David Justice Critical Of Ex-Wife Halle Berry In New Interview, X Says 'Hold On'
David Justice, 59, sat down with the All The Smoke podcast and dished about his 14-year Major League Baseball career, winning two World Series, and shared details of the teams he played for. Justice and Berry were married from 1993 to 1997, and now he's sharing why the pair didn't last.
'My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn't vast,' Justice said to Matt Barnes. 'So, I'm looking at my mom…and I'm a Midwest guy. So, in my mind, I'm thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, traditional, you know?'

Justice doubled down on Berry's lack of cooking and cleaning around the home and positioned it as a reason why he couldn't sustain their relationship. In Justice's words, he felt that the prospect of having children with Berry wouldn't work out well because she, quote, didn't seem 'motherly' ahead of saying that the pair began having issues.
Long-persisting and unconfirmed rumors of domestic violence on Justice's behalf had dogged him, but he has come out to publicly state that he has never put his hands on his ex-wife, nor has Berry named her abuser. Berry is the mother of two children from previous relationships and is currently dating singer Van Hunt.
To Justice's credit, he did reveal that therapy might have possibly saved his marriage, as he admitted to lacking the tools to work on things.

Kaytranada & Justice Are Going on an Arena Tour This Fall: Here Are the Dates
Kaytranada and Justice are going on a co-headlining North American arena tour this fall. The 13-show run will launch on Oct. 17 in Vancouver, B.C., then hits arenas across the U.S. until it wraps in Miami, Fla., on Nov. 16. The run includes one currently unannounced show that's blurred out on the poster and is happening between an Oct. 22 in Oakland and an Oct. 28 show in San Diego. (One is tempted to speculate that this show will be in Los Angeles.) The Tame Impala collab from the duo's 2024 album Hyperdrama won the Grammy for best dance/electronic recording and gave Justice its first ever radio No. 1 in February. On July 16, Justice also released a remix package of 'Mannequin Love,' also from Hyperdrama, with fresh edits by The Dare, Braxe & Falcon and Hudson Mohawke. This autumn tour falls into the timeline Justice told Billboard about in March, when the duo's Gaspard Augé said the French duo would likely tour the lauded show debuted at Coachella 2024 this December. Following this, added Xavier de Rosnay, they'll likely 'pick a date and then dismantle everything' related to the live production 'so that there can't even be the temptation of saying yes to anything else.' Both artists also have plenty of solo tour dates on the calendar ahead of this fall run. Kaytranada's upcoming schedule including standalone shows and festival sets at events including HARD Summer and Breakaway Carolina and Justice's summer schedule including festivals primarily in Europe and Australia. Kaytranada's New Album ‘Ain't No Damn Way' Is Coming: It's ‘for My People That Love Beats'
Kaytranada announced on Monday (Aug. 11) that he'll be dropping his new album, Ain't No Damn Way, on Friday, Aug. 15. 'Oh lord, not a new album called AIN'T NO DAMN WAY! – coming out this Friday???' he wrote on Instagram while sharing an image of himself being embraced by a squiggly, winking faced character. The Haitian Canadian DJ/producer also revealed that the LP's first single, 'Space Invader,' will be released at midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 12. 'Letting y'all know that this album is strictly for workouts, dancing and studying and for my people that love beats,' he added on his Instagram Story. Aurora Theatre moves to lay off staff, vacate downtown Berkeley venue
Since Aurora Theatre Company announced in May that it was suspending production next season, Bay Area theater fans have feared the worst: permanent closure of yet another beloved institution. On Monday, Aug. 11, Artistic Director Josh Costello shared that the company was taking decisive steps toward disbanding. 'We have begun the process of laying off our staff, finding a home for our archives and emptying out this beautiful building on Addison Street in downtown Berkeley,' he said in a video recorded from the theater's peninsula-shaped stage. Still, both the video and an accompanying letter maintained that it was only 'possible,' not certain, that the company would shutter forever. One week of performances remain for 'The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe,' Jane Wagner's one-woman play, starring Marga Gomez, of interrelated monologues anchored by a self-described 'bag lady' who gets beamed into other people's consciousnesses. In September, Marin Theatre is partnering with Aurora on the Tony Award-winning 'Eureka Day,' but those performances take place at the Mill Valley company. Costello did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did Aurora's landlord, Gordon Commercial Real Estate Brokerage. In his letter, Costello blamed a familiar constellation of factors. 'The economic situation in the Bay Area today simply no longer allows for the small professional nonprofit theater model on which Aurora was built,' he explained. 'As with so many theaters, attendance never recovered from the pandemic — my sense is that social media and a broader cultural shift away from in-person socializing are as much to blame as COVID.' Other cited causes include skyrocketing expenses, an untenable cost of living for artists and arts workers, tech titans' lack of support for the arts (in contrast to philanthropy by other industrialists in previous generations) and 'disarray' in public and other private support. 'I'm tremendously sad that this is happening, and that it's happening on my watch,' Costello said. Established in 1992, the theater eked out a high-quality but anti-razzle-dazzle niche, specializing in contests of ideas that played out like boxing matches or lit tinderboxes. It presented A-list performers such as James Carpenter, Margo Hall, Carrie Paff, Aldo Billingslea and Danny Scheie up so close that, especially if you sat in the front row, you were basically a part of the set. Behind the actors? Most likely fellow audience members, thanks to the theater's rare deep-thrust shape. When everyone laughed together in the theater's blockbuster world premiere of 'Eureka Day' or cringed and tittered at Mark Jackson's production of 'The Arsonists,' the room became an echo chamber in a way that's just not possible when spectators are anonymous in the dark, facing the backs of others' heads. If it does cease to exist, Aurora will join a list of recently closed or hibernating companies and venues that, in of themselves, could sustain a theater scene in a midsize city: California Shakespeare Theater, Cutting Ball Theater, Bay Area Children's Theatre, PianoFight, TheatreFirst, American Conservatory Theater's master of fine arts program, foolsFury, Exit Theatre's Eddy Street venue, Custom Made Theatre Co., Mugwumpin and 42nd Street Moon. Other still-standing companies are making massive cuts, too. In late July, Magic Theatre announced it was indefinitely postponing its autumn show, 'Jerry Garcia in the Lower Mission,' because it couldn't raise the funds. 'I am crushed and confounded to have to make this painful and disappointing decision,' Lead Director Sean San José said in a statement.
