Former WWE Women's Champion Asuka set to return after more than year of absence

असुका WWE 's women's division is going to get a massive facelift as Asuka is all set to make her return on next week's WWE RAW. It has been ages since WWE has seen Asuka in the ring, owing to a drastic injury. She was on the sidelines since suffering a knee injury back in 2024 that needed surgery to heal and intense rehab to follow. Following her surgery last year, she said that her knees were in pain and she would get into rehab. However, she stayed extremely tight-lipped about when she would come back. WWE announced Asuka's return for next week The return of Asuka was announced in a graphic that was aired during Raw, confirming her participation in a first-round Queen of the Ring match with the message, 'Next Monday. Queen of the Ring. The Empress returns.' Later in a video posted on social media by WWE, there was a full-blown clip of Asuka's in-ring exploits with the caption, 'Will they be READY for the RETURN of ASUKA?!' As reported by Cory Hays of BodySlam, and advertised in the video by WWE, The Empress of Tomorrow will be a part of a fatal-four way match-up where she would be locking horns against former WWE NXT Women's Champion, Stephanie Vaquer, one half of Women's Tag Team champion, Raquel Rodriguez and Ivy Nile. The winner of this battle will go on to face the winner of WWE SmackDown's four-way battle between Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Chelsea Green, and Candice LeRae. The tournament's finals will be held at the Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, scheduled to take place later this month. Asuka's last match-up for WWE was alongside Kairi Sane back in May 2024, where they dropped the tag-team titles to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eat 1 Teaspoon Every Night, See What Happens A Week Later [Video] getfittoday Undo Asuka's tale in the WWE ring has been one of inspiration and dreams coming true. She started her career as a freelance graphic designer and video game journalist before she came to WWE in 2015. Debuting in NXT in 2015, she was quick to establish her dominance and also win the NXT championship shortly thereafter. It was in 2017 that Asuka got her promotion to the main roster, and the world witnessed her hard-hitting brand of wrestling brilliance. Asuka's triumph in the maiden edition of the women's Royal Rumble was followed by her success in the SmackDown Women's Championship, WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, and Raw Women's Championship. Asuka has always been well-known for her agility in the ring, and now her return can serve as a massive booster for the WWE women's roster. The Women's roster has already been sparkling with the likes of Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, and so many other superstars. Exclusive: After R-Truth, is Braun Strowman going to return to WWE on public demand? Expert has this to say

Braun Strowman WWE return: R-Truth, on June 1, announced that the WWE had decided against renewing his contract and looked back on his time with the company. This created a great deal of buzz on social media as several angry netizens took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express displeasure with the Stamford-based promotion for letting go of the popular veteran. Following this backlash, WWE gave him a new deal. He will now stay with the promotion and perform under his real name Ron Killings Vince Russo feels, unlike R-Truth, Braun Strowman won't return to WWE on public demand The R-Truth situation has sparked speculation of Braun Strowman returning to the WWE. 'The Monster Among Men, who too enjoyed the loyalty of the WWE Universe, was released from the company on May 3 alongside several other performers. In an exclusive interaction with India times, veteran writer Vince Russo addressed the possibility. The moment that made the crowd stand still…RON. KILLINGS.#WWERAW Braun Strowman, who was let go by the WWE last month, had endeared himself to the audience with his feuds against Bronson Reed and Jacob Fatu. This made his departure a hard pill to swallow for the WWE universe. Many of his ardent fans even hoped that R-Truth being rehired on public demand would open the door for 'The Monster Among Men' to get a third run with the company. However, writer Vince Russo feels this won't happen as Strowman was previously released in 2021 as well. He also stated that the powerhouse did not enjoy the type of fan following that Ron Killings does. 'That ship has already sailed. And their fan base didn't have the same sentiment towards Strowman that they had towards Truth. Plus, it wasn't the first time they released Braun. No---Strowman IS NOT coming back,' he told the website. Vince Russo has been an inseparable part of the professional wrestling landscape since the 90s. He is best known for his association with the WWE and the now defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW) R-Truth made an instant impact on returning to WWE Coming back to Truth, he returned to WWE programming at Money in the Bank 2025 and nailed John Cena with a spear and the Undisputed Championship to teach him a lesson for humiliating him at Saturday Night's Main Event. This cost 'The Champ' and Logan Paul their match against Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. On June 9, he cut a promo in which he thanked fans for helping him regain his job and also vowed to be 'himself' during his new run.

Nikki Bella's return spoiled by current champion with subtle mention of her divorce on WWE RAW

Image via WWE Nikki Bella made her return to RAW this week in her hometown. The June 9th episode of Monday Night RAW took place at the PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. It saw the return of the hometown hero and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, which saw the crowd erupt for her. She came down to lay out her plans for the future, only to have her homecoming spoiled by top star of the current women's division. Nikki Bella appeared on WWE RAW after her appearance on the debut episode of Netflix At the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, it was announced that Nikki Bella would be making an appearance at the following edition of RAW. The fans already saw Bella arriving in the building and having some interactions with the stars of the current division, like Natalya, Maxxine Dupri, and the WWE Women's World Champion, IYO Sky. In the second hour of the show, The Fearless One came out to the ring to loud pop from her hometown audience. Nikki Bella herself felt enthralled to be back in front of the WWE Universe on live television. She addressed and applauded the current crop of women's division that has been taking the revolution ahead, which Nikki and Brie had been a part of. In doing so, she namedropped some top women like IYO Sky, Rhea Ripley, and even the new blood on RAW and SmackDown like Roxanne Perez and Giulia. This led to an angry Liv Morgan storming down to the ring to get in Bella's face. She felt insulted that she was not mentioned in that conversation, as she had been on top for the better part of last year. Following this, Morgan and Bella took highly personal shots at each other. Morgan even went on to say that she had everything, including a man, while Nikki Bella did not, referencing her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev last year, and called her nothing but a reality show Diva. Bella was leaving the ring, but these comments pushed her to the limit, and she turned back, only to be taken down by an Oblivion. With this altercation and WWE Evolution 2 on the horizon, a program might be developing between the veteran and current top star.
