Today Show favorite ‘expected' to leave amid shakeup with parent company
The
Today Show's
parent company is undergoing a big shuffle, meaning a fan-favorite host could be leaving.
MSNBC and
NBC
News are going their separate ways, meaning journalists will be split between the two networks, according to Politico. This isn't the first major change Today has seen, with Hoda Kotb

Jenna Bush Hager has seen a rotating group of celebrity guests in Kotb's place, including fellow anchor Savannah Guthrie. Her co-hosts from this past week were comedian Tiffany Haddish, E! News host Justin Sylvester, and Andy Cohen, who
fans said should stay as permanent host

There are a few journalists that both MSNBC and NBC News want to keep. Willie Geist, co-host of Morning Joe and Today Show on Sundays, is the rare exception to appear on both networks.

This comes after MSNBC's ratings tanked by 57% following the 2024 presidential election. While viewers have returned, sometimes beating the ratings of biggest rival CNN, the decision has still been made to make the split.
The primary driver behind the decision, however, was the decline of cable television.

Eagles player calls Ivanka Trump 'his type' in inappropriate posts after White House visit
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Eli Ricks attended Monday's trip to the White House despite several players choosing to skip the occasion , and he proceeded to call Donald Trump's daughter "beautiful" on social media. A sizable portion of the Eagles roster was absent as their Super Bowl win was honored by Trump at the White House, with NBC News confirming that a government representative cited "scheduling conflicts" as the primary reason. Trump celebrated quarterback Jalen Hurts despite the Super Bowl MVP not being present , but awkwardly admitted that he predicted the Kansas City Chiefs to win over the Eagles . It was a major occasion for all players - coming after Trump found a ludicrous way to make himself look taller while standing next to Ohio State's football team - but especially the younger members of the roster, such as Ricks, who are relatively new to the NFL . Ricks posted a picture to his Instagram story from inside the White House, raising his fist to mimic Trump. Ricks' selfie was taken in front of an iconic image of the President, when he survived an assassination attempt before being re-elected. It appears that Ricks is a fan of Trump, but was more in awe of his daughter when leaving the White House. " Donald Trump daughter is beautiful damn," Ricks posted on X before adding: "After seeing her in person Ivanka is exactly my type." Eli Ricks was a big fan of Ivanka Trump after meeting her at the White House (Image: @eliasricks / X) Ricks' posts instantly went viral, with some fans praising his confidence while others were shocked by his honesty. Ivanka Trump's age was also mentioned, as she is 43 and happily married to businessman Jared Kushner, while Ricks is only 23. It was still a successful turnout from the Eagles despite several players skipping the event alongside Hurts, as wide-receiver duo A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith also didn't attend. Jordan Davis, Jalen Cart, Josh Sweat, Jalyx Hunt, Zach Baun, Nakobe Dean, Nolan Smith JR, Darius Slay, Quinyon Mitchell, Isaiah Rodgers, and CJ Gardner-Johnson also missed out. One of the players in attendance was Saquon Barkley, who received backlash for meeting with President Trump a day early. Barkley was pictured with Trump at his New Jersey golf club on Sunday, before flying to the White House. Ricks posted this photo to his Instagram (Image: Instagram/eliasricks) Despite already planning to attend on Monday, Barkley was forced to speak out on social media after coming under heavy scrutiny. "Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT," Barkley posted on X. "Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day." Donald Trump was visited by Saquon Barkley before the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles roster (Image: Photo by Mandel NGAN / AFP) Trump is also a big fan of Barkley, and claimed that he warned the New York Giants ahead of their decision to let the running back test free agency. "By the way, I have to tell you something," Trump said at the White House. "I was with the Giants and the head coach, and some people, and I said, 'Do anything you have to but don't lose Saquon.' They lost Saquon. That was not good. "I called that one, that was an easy one to call as he played damn well for the Giants I can tell you that. But, he made the right decision because it is a team sport and he has great people in this team." The Giants refused to meet Barkley's salary demands, and he proceeded to sign with their NFC East rivals ahead of the 2024 NFL season. Barkley was named Offensive Player of the Year after becoming the ninth player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season, and led the Eagles to the championship.
