The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has announced a strategic collaboration with J.P. Morgan to support local talents through the launch of a new Technology Center of Excellence in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is set to create 200 high-quality job opportunities for Bahraini professionals in the Information and Communication Technology sector. Tamkeen will support the employment and training of local talent. This agreement underscores the importance of fostering strategic partnerships that drive innovation and digital transformation in the Kingdom while also enhancing the skills of local talent and boosting their competitiveness both locally and internationally. This took place during a meeting attended by His Excellency Mr. Hamad Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Mr. Daniel Pinto, JPMorganChase President, and Mr. Abdulla Aljanahi, J.P. Morgan Bahrain General Manager. During the meeting, the latest developments in the financial services and ICT sectors were reviewed, with an emphasis on the importance of investing in national talent in line with labor market needs. Following the meeting and in their presence, the agreement was signed by H.E. Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez and Mr. Abdulla Aljanahi. The J.P. Morgan Global Technology Center in Bahrain will be one of the most advanced in the region, aiming to create 200 high-quality job opportunities across various fields including software engineering, IT management, project management and data analysis. All employees will undergo specialized training, with select individuals participating in international practical training programs in the United States and India as part of the Global Ready Talent Program to ensure alignment with global standards. The Kingdom of Bahrain has firmly established itself as a regional hub for financial technology in the region. The financial services sector is one of the largest contributors to national economy, accounting for 17.7% of the GDP as of Q3 last year and currently employs over 14,000 professionals across various specializations. This partnership comes as part of Tamkeen's various initiatives to support the financial services and ICT sectors, by providing quality and rewarding employment opportunities for local talent, in addition to enabling them to gain practical experience from leading global companies.

Morgan's decision to establish the center in the Kingdom of Bahrain stems from the country's supportive business ecosystem, the availability of qualified national talent, and growth-oriented regulatory framework, in addition to continuous government support.
