Black Ops 6 Double XP Weekend Extended

Black Ops 6 Double XP Weekend Extended

Yahoo11-02-2025
Hasta la vista, baby — the Terminator isn't the only thing to get excited about in Black Ops 6. Developer Treyarch's planned double XP weekend is getting an extension after a massive PlayStation Network outage, with five days of double XP-fueled carnage becoming seven days -- a full week -- with the boost. The latest double XP weekend runs from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Anyone playing Black Ops 6 will have a universal double player XP, double weapon XP and double GobbleGum earn rate applied to their account during the event. There's no double battle pass XP boost in this event, likely because Black Ops 6 Season 2 is still so fresh and new — usually, double XP weekends later in the season apply this boost.
The latest double XP weekend has already started in Black Ops 6, which means you'll earn double XP in any multiplayer match or Zombies game you play right now.
The Terminator crossover event is also live now alongside the XP boosts, so players can take advantage of the double XP weekend to power level their accounts while collecting skulls to unlock the free goodies. Enterprising players might level up the new PPSh-41 SMG with double weapon XP and take advantage of the double drop rate to earn some of the new Dead Drop, Modified Chaos and Quacknarok GobbleGums.
Here's everything you need to know about this double XP weekend.
It's started. This double XP week kicked off on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. ET.
Not sure when the double XP week went live for you? Here's when this event started in your time zone:
ET: Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
CT: Feb. 6 at 12 p.m.
MT: Feb. 6 at 11 a.m.
PT: Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.
It's worth starting your game ahead of your gaming session, if possible — as with every Black Ops 6 patch, the update is going to require you to download new content and restart the application.
This patch adds double XP weekend and the Terminator crossover event simultaneously, so it'll likely be slightly bigger than the usual double XP weekend update.
Initially, the double XP weekend was supposed to run for five days, ending on Monday, Feb. 10. After the PlayStation Network service outage, the double XP weekend was extended by another two days, and will now end on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Your double XP tokens will once again unlock after this time.
Here's when the double XP weekend will end in your time zone:
ET: Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.
CT: Feb. 12 at 12 p.m.
MT: Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.
PT: Feb. 12 at 10 a.m.
Call of Duty Warzone has a double XP weekend running in tandem with Black Ops 6. That means Warzone players will also be able to benefit from the double player XP and double weapon XP.
New players have a chance to level up the weapons they unlock from the new and improved Warzone Armory, and returning players can continue unlocking new attachments for the suite of Black Ops 6 weaponry added to Warzone.
Alongside the first five days of double XP, Treyarch opened the floodgates to new players with a weekend-long free trial of Black Ops 6's multiplayer and zombies modes. This multiplayer free trial did not get the same extension that the double XP weekend did after the PlayStation Network outage.
The free trial had a focus on new season 2 content but also included fan-favorite maps and modes. Trial players were able to queue into matches on Nuketown, Stakeout and more than eight other maps — including the new Bounty and Dealership.
The core modes on offer were a little different this time around, too. Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Kill Order, Gunfight and Overdrive playlists were available, and free trial players interested in Zombies were able to mince the undead in Liberty Falls and the Tomb.
Last time there was a multiplayer free trial, it lasted longer than the double XP weekend it started with. That isn't the case this time around -- in fact, after the double XP weekend extension, the multiplayer free trial was shorter than the double XP weekend.
The Black Ops 6 multiplayer free trial ran from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Monday, Feb. 10.
The Terminator crossover event started in tandem with the double XP weekend and ends on Thursday, Feb. 20.
It'll function extremely similarly to the Archie's Festival Frenzy event launched for CODmas 2024. Instead of collecting Jolly Archies, though, players will be collecting skulls to redeem for new special rewards.
There are 13 unlockable rewards associated with the new Terminator event — the big ticket items include a Full Auto Mod for the AEK-973 marksman rifle and a new blueprint for the PP-919 SMG. Leaks suggest the other rewards will include double XP tokens, a calling card, an emblem, a weapon charm, a spray, a loading screen, a weapon sticker and the new Reactive Armor Warzone perk.
To collect the skulls to unlock the new items, you need to pick them up from eliminated players, zombies or Warzone caches. Once you have the requisite amount of skulls, you can exchange them for an item of your choice.
This list contains all of the rewards from the Terminator event in Black Ops 6, and how many skulls you need to unlock them.
Double XP Token - unlocked with 5 skulls
Double Battle Pass XP Token - unlocked with 5 skulls
Double Weapon XP Token - unlocked with 10 skulls
"Ocular System" Weapon Charm - unlocked with 15 skulls
"Don't Blink" Calling Card - unlocked with 25 skulls
"The Terminator" Loading Screen - unlocked with 10 skulls
"Cyberdyne Systems" Weapon Sticker - unlocked with 10 skulls
"Big Corp" Spray - unlocked with 10 skulls
"Scanning" Emblem - unlocked with 25 skulls
AEK-973 Full Auto Mod - unlocked with 50 skulls
Reactive Armor Warzone Perk - unlocked with 50 skulls
War Machine Scorestreak - unlocked with 100 skulls
"Judgment" PP-919 Weapon Blueprint - event completion reward
"Close Range" PP-919 Weapon Blueprint - BlackCell event completion reward
No, there isn't any double battle pass XP this weekend. This double XP weekend, gamers can earn double player XP, double weapon XP and double GobbleGums in the Zombies game mode.
You can't use your double XP tokens during double XP weekend. They are locked for the duration of the event, and any double XP time you have left on your account is frozen until the double XP weekend ends. CNET has a full guide on Black Ops 6 double XP tokens here.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Beta Dates Revealed. Here's How To Join

Clear your calendars for early October: The Black Ops 7 beta dates have been revealed on the game's Xbox store listing, and they're only a couple months away. The next Call of Duty game is a collaboration between developers Treyarch and Raven Software, and it takes place after Black Ops 2 in the series' chronology. While the Black Ops games jump around a confusing timeline, Black Ops 7 is a direct sequel to a 13-year-old game. The game's beta will focus on classic Call of Duty multiplayer modes and feature a mix of 6v6 and 20v20 maps. This larger-scale action is reminiscent of the Battlefield series -- a longtime competitor that just finished hosting a successful beta of its own. Here's everything you need to know about the Call of Duty Black Ops 7 beta, including key dates and how to join the early access period. It's possible that Black Ops 7 brings robot operators back to the series' multiplayer modes. Microsoft/Screenshot by CNET Black Ops 7 closed beta date and requirements If you want to jump into the Black Ops 7 closed beta and try the game before anyone else, you'll need to shell out some cash. The early access beta begins on Oct. 2. While access to the closed beta is limited, it's still more widely available than previous Call of Duty closed betas. Usually, people who pre-order the game get special access to the closed beta -- this is still true with Call of Duty Black Ops 7. This time around, though, Microsoft is adding another way to play during the early-access beta period. If you have an active Game Pass subscription, you'll also be able to join the Black Ops 7 closed beta. Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC and Game Pass Console plans are all valid subscriptions to gain access to the early Black Ops 7 beta. Game Pass is already the best value gaming subscription plan available, so the Black Ops 7 closed beta access is just another way to sweeten the deal. Classic Black Ops 2 scorestreaks could make a return in the next Call of Duty game. Microsoft/Screenshot by CNET Black Ops 7 open beta access Maybe you don't want to pre-order. Maybe you don't like gaming subscription services and don't want to grab Game Pass just for the Black Ops 7 beta. Whatever your reasoning for missing the closed beta may be, you're not locked out of trying the next Call of Duty game forever. The Black Ops 7 closed beta rolls directly into the game's open beta period, during which anyone will be able to try out the new Call of Duty multiplayer experience. Black Ops 7's open beta begins on Oct. 5. We don't yet know when the beta period will end, although the minimum duration is two days long, according to the store listing. The open beta period will allow any interested gamer to try out Black Ops 7 on their console of choice. Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will feature cross-platform gameplay. While no official release date has been revealed, leaks point to a mid-November launch. Black Ops 7's campaign is way bigger than you think

We all knew we'd be getting a new Black Ops 7 trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, but this quick look and pre-order announcement didn't give us the full picture of what this game has in store. Odds are most fans are already busy pre-ordering the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X after learning that Menendez is back, but if you want some more details to push you over the edge, I have some more exciting information about the Black Ops 7 campaign not included in the new trailer. The new campaign has been the main focus of Black Ops 7's marketing thus far, and for good reason. This is the biggest and most evolved a Call of Duty campaign has been in years. Not only does this campaign feature 4 player co-op across its globetrotting and mindbending story, but there will now be a new endgame and progression system to match the systems in multiplayer and Zombies. This includes XP, a battle pass, challenges, and more, but what exactly does this look like? After beating the campaign, players will unlock a new 12th mission called Endgame. Using the same operators from the campaign, you will be able to drop into an extraction-like scenario in Avalor with up to 31 players to earn new skills, abilities, calling cards, weapon camo, and everything else you'd expect to be earning in multiplayer or Zombies. But, just like an extraction shooter, you will lose all your operator progress if your squad gets wiped out. Recommended Videos The team does promise that the Black Ops 7 campaign will have a satisfying ending. Set in 2035, this game will be the ultimate conclusion of story threads set up in both Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. The four playable characters are familiar faces in David Mason, Mike Harper, and Eric Samuels, but one newcomer to the series is Leilani Tuuola. The campaign isn't the only pillar of Black Ops 7 with new twists. Multiplayer is getting traditional prestige, but also the return of weapon prestige, plus a new Skirmish mode that features 20 vs. 20 battles, encouraging fast movement. Sharing weapon builds is also easier than ever, thanks to the ability to send your weapon builds directly to friends or share them online with a unique code. We're all excited about Zombies, but Dead Ops Arcade 4 might steal the show. We'll learn way more about multiplayer and round-based Zombies later on, but the Black Ops 7 campaign has way more to be excited for than previous years. Black Ops 7 will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 14, but there's a beta running from October 2 through October 8 for those who preorder or are Game Pass subscribers.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7' Really Wants You To Play The Campaign

Activision and Treyarch revealed a ton of new details about this year's upcoming Call Of Duty today at Gamescom. I attended a preview event earlier this month and got to see an even more detailed presentation about what's coming to Black Ops 7. I also was able to speak with developers and got a little bit of hands-on time with the game's multiplayer and Zombies modes, though I'll have to save my gameplay impressions for another time. One of the things that really stood out to me about Black Ops 7 is just how badly the developers seem to want to get players to actually play – and finish – the campaign. I almost typed 'single-player campaign' just now, but this is actually a co-op campaign. You can still play it solo, but you can also play with up to a four-person squad, or with just two or three people. Play with friends or utilize online matchmaking, or just play by yourself. The game will automatically scale difficulty based on how many players are in the squad, which is certainly new for Call Of Duty. Beyond co-op, which should make the campaign more fun for people who normally just play multiplayer, are a bunch of other incentives. For the first time, there will be a full suite of Campaign camos and mastery camos for all the Black Ops 7 guns. This means that completionists who grind camos in multiplayer, Warzone and Zombies will now need to grind camos in the campaign. Fortunately, that doesn't mean playing the campaign itself over and over again. There's a brand new end-game (aptly titled Endgame) for players to wingsuit into, after they complete the campaign. Now, once you've finished the final mission, you'll be able to squad up with teammates and play an open-world mode on the Avalon map. This Endgame mode sounds a bit like the DMZ from Modern Warfare II. Up to 32 players drop into Avalon and fight their way through increasingly difficult portions of the map, leveling up as they progress. Apparently, finishing the hardest missions Avalon has to offer will require multiple deployments, though if you're wiped out you lose all your upgrades. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder The campaign, and Endgame, will feature some fun bells and whistles like grappling hook traversal and wingsuits. These movement upgrades will be available in the 20v20 multiplayer Skirmish mode as well, though not in core 6v6 modes. Leveling guns is now global as well, so all progress made in all modes, from campaign/Endgame to MP and Warzone and Zombies, contributes to leveling up your arsenal. Black Ops 7's campaign is a direct sequel to 2012's Black Ops II, picking back up in 2035. There are many familiar faces, though chief protagonist David Mason is now played by Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, This Is Us). Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) returns as Mike Harper and Kiernan Shipka (Twisters, Sabrina) plays the enigmatic Emma Kagan, CEO of the almost certainly nefarious tech giant, The Guild. Oh, and somehow Raul Menendez – villain of Black Ops II, who very much dies in that game – returns. From what I've seen of the campaign, it looks pretty wild. Most Black Ops campaigns are trippy, but this one looks like it takes place as much in psychedelic mindscapes as it does in the real world. One mission includes giant machetes as tall as skyscrapers crashing into the ground around you as you battle your way through phantom-like enemies. The campaign takes you to Japan, the Mediterranean nation of Avalon, the jungles of South America and more, though how many of these locations are real remains to be seen. I'm also curious to see if Avalon is just a location for Endgame and some multiplayer maps, or if we're getting an Avalon Warzone map as well. Hopefully we find out more soon. Black Ops 7 releases on November 14th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC via and Steam. I'm a little surprised that we're still getting these on last-gen systems. Still no word on whether Nintendo Switch 2 will be getting a Call Of Duty title anytime soon.
