Promised T-Mobile feature is live in T-Life for real this time
Earlier this month, it was reported that T-Mobile 's T-Life app gained an option to let customers change SIM cards associated with their numbers on their own. This was a long-overdue change. The company disabled the feature in 2022 when SIM swap attacks, which let criminals hijack numbers for theft and other ill motives, became rampant. A huge update reinstated the feature, at least for iPhone users. However, it was later discovered that the feature didn't actually work for the vast majority of users. It failed at the last step. So, even though the feature popped up, it was as good as useless.
The feature is now working, according to some customers. It still has some kinks apparently, especially when it comes to eSIMs.

Regardless, it's great to see actual progress on this front. T-Mobile will likely iron out any bugs that are present to ensure the process is smooth and effortless. It must be noted that only the primary account holder account is authorized to make these changes.

T-Mobile presumably wanted to put guardrails in place before bringing back the feature.
It's not clear why the company kept the feature disabled after officially rolling it out. If we had to guess, it could be that T-Mobile was waiting for a company-wide implementation of the employee identification verification system CLEAR1 before enabling self-service SIM swaps. After all, employees who were persuaded by cybercriminals to assist with SIM swap attacks were one of the reasons they were successful. With this new identity assurance system in place, it's going to be much harder for bad actors to pull off SIM hijacking. T-Life has only gotten better over time, at least as far as the number of things it lets you do is concerned. Apple and Samsung smartphones have often been called identical in many ways, and to an extent that is very true: modern flagship phones don't differ much in power and cameras. If current rumors ( not confirmed reports ) are anything to go by, then the iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with a 5,000 mAh battery. However, so will the S26 Ultra , with some predicting that Samsung may finally use denser battery technology to achieve the same capacity in less space. The current iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.25 mm thick, which means that Apple is no longer trying to slim down its flagship model each year. If an Apple user wants a slimmer experience, they'll have to go for the iPhone 17 Air, which will only have a battery capacity of 2,800 is doing what I've been wanting phone companies to do for a long time: increasing battery capacity instead of slimming down an already very slim phone. Rumored iPhone 17 Air color to continue modern trend of dull shades

Though this isn't a confirmed report just yet, there is a possibility ( translated source ) that the Air will introduce a new blue color unlike anything that Apple has used isn't necessarily a good thing, as the rumor claims that the color is such a light shade of blue that, under certain lighting conditions, it basically appears as white. This is similar to certain other modern color options for smartphones — like 'Silverblue' for the Galaxy S25 Ultra — that don't commit too hard to a unique shade. Fortunately, according to other reports, at least the base model iPhone 17 may be introducing a new color that isn't just a different shade of black or white. The base model iPhone 17 will have purple as an option, and it looks better than previous purple shades on the iPhone 14. It's not as royal as the purple as the iPhone 12, however, which is a bummer. If you were to choose between the two phones solely based on color choices, then you couldn't go wrong either way. The Air is expected to replace the Plus models, and as such will be unveiled alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup later this year.
