Ramy Youssef leaves Will Ferrell's Netflix project over creative differences
Los Angeles, Aug 6 (PTI) Actor-comedian Ramy Youssef has exited Will Ferrell's untitled Netflix golf comedy over creative differences.
Executive producers Josh Rabinowitz and Andy Campagna have also left the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Youssef was also an executive producer on the untitled Netflix comedy, which would see Ferrell as a golfing legend. The show was under Youssef's production banner Cairo Cowboy during this period.
The banner has since dropped the show, but continues to have other Netflix shows under its belt, including an upcoming show by Steve Way who is Youssef's long-time collaborator.
Production of the untitled show will now be under Gloria Sanchez productions, with four producers joining after Youssef, Rabinowitz and Campagna's exit.
Molly Shannon, Ferrell's fellow former 'Saturday Night Live", has joined the series as a cast member. Shannon recently starred in 'Only Murders in the Building" and the comedy show 'The Other Two".
Ferrell has had a long career, spanning 'Saturday Night Live" and several comedy roles, such as in 'Step Brothers", 'Anchorman" and Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie".
Youssef, a seasoned stand-up-comedian and writer, is best known for 'Ramy", an acclaimed show which explores the Muslim-American experience. More recently, Youssef featured in the Oscar-nominated Yorgos Lanthimos film 'Poor Things" and Jesse Armstrong's 'Mountainhead". PTI COR BK BK

Nandotsav rituals mark Lord Krishnas birth at temples in Mathura, Vrindavan
Mathura (UP), Aug 17 (PTI) Temples in Mathura and Vrindavan on Sunday reverberated with festivities as they celebrated Nandotsav, a celebration marking the joy on Lord Krishna's birth held a day after Janmashtami. Gyanendra Kishor Goswami, a priest at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, said expressions of joy form an integral part of devotion in the Brijbhoomi. 'A mixture of curd and turmeric is used to symbolise infant Krishna's mischief. In a ritual known as 'dadhikandha', this mixture is playfully thrown on the devotees," Goswami said. During the celebrations, toys, clothes, jewellery and money were flung from the sanctum sanctorum for the devotees to collect as 'prasad', a tradition commemorating Nand Baba's delight at Lord Krishna's birth, he added. Earlier in the day, a 'Mangl Aarti' was performed at the Banke Bihari temple after the ceremonial 'Mahaabhishek'. At the Shri Krishna Janmasthan in Mathura, the Bhagwat Bhavan was decorated as Nand Bhawan, which echoed with chants of 'Nand ghar anand bhayo, jai Kanhaiya Lal ki' along with devotional songs. Kapil Sharma, secretary of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, said toys, clothes, sweets and utensils were distributed among the devotees as prasad. Similar rituals were held at Vrindavan's Sapt Devalaya. At the Dwarkadhish temple, the deities were adorned as Nand Baba and Ma Yashoda. 'The festival reflects the joy of Krishna's parents at his birth. Items are distributed to the devotees on this occasion to share the happiness," Rakesh Tiwari, the temple's media and legal advisor, said. Rs 90L in subsidies, but artisans still struggle with rising costs

Morajkar said the survey to identify PoP idol sales began on Aug 8, and so far, GHRSSIDC's inspection has flagged none. He said that the inspection will continue until Aug 24. 'Local mud clay idols are the customer's first choice, due to our awareness campaigns. The Shadu Mati and coconut fibre idols from Maharashtra are in demand, but not as much as the local clay ones,' Morajkar told TOI . GHRSSIDC offers a subsidy of Rs 250 per idol for up to 250 idols to the local idol makers. As of July 2025, GHRSSIDC received 367 local vendor applications for registration. In 2024, 475 vendors received subsidies totalling Rs 90.5 lakh on the sale of 45,248 idols, Morajkar said. Pernem, Sattari, and Bicholim talukas have the highest concentration of traditional idol makers in Goa. 'Earlier, we used to get the Chikal Mati at Rs 20,000 for a 10m truck. Now, the prices have risen to Rs 25,000,' said Bicholim sculptor Durgaram Shet. Local artisans allege the PoP idol ban is not strictly enforced. The clay idols are heavier, with rich colours being another distinguishing feature. Umakant Poke, a third-generation sculptor from Morjim, said that because certain vendors sell PoP idols, local sculptors catch negative attention from handicraft officials.
