The Brit Pop icons took to the stage in Murrayfield Stadium tonight, marking the band's first Scottish concert in 16 years.
Around 70,000 revellers are expected to attend the hotly anticipated concerts in Edinburgh tonight.
But Liam, 52, called out snooty Edinburgh council officials over their recent remarks minutes after walking out to a sell-out crowd.
We previously revealed that councillors said punters at the shows will be mainly 'middle-aged men' who 'take up more room' in secret safety briefings.
Papers released under freedom of information laws reveal that officials expect 'medium to high intoxication' and a 'substantial amount of older fans' among the 210,000 gig-goers tonight, tomorrow and Tuesday.
The secret planning briefings warn: 'There is concern about crowds . . . as they are already rowdy . . . and the tone of the band.'
What about Edinburgh council, the f****** slags. The amount of money we're going to bring in, they'll split with their posh, ugly mates. Still waiting for a f****** apology

And in an apparent dig at the weight of punters set to pile into bars and hotels, they add: 'Middle-aged men take up more room. Consider this when working out occupancy.'
The papers also revealed fears that acts will pull out of Edinburgh's world-famous arts festival due to possible clashes with 'rowdy' punters.
The briefings said: 'Concerned about the safety of the Fringe and its performers. Many performers are considering not attending for that weekend."
Liam blasted the comments during tonights show and said to the cheering crowd: 'What about Edinburgh council, the f****** slags.
Oasis mania sweeps Edinburgh as 70,000 fans descend on Murrayfield for mega gig
"The amount of money we're going to bring in, they'll split with their posh, ugly mates.
"Still waiting for a f****** apology.'
He went on to slam the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and said into the mic: "What's happening in Edinburgh then? What's all that thick s***.
"People juggling f*****g bollocks and that? Swallowing swords ...one-legged bicycles. What's all that s*t about? S****y card tricks".
He wasn't the only one who called out the council tonight.
Richard Ashcroft, who was one of the acts supporting the brothers, also took a swipe at council officials.
As he warmed up the crowd earlier today, he took a dig at town hall execs, which was met with cheers by fans.
To call fans drunk, middle-aged, and fat is a nasty, sneering stereotype — it's a jaundiced view
David Walker
The Verve frontman said: "I think the council need to take a picture of this crowd.'
Richard also had a pop at feminist comedian Kate Smuthwaite, who claimed no one turned up to a gig because of Murrayfield concerts.
He said: 'If you're a s*** comedian and no one is there, this is called the Ashcroft effect.'
Oasis die-hards blasted the 'sneering' comments, which came after claims of booze-fuelled parties in the city chambers.
David Walker, 44, of the Oasis Collectors Group, said: 'To call fans drunk, middle-aged, and fat is a nasty, sneering stereotype — it's a jaundiced view.
'People want to have a great time. If reports of councillors' drunken parties are anything to go by, they'd be better keeping their opinions to themselves.
"The fanbase has changed a lot - there's a new generation of young fans for a start, and parents are wanting to introduce their kids to Oasis for the first time.
"If reports of Edinburgh councillors' drunken parties are anything to go by, then they'd be better keeping their opinions to themselves.
"The return of Oasis will be hugely exciting for the city - everyone just needs to roll with it."
Gig-goer Sian Downes, 36, of Hawick, Roxburghshire, agreed: 'As a lifelong Oasis superfan who happens to be female and not planning to be riotously intoxicated, I have to laugh.
"Some might say that's pretty outdated thinking from the council. I'm absolutely buzzing for the gig.
"It's a huge moment for fans and the city, and if that's genuinely how the fanbase is being viewed, I'd be curious to know what the plan is for looking after local people and infrastructure.
SOME MIGHT PAY
OASIS fans are set to pump an astonishing £136million into the Scots economy - double the boost from Taylor Swift's gigs.
More than 200,000 will flock to the capital to see the band, led by Noel and Liam Gallagher - and experts say they'll splurge cash in local hotels, bars and shops.
One said: "It's a major economic event."
Research from One loans firm Novuna Personal Finance estimates mad-for-it diehards will fork out £32million on food and drink, £27.5million on shops and leisure along with £6.2million for their accommodation.
When added to travel, concert tickets and merchandise, the total spend will be £136.6million.
Novuna marketing chief Theresa Lindsay said last night: "The return of Oasis to Edinburgh is a landmark moment.
"With fans expected to spend well over £100million in just three nights, it's proof that live music powers our cities far beyond the arena gates."
The cash bonanza will be despite city councillors describing Oasis fans as 'fat, old, drunk and lairy'.
"Also, I highly doubt a single Fringe act will actually steer clear of Edinburgh because of the gigs — and let's face it, they're probably just a bit jealous.
"There's not a Fringe performer alive who could draw a crowd like that or create a movement like they have."
Edinburgh chiefs set up an advisory group of organisers, emergency services and transport chiefs to ensure safety at the city gigs, which are set to generate £136million for the economy.
Edinburgh culture convener, Margaret Graham said: "We're very proud to host the biggest and best events in Edinburgh throughout the year, which bring in hundreds of millions of pounds to the local economy and provide unparalleled entertainment for our residents and visitors.
'As with any major event which takes place in the city, we prepare extensively alongside our partners to ensure the safety and best possible experience of everyone involved – and Oasis are no different.
"No two events are the same in terms of requirements or planning and our multi-agency approach reflects this appropriately.
'We're also working closely with residents in the local area to make sure these concerts pass off as smoothly as possible.
"We're looking forward to seeing Oasis take to the stage.'

Kate Cassidy shares she wears Liam Payne's clothes to bed in emotional grief update
Liam Payne's girlfriend took to social media to share how she is coping with the loss of the former One Direction star as she urged people not to judge how others grieve Kate Cassidy got emotional as she opened up to her followers online while talking about grief. Kate has been open about her struggles since the death of boyfriend Liam Payne last October. The former One Direction star tragically plunged to his death in a hotel in Buenos Aires. He had been in the country with Kate just days before his death, but Kate had headed back to the US when the tragedy occurred. Now, as she continues to try to come to terms with his passing, Kate shared a candid Instagram upload to try to help others deal with grief. She revealed she is often asked on the social media platform about Liam's death and how she copes with his loss. And she decided to answer a number of the queries, getting emotional when she mentioned the singer's name. She began by saying she was hoping to help others deal with their grief by sharing her thoughts. She said grief feels like "a world that you wake up in and it doesn't make any sense anymore, especially when you lose somebody so suddenly and unexpectedly you almost have such a hard time forgiving the world for ripping that person away from you." She went on to say she sometimes feels "numb," while other times it can be emotional. And she admitted she feels as though her personal grief will last a "lifetime". "Grief does not come with an expiration date," she added. "It's not something you learn to get over, it's something you learn to carry with". Responding to a question regarding grieving in the right way, Kate said: "This question resonates with me a lot because there is no handbook or no guidelines to grief. Everybody deals with it a different way." She opened up on her own daily changes, admitting she often feels like different ways can help her. That includes "being in sweats" or "dressing up". Kate went on to urge people not to judge those who grieve differently. And she admitted she copes in a number of ways, including by "wearing my loved ones' clothes to bed". She also said reading old letters and notes can help her. "It makes me feel so much more attached to him. Reading something in somebody's handwriting makes you hear their voice in your head while you're reading it so that helps me a lot. "And looking through old photos and videos. It doesn't always have to be sad. Grief is a reminder that you were able to experience love." As she tried to continue, Kate clearly got teary-eyed as she stuttered: "And I'm so lucky to have experienced that with um, Liam." Liam and Kate met in a scenario straight out of a rom-com, when the then-ordinary waitress served the megastar at a bar in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2022. For Liam, the attraction was immediate, and he asked for her number straight away. She told fans of their sweet love story as she previously shared a TikTok of the moment. And Liam told his fans he "never felt a love like I do for Katelyn," adding: "We make each other better people."
