'So, I've always wanted to try and do something to give back and I had the idea for a while and just as I started to put it all together that's when the vandalism happened.'

Last month, Gwent Police confirmed three separate incidents of vandalism at The Owl Sanctuary in the Festival Park in Ebbw Vale.
One of the incidents resulted in the toilets at the sanctuary being completely destroyed.
Since then, public donations have been flying in.

Queen's two-word comment after seeing Archie and Lilibet for final time
Princess Lilibet met the Queen during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. Yesterday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's daughter, Princess Lilibet turned four years old and the proud mum shared several unseen snaps on her social media to mark the occasion. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their youngest child into the world in on June 4, 2021, two years after the birth of her older brother Archie, who is now six. In 2020, the family relocated to the US after Harry and Meghan made the decision to step back from their royal duties. And two years later, in 2022, Harry's grandmother, the longest-serving British monarch, passed away at the age of 96, prompting him and Meghan to return to the UK to be with his family. Looking back on his children's "final visit" to the Queen, Prince Harry suggested she was "bemused" by the youngsters, writes The Mirror. In his autobiography Spare, Harry opened up about her funeral before saying: "The following morning, Meg and I left for America. "For days and days we couldn't stop hugging the children, couldn't let them out of our sight, though I also couldn't stop picturing them with granny, the final visit. "Archie was making deep, chivalrous bows, his baby sister Lilibet cuddling the monarch's shins." Recounting his grandmother's response, he said she referred to them as the "sweetest children", while "sounding bemused". "She'd expected them to be a bit more... American, I think? Meaning, in her mind, more rambunctious," he added. "Now, while overjoyed to be home again, doing drop-offs again, reading Giraffes Can't Dance again, I couldn't stop remembering." After she passed away, her son, Harry's dad, ascended to the throne as King Charles III, with his wife Camilla taking on the role of Queen Consort. Reports suggest that King Charles and Queen Camilla have met Archie a handful of times but have only met Lilibet once during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II in June 2022. In recent years, Prince Harry and his family have become distant, a fact he confirmed himself in a recent interview. Speaking to the BBC, the Duke of Sussex expressed a desire for reconciliation, stating: "There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious." Harry said that his father "won't speak to him" following a dispute over his security arrangements. This year, Harry faced defeat in a legal case concerning the downgrading of his personal security level. Reflecting on the verdict, he shared: "I'm devastated - not so much as devastated with the loss that I am about the people behind the decision, feeling as though this is okay. Is it a win for them? "I'm sure there are some people out there, probably most likely the people that wish me harm, W.H.O. consider this a huge win." Prince Harry also mentioned that he has decided against pursuing further legal action, as the judgement "proven that there was no way to win this through the courts". He went on to say the decision also meant that he "can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point". Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Meghan Markle copies influencers with her cringeworthy 'Baby Mama' twerking video with Prince Harry while heavily pregnant - after trend that 'induces labour' goes viral
Meghan Markle copied a series of celebrities by performing a 'Baby Mama' dance with Prince Harry while waiting for their daughter Princess Lilibet's birth. The Duchess of Sussex last night posted an extraordinary video of her 'twerking' to the song by Starrkeisha while in the delivery room in California four years ago. The Baby Mama dance was a social media craze in 2018 with celebrities such as Ex on the Beach 's Chloe Goodman and her influencer sister Lauryn Goodman involved. Other notable figures to have tried the dance include High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale, Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell and Doctor Who's Karen Gillan. The playful lyrics encourage expectant mothers to 'drop it down, drop it down, down low', adding: 'When the song come on let me see you get gone / Baby mamas, this your song / Been pregnant for way too long / Now tell the DJ turn it on.' In Meghan's video, her hair is in a ponytail and she is wearing a sleeveless black summer dress which she pulls up as she shimmies towards the camera, using her hands to display her baby bump more prominently and then waving them in the air. Harry then sways in front of the camera, dancing with his hands and shaking his hips, as his wife pushes her bottom out, shaking it and then wiggling her own hips. Towards the end of the excruciating 81-second video Meghan beckons Harry, sporting a hoodie and jeans, toward her - before glancing to make sure the camera is recording, giving it a knowing glance and then pulling her dress up above her knees. The caption to her Instagram post said: 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates... so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do.' Meghan seemingly has a cannula ready for a drip in her left hand, a hospital identity band on the other wrist, and is surrounded by medical equipment. Earlier, Meghan shared two previously unseen photos of Lilibet with Harry. One of the pictures showed the Duke of Sussex holding his daughter's hand as they walked along a sandy road barefoot in the sunshine, while he held his shoes and a cap. The other image was of Harry holding Lilibet as a baby while they looked at each other. Meghan wrote in a post accompanying the pictures: 'The sweetest bond to watch unfold. Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer. Happy birthday Lili!' The post was made at 7.40am California time (3.40pm UK), just under eight hours after Meghan earlier posted two other intimate family photos of her with Lilibet. In that post, the Duchess shared a black-and-white snap of herself cuddling Lili, who was sat on her lap, with the pair both sporting windswept hair, seemingly on a boat. The second image in the first post showed Meghan tenderly cradling newborn Lilibet as she enjoyed skin-to-skin time with the new addition to her family in 2021. Meghan wrote in the first post: 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it. 'Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' The Duchess usually only shares photos of her daughter pictured from behind to protect her privacy. But in the more recent photo, Lili's eyes and the top half of her face could be seen, with her nose and mouth and the rest of her face covered by Meghan's arms as she hugged the princess. Lili - the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's youngest child - was born on June 4 2021 and was named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. She only became entitled to be a princess when her grandfather the King acceded to the throne, because of rules set out by King George V in 1917. Harry and Meghan started using prince and princess for Archie and Lili after the princess's christening in 2023, following correspondence with Charles about the matter. On Tuesday, Meghan suggested that she might launch a future business with Lili as she chatted to Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles on her podcast. 'I wonder if one day I'll be in business with Lili and we'll be building something,' the duchess said, with Knowles adding: 'That's the best.' Last week, the Duchess shared a clip of her and her daughter beekeeping in matching protective suits, writing: 'Harvesting honey with my little honey. (Like mother, like daughter; she's even wearing my gloves).' Lilibet is named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Elizabeth had difficultly pronouncing her own name as a toddler and her grandfather George V would affectionately call her Lilibet, imitating her own attempts to say Elizabeth. The sweet nickname stuck and she became known as Lilibet to her family from then on. But the late Queen was reportedly 'as angry as I'd ever seen her ' after Harry and Meghan claimed they had her blessing to use the name for their daughter Lilibet, a royal aide said. Royal author Robert Hardman, in his biography of the King, told how a member of staff recounted Elizabeth II's fury following Harry and Meghan's announcement in 2021 over the use of her childhood family nickname. The BBC later reported a Palace source said the Queen was not asked by the Sussexes whether they could use Lilibet. But the Sussexes' lawyers fired off legal letters to the broadcaster and other publishers, saying the claim was false and defamatory. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan insisted at the time that the duke spoke to his grandmother in advance and would not have used the name had the monarch not been supportive. Hardman wrote however: 'One privately recalled that Elizabeth II had been 'as angry as I'd ever seen her' in 2021 after the Sussexes announced that she had given them her blessing to call their baby daughter 'Lilibet', the Queen's childhood nickname.'
