Who is this auto driver in Bengaluru who speaks 7 languages, has 2 MA degrees and once dreamed of becoming an IAS officer?
Double MA, 7 languages, IAS dreamer: Bengaluru's inspiring auto driver
The auto driver, whose name remains unknown but whose story is now viral, challenged Abhinav and his friends with a bet. If they cracked the full form of 'COMPUTER', their ride was free. Spoiler alert: they could not. The driver then schooled them with the answer: Commonly Operated Machine Purposely Used for Trade, Education, and Research. A definition that sounded like it belonged in a classroom, not a city street.
But that was just the beginning.
IAS aspirant, MNC survivor, and linguistic legend
In a casual tone that made the whole interaction feel surreal, the auto driver revealed his backstory. Once an IAS aspirant, he holds not one, but two MA degrees, in English and Political Science. Life, however, had other plans. A sudden marriage, children, and responsibilities pushed him off his academic path.
Yet, instead of lamenting, he embraced his journey. He shared that he had worked in top MNCs, where he claimed the pay was good but came at a soul-draining cost. He now finds peace in his humble ride, connecting with people every day and dropping life nuggets along the way.
And netizens? They were quick to appreciate this man in the comment section. While many were inspired how he embraced journey many also felt bad and said he deserves better than just riding an auto.
Oh, and did we mention, he speaks seven languages? English, Hindi, Kannada, Urdu, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil. 'I speak Urdu just like our Muslim brothers,' he said with pride.
Abhinav wrapped up his video saying the 15-minute ride left him inspired and energised, calling it one of the most memorable moments of his life. Social media agrees, this auto driver may not have cleared the UPSC, but he certainly passed the test of perspective, humility, and grace.

Auto Driver's Take On Kannada Row Wins Internet: ‘Yeh Thoda Aadmi Log Daru Peeke...'
Last Updated: The auto driver feels that some auto drivers' emphasis on language is simply due to frustration in life and claims that there is no serious problem in Bengaluru Several language-related conflicts have been reported from some parts of the country. But an auto driver from Bengaluru has become popular on social media for his distinct opinion on the issue. He feels that some auto drivers' emphasis on language is simply due to frustration in life and claims that there is no serious problem in Bengaluru. He believes that everyone is welcome in the city. The viral footage shows the woman chatting with an auto driver in Bengaluru. She first asks how to utter a few Hindi phrases in Kannada, to which the auto driver respectfully responds. She then asks for his thoughts on the recent Kannada language struggle in Bengaluru. Surprisingly, the auto driver replies, 'Yeh thoda aadmi log daru wagera peke rehta hai, aisa aisa karke jhagda hota hai, warna koi problem nahi hai, acche se rehte hai sab. Nahi kuch nahi hota, bas by mistake ho jaata hai, gusse mein ho jaata hai, kuch ghar ka problem hai toh gusse mein ho jaata hai. Aap city ke andar jaiye, koi problem nahi hai. Bengaluru ke andar sab first class hai. (Some individuals drink and behave aggressively, which is how conflicts start. Otherwise, there's no difficulty; everyone lives in harmony. If something happens, it's either by accident, out of rage, or due to personal issues at home. There are no problems inside the city. Everything in Bengaluru is first-class)." The woman who posted the clip mentioned that she has stayed in Karnataka for four months and explored beyond Bengaluru, but never had any language problems. She travelled with several cab and auto drivers and was treated well. She added that as long as you are well-behaved, no one minds if you know Hindi. Internet Reaction To Auto Driver The video has since gone viral and has garnered a lot of reactions online. A user said, 'Good awareness dear…respect each other…Bangalore people are not that bad!!! They get triggered only when the opposite person tries to trigger them…I have been here in Bangalore for 25 years…Never faced issues with these," another person said, 'I like this auto driver and have a big respect." view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
