A glimpse at Florida football's blue-chip quarterback ahead of 2025 Elite 11 Finals
The 2025 edition of the Elite 11 Finals — a showcase of 20 soon-to-be high school senior quarterbacks who travel to Los Angeles for three days of competition against other top quarterback talents — kicks off on Tuesday, and the list of participants includes one of Florida football's top-rated prep prospects.
Quarterback Will Griffin, a four-star gunslinger out of Tampa (Florida) Jesuit, is one of three Sunshine State products included in the event as well as one of a trio of recruits committed to a Southeastern Conference school. 247Sports' Andrew Ivins provides a quick breakdown of the Gators' future under center ahead of the Elite 11 Finals start.
"Enters senior year with 46 varsity starts under his belt, making him one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the class. Built like Tim Tebow, but wants to win more times than not with his arm. Finished regional on a high note as he was lights out in the red zone."
Ivins notes that Griffin reminds him most of former Iowa State Cyclones quarterback Hunter Dekkers, who played college from 2020 to 2022 in Ames and signed with the New Orleans Saints after college as an undrafted free agent.

Texas A&M Football Has a Unanimous Prediction To Land Three-Star Offensive Lineman Aaron Thomas

Texas A&M Football Has a Unanimous Prediction To Land Three-Star Offensive Lineman Aaron Thomas originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Nothing is definite in recruitment, but Texas A&M football is trending in the right direction to land a three-star offensive lineman. After four-star Camren Hamiel announced his commitment on June 4, the Aggies have been a leader in picking up this second Arizona native. Advertisement College Station was last spot that the class of 2026 recruit had left to visit in June. Now with his decision date coming up quickly, Wednesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. EST will determine whether the Aggies stayed fresh in his mind enough to take his talents to Texas A&M. Aaron Thomas is the No. 439 overall recruit and No. 36 offensive tackle in the country from his class, according to 247Sports. He's also listed as the No. 5 recruit out of Arizona. Texas A&M football head coach Mike Lysaker-Imagn Images Head coach Mike Elko's biggest competition for Thomas is Ohio State. Both schools are ranked at the top of Thomas' four-team list. Behind the Aggies and Buckeyes are Florida State and Washington who have potential to land the recruit. In his announcement post on X, he also grouped Texas into the mix, though the Longhorns don't seem to have solid traction with the offensive tackle. Crystal Ball® Predictions are suggesting that Texas A&M has a 100 percent chance to reel in the offensive lineman. Elko currently has four-star interior offensive lineman Samuel Roseborough committed, meaning Thomas would have more room to work with within the position. Ohio State and Washington both have two tackles on their class of 2026 roster. Advertisement Florida State, though, not only has a clean slate in the position like Texas A&M but also a family connection. According to Texas A&M Aggies on SI, Thomas' father, Eric, played for the Seminole's offensive line. Even though Florida State isn't currently projected to be a top two team in the rising senior's mind, things can flip at any moment right down to the last second. Hurricanes on Recruiting Hot-Streak as July Commitments Approach originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Miami Hurricanes have done it again. In a story by Justice Sandle of Miami flipped a former SEC recruit, changing his commitment from the Tennessee Volunteers to the Miami Hurricanes. Advertisement 3-star wide receiver Tyran Evans has decided that sunny Florida is a better place to play college football than Knoxville, TN. This latest recruiting win for Miami bolsters their already Top 10 recruiting class, currently No. 6 by 247Sports. Evans also took visits to North Carolina State and Kentucky, At 6-foot 3, 200 pounds, Evans presents the coveted mismatch that taller receivers present against smaller defenders, going up and high point the ball with ease in tight coverage. Last season at Hough High School in Cornelius, NC, Evans caught 36 passes for 980 yards and 14 touchdowns. Evans received 22 offers from such schools NC State, Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Temple, Virginia Tech and the spurned Tennessee Volunteers, among others. ACC Star QB Tabs Ty Simpson as one of the 'Best' QBs in College Football

ACC Star QB Tabs Ty Simpson as one of the 'Best' QBs in College Football originally appeared on Athlon Sports. For just the second time since 2021, the Alabama Crimson Tide will have a changing of the guard at the quarterback position. Advertisement Following a two-year run with dual-threat passer Jalen Milroe under center, Alabama will turn to one of Ty Simpson, Austin Mack, or Keelon Russell. The leader in the clubhouse remains Simpson, the former five-star recruit in the 2022 class. Although some have reservations about Simpson's ability to play in the SEC following just 50 pass attempts in three years, one top college signal-caller believes he can push the team to a College Football Playoff bid. The guys that believe in the program and believe in the culture that they're at... There's a reason that those are four of best quarterbacks in college football right now," said Clemson Tigers star quarterback and Heisman Trophy Award hopeful Cade Klubnik per Touchdown Alabama on Twitter. Advertisement Klubnik included Simpson in a quartet of passers that have stacked accolades during their time in college. Allar led the Penn State Nittany Lions to a College Football Playoff win in 2024, while Manning threw nine touchdowns against just two picks in relief of an injured Quinn Ewers for a 13-3 Texas Longhorns squad. As for Simpson, he went 14-of-25 for 167 yards. He also ran for 44 yards and a score. Although inexperienced, Simpson enters the season as a former top high school recruit who won the backup quarterback job behind Milroe last season.
