Guy Pearce eyes Rupert Murdoch role in upcoming biopic ‘Ink'

Agency: Last Updated: Los Angeles, Aug 20 (PTI) Actor Guy Pearce is reportedly in talks to play media mogul Rupert Murdoch in filmmaker Danny Boyle's upcoming biographical film 'Ink". 'Sinners" star Jack O'Connell is also in discussion to play Larry Lamb, the late editor of 'The Sun", a UK-based tabloid, Deadline reported. Based on the play of the same name by James Graham, the production was brought to Broadway, where it received two Tony awards, and much critical acclaim. The film will chronicle Murdoch's purchase of 'The Sun" in 1969, when it was a relatively struggling publication. Murdoch hires Lamb to revive the sinking ship. Pearce is known for starring in notable films, including Christopher Nolan's 'Memento" and the crime-thriller 'L.A. Confidential". The Australian actor also received an Oscar nomination this year for his supporting role in 'The Brutalist". Narcos star Wagner Moura to receive Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival

Agency: PTI London, Aug 20 (PTI) The Zurich Film Festival will honour 'Narcos" star Wagner Moura with the prestigious Golden Eye Award. The festival will run from September 25 to October 5 this year. The Brazilian star was also bestowed with the best actor award at Cannes Film Festival this year for his performance in 'The Secret Agent" by Kleber Mendonça Filho. Moura, more known internationally for his portrayal of drug overlord Pablo Escobar in the hit Netflix series 'Narcos", said he was 'deeply honored" to receive the Golden Eye Award. 'Thank you to the Zurich Film Festival for recognizing my work in Kleber Mendonça Filho's truly beautiful and important Brazilian film The Secret Agent. I am humbled to be in the company of those who have received this award and I'm very proud to share the film with the Zurich festival audience in person this September," he added. In a statement, Zurich Film Festival artistic director Christian Jungen said, 'with The Secret Agent, Wagner Moura carries the story with an electrifying presence unlike anything else." Moura would be the first South American actor to receive the award in the festival's history, Jungen shared, praising Moura for 'his exceptional performance in the film and for a career that has made him one of Latin America's most charismatic and versatile actors." Based on the novel by Joseph Conrad, 'The Secret Agent" sees Moura lead as a professor who finds himself in a politically tense climate in Brazil's Recife after he returns there to bond with his estranged son. After a successful career in the Brazilian film industry, especially for his role in 'Elite Squad", Moura debuted in Hollywood in 2013 alongside Matt Damon and Jodie Foster in 'Elysium". It was in 2015 when Moura was launched into global stardom with 'Narcos". He was also seen recently in Alex Garland's acclaimed political thriller 'Civil War" and the Apple TV+ series 'Dope Thief". Shah Rukh Khan Gets Emotional, Invites Aryan Khan On Stage For The First Time: 'Mera Beta Apna...'

Shah Rukh Khan got emotional as he introduced son Aryan Khan on stage for the first time, urging fans to shower him with 150% of the love he has received. Shah Rukh Khan is on cloud nine, not because he is coming up with a film but because it's the directorial debut of his son Aryan Khan. Today, for the very first time, he introduced his son on stage to address the press and talk about his show The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan got emotional and requested everyone to give his son 150% of the love they have given him over the years. While calling him on stage to talk to the media, Shah Rukh Khan said, 'Main bohot shukraguzaar hoon Mumbai ki is pavitra dharti ka, is desh ki pavitra dharti ka, jisne mujhe mauka diya ki main aap logon ko 30 saal tak entertain karne ki koshish kar sakun. Aaj bohot khaas din hai, kyunki isi pavitra dharti par mera beta bhi apna pehla kadam rakh raha hai. Bohot accha ladka hai. (I am deeply grateful to the sacred land of Mumbai, to the sacred land of this country, which gave me the opportunity to try and entertain you all for 30 years. Today is a very special day because on this very land, my son is taking his first step. He's a very good boy.)" View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) The actor further continued and added, 'Toh aaj jab woh aapke saamne aayega, aur agar aapko uska kaam accha lage, toh uske liye taaliyan bajaiyega. Aur un taaliyon mein thodi si dua bhi rakhna, thodi si prarthna bhi rakhna. Aur jaise ki maine aapse pichli baar kaha tha, jo pyaar aap logon ne mujhe diya hai, uska 150% aap use dena. (So today, when he comes before you, and if you like his work, please applaud for him. And in those applauses, keep a little blessing, a little prayer too. And as I had told you earlier, the love you have given me, give him 150% of that.)" About Ba***ds of Bollywood Aryan Khan, who chose to step into direction instead of acting, unlike his superstar father and sister Suhana Khan, has been working on the project for over a year. He serves as the creator and director and is working alongside co-creators and writers Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the show reportedly dives into the eccentric world of aspirants, hustlers, and dreamers who navigate the chaos of the Hindi film industry. It stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, and Gautami Kapoor.
