Jalen Ramsey announces Steelers trade with sick NFL Films-style clip
So where is he heading? On Monday, we learned it: he's going to be a Pittsburgh Steeler! He's joining a stacked secondary that has Darius Slay Jr., DeShon Elliott and Joey Porter Jr.
And of course the man who's always active on social media decided to break the news himself. How did he do it? With a pretty sick video that's in the style of NFL Films, complete with a baritone voice narrating: "Shut-down corner, relentless competitor, a walking chip on his shoulder with four wheels and no brakes."
That's pretty awesome.
Steelers and Jalen Ramsey trade details
The Steelers dealt Minkah Fitzpatrick, which is kind of wild.
We also know Ramsey is getting more money:
Wild stuff.
What position will Jalen Ramsey play for the Steelers?
Maybe he'll be a safety given that Fitzpatrick is out? No one has said for sure, but that could be a move if Ramsey has a lost a step since his prime.

Jalen Ramsey happy Dolphins traded him to team with 'a lot of respect for the head coach'
After two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Jalen Ramsey's time with the team ended with a divorce. Ramsey and the Dolphins agreed to part ways in April and, more than two months later, a trade got done that sent the seven-time Pro Bowler to the Pittsburgh Steelers. While no explicit reason for Ramsey's desire to play elsewhere was ever voiced, reports said he had an "irreparably broken" relationship with Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and the cornerback's social media suggested the same. Earlier this week, Ramsey seemed to continue to throw subtle shade at McDaniel when discussing the trade with Fred Taylor on "The Pivot" podcast. "I do appreciate the Dolphins and them working with me," Ramsey said. "Not just, 'hey, this team called and, you know, we're going to send you here.' ... Let's go to a team that's going to be able to compete. Let's go to a team where there's a lot of respect for the head coach." Respect for the head coach seems to have been the missing ingredient for Ramsey in Miami. Earlier in training camp, Dolphins tight end Tanner Conner told reporters that the team is better off now that "we've gotten some players out who might have not been as respectful." Who those players were is anyone's guess, but Ramsey seems to be at the top of the list of suspects. Ramsey also expressed regret on the podcast for angling to become a member of the Dolphins in the first place. "When I got traded from LA, I was literally praying to go to Miami, and it was probably not for all the right reasons," Ramsey said. "Obviously, football has always and will always be very important for me, but I also had other things in the back of my mind, too. Like, I want I want to live in a good city. I want my kids to enjoy life and, you know, be in the sun and have pools year round. I want my family to come to visit me." In exchange for Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-round pick, the Dolphins received safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick in return.

Jalen Ramsey says 'it ain't no gray area' in Pittsburgh Steelers training camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a busy offseason in 2025. The franchise kicked things off by trading a second-round pick to Seattle for wide receiver DK Metcalf before signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers to be their starter at the most important position in sports. Changes weren't limited to the offense, though. Pittsburgh traded away safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins for cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith in addition to a draft pick swap. Ramsey brings another veteran presence to the Steelers' secondary. He spoke on an episode of the "Pivot Podcast" with former NFL players Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder today about his experiences in Pittsburgh so far and his respect for Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. "All the essence of what football is about, he emphasizes it," Ramsey said. "Toughness, being well-conditioned... it ain't no gray area. It's black and white. This what we about around here. Were y'all tough today? Were you well conditioned? Were you running to the ball? Were you on your alignment, your assignment, your technique? Like, it ain't no excuses." Ramsey, a three-time first-team All-Pro, is entering his 11th season in the NFL. He spent the last two years in Miami and made the Pro Bowl in 2023 despite missing seven games. Prior to his stop in Miami, Ramsey played three and a half years in Los Angeles with the Rams. He was part of the team that won the Super Bowl in 2021. Pittsburgh lists him as the first-team nickel cornerback on the latest depth chart with Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay at the outside cornerback spots. Porter Jr. is the lone returning starter from last season when the Steelers had one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL (27th in yards allowed). Pittsburgh still made the playoffs as a 10-7 wild-card team and has its eyes set on another playoff berth with Rodgers at quarterback. The Steelers won their preseason opener against Ramsey's former team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, 31-25. They host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 of the preseason on Saturday, Aug. 16.
