immediately became serious and said, 'No, he was a great producer. I have to say this.' Kajol recalled a special conversation with Ajay, where they talked about gender roles. She said, 'My husband Ajay ji once told me that you are very lucky. You don't know how lucky you are. You can become Nysa's friend. You will also become a grandmother one day. You are a mother. You have been my wife. You have played all these roles very well and naturally. You did not have to make any special effort. But today, being a man, I have to work hard to play all these roles.' Kajol further said, 'Women are taught this since childhood. We adjust so easily.' Coming back to the trailer of Maa, this is the first horror movie of Kajol. Interestingly, the film is a mythological horror film.
