On Feb. 22, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed in Venezuela's Estadio Monumental Simón Bolívar, where Venezuelan singer-songwriter Nella was a special guest. The two shared the stage to sing anthemic songs like 'Bésame Mucho' and 'Vivo Por Lei.'

Karol G shared an emotional message on her Instagram stories on Friday (Feb. 28), honoring fellow Colombian hitmaker, Shakira. The 'Mi Ex Tenía Razón' singer took to social media to express how much Shakira means not just to to her but all of Latin America. 'Her songs and her story have represented our country and the Latin industry for decades and it's inspiring to see her shine like never before, or better yet, shining like always,' Karol wrote. 'Sending you a hug from afar, enjoy it all.' Shakira is currently on tour with her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran trek, recently wrapping up her string of shows in her native Colombia.
Television hosts Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina, best known for their show El Gordo y La Flaca, were honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday (Feb. 27), where music stars Thalia, Gloria and Emilio Estefan were in attendance.
'Lili is Emilio's niece by blood,' Gloria began here speech at the ceremony. 'I'm so proud of Lili, she always knew who she wanted to be and worked so hard to get there. People always say, 'Oh, you helped Lili' but we did nothing. She did this all on her own.'
Mexican star Thalia spoke a few words in honor of her good friend Lili Estefan, saying she is a reference to many Latin women who look up to her. You can watch the entire ceremony here.
Mexican icon Marco Antonio Solís referenced Kendrick Lamar's hit 'Not Like Us' during a concert in Argentina. Solís incorporated the 2024 diss track at Estadio Centenario (Resistencia) on Sunday (Feb. 23), and even added Lamar's viral dance moves from his Super Bowl halftime performance in New Orleans. Solís first danced to the mariachi song 'El Celoso,' which then transitioned into 'Not Like Us.' It was indeed a fan-favorite moment as the crowd erupted in a roar.

Colombian star Carlos Vives performed at Viña del Mar on Wednesday (Feb. 26), where he was awarded with Gaviotas de Plata and Oro. One of the most memorable moments from his set was when he serenaded his wife Claudia Elena Vásquez with 'Volví a Nacer.' 'I want to share with you something very special, this song was composed during a difficult moment of my life,' he prefaced the song. 'We all spend difficult nights, but we know that the next day the sun rises. I composed this song for a person at a very special moment and from this song things changed in my life, and I want to dedicate it to everyone because I know that at some point we will all be born again.' The couple shared a passionate kiss to seal his performance.

Alcaraz, Swiatek and Sabalenka in French Open semi-final hunt
Carlos Alcaraz expects a stiff challenge from Tommy Paul in the French Open quarter-finals Tuesday, as women's title rivals Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka look to set up a blockbuster clash. Reigning men's champion Alcaraz is through to the last eight at Roland Garros for the fourth year running and aims to become the third man this century to defend his title, after Gustavo Kuerten and Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz has dropped a set in each of the past three rounds and said "I fought against myself in the mind" after a tough four-set victory over Ben Shelton in the last 16. The 22-year-old Spaniard holds a 4-2 career record against Paul, the US 12th seed whom Alcaraz beat in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics on the way to a silver medal last August. "I remember that every match that I've played against him he was really tough," said Alcaraz. "His level is really high right now. He has a lot of confidence. "It's going to be a really interesting match to watch, because every time we play against each other, we rise our level to the top as well." If Alcaraz gets past Paul he will meet the winner of Tuesday's other men's quarter-final between in-form Italian Lorenzo Musetti and Frances Tiafoe. Musetti has been one of the form players on clay this season, reaching at least the last four in all three of the principal warm-up events ahead of the French Open. Both Musetti and US 15th seed Tiafoe are appearing at this stage of Roland Garros for the first time. Tiafoe, twice a US Open semi-finalist, has yet to drop a set in Paris and is confident he can go even further. "When I'm playing well, I'm there and present and having fun, I think the sky's the limit for me." - Swiatek, Sabalenka on collision course - Swiatek arrived at her favourite tournament with serious doubts over her ability to win a fifth French Open in six years after a lengthy trophy drought. The 24-year-old Pole has not won a title since lifting the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen for a third successive edition 12 months ago. She was put to the test by Elena Rybakina, who led by a set and a break before Swiatek escaped trouble to book a quarter-final with Elina Svitolina. "It means a lot. I think I needed that kind of win to like feel these feelings that I'm able to win under pressure," Swiatek said after reeling off her 25th win in a row at the French Open. "It's a great confirmation for me. Yeah, I for sure wanted to have a match like that." Ukrainian 13th seed Svitolina pulled off an even more remarkable comeback against 2024 runner-up Jasmine Paolini, saving three match points to reach her fifth Roland Garros quarter-final. The 30-year-old has never advanced to the last four but will hope to finally match husband Gael Monfils' run to the semi-finals in 2008. World number one Aryna Sabalenka is on a revenge mission against Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen after losing to the Chinese star in Rome recently. Zheng beat Sabalenka for the first time in seven attempts and will try to repeat the trick against the player she lost to in the 2024 Australian Open final. "I expect a great battle, and I'm super excited to face her in the quarter-finals, and I want to get my revenge. Yeah, I want to get this win after Rome," said Sabalenka. Madrid champion Sabalenka feels she is ready to go all the way in Paris, where her best performance was reaching the semi-finals two years ago. "I think in the last year I improved a lot in my game, and I think now going to the French Open, I don't have those doubts that I cannot play on clay, so maybe I'm more confident this year." Peter Murphy Cancels 2025 Tour Dates Due To Ongoing ‘Health Issues'
Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy has announced he will not be hitting the road this summer as planned, with ongoing health issues to blame for the nascent cancellation. Murphy announced his news via social media on Monday (June 2), informing fans that, 'It is with regret that, due to recent health issues, I will be unable to perform for you this summer. The forthcoming tour dates were set to see Murphy touring in support of Silver Shade, his first new solo album since 2014, with festival dates scheduled throughout the U.K. and Europe between June and August. Murphy's live appearances have been limited in recent years, with a heart attack necessitating the postponement of his 2019 residency at New York venue Le Poisson Rouge. A reformed Bauhaus would later cancel a run of North American dates in 2022 after stating that Murphy would be 'entering a rehabilitation facility to attend to his health and well-being.' In early 2023, the Celebrating David Bowie tour was rescheduled after Murphy underwent 'an unexpected medical procedure,' before he dropped out entirely 'due to ill health and doctor's orders to rest and recover.' In December 2024, an upcoming U.K. and European leg of the same tour was cancelled after it was announced Murphy had 'suddenly taken ill.' Murphy rose to fame as a member of Bauhaus in the late '70s, with their debut single 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' being considered one of the pioneering gothic rock tracks. Bauhaus split in 1983 after releasing four albums, and Murphy launched a solo career in 1986. His third album, 1989's Deep, would peak at No. 44 on the Billboard 200, with the single 'Cuts You Up' reaching No. 55 on the Hot 100 and topping the Modern Rock Tracks chart the following year. Bauhaus' reunions would result in a final album in 2008, with the group releasing their final single, 'Drink the New Wine' in early 2022. In May 2025, Murphy released his latest studio album, Silver Shade, which featured contributions from Boy George alongside members of Tool and Nine Inch Nails. ‘Wicked' Star Cynthia Erivo Fires Back at MAGA Hate for Playing Jesus
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo has some thoughts about the MAGA outrage—fueled by Elon Musk—over her casting as Christ in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. 'You can't please everyone,' the Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-winner told Billboard in a new interview. 'It is legitimately a three-day performance at the Hollywood Bowl where I get to sing my face off. So hopefully they will come and realize, 'Oh, it's a musical, the gayest place on Earth.'' The show will run August 1-3. Many MAGA fans slammed Erivo's Christ casting as 'blasphemy' on social media when her role was first announced in February. What seemed lost on several critics was the tone of the show itself. The 1971 Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera has always been a provocative, at-times critical take on Christ's life, that over time became a cult favorite among queer audiences. Musk seemed to have missed that bit of information as well as he chimed in on X with an eyebrow-raised emoji in reply to an X user who wrote, 'Imagine doing this to any other religion' next to Erivo's casting news. Critics with similar complaints flooded Variety's social media post announcing the casting with one user in the replies called Erivo playing Christ 'anti-Christian bigotry' by 'Hollywood.' But Erivo told Billboard, 'Why not?' as she shrugged off naysayers. 'The more yourself you are, the more you are in front of people who don't necessarily understand, the better understanding starts to happen,' she said. As much as she wants to be 'a person you can get positive things from' since 'that is the only way you can balance this stuff,' she couldn't help getting in a jab at Donald Trump for his takeover of the Kennedy Center, where Erivo played some of the most iconic performances of her career. 'I don't know who gains what from that. I hope that it comes back,' she said. 'It's really sad to have to watch this happen to it. The Kennedy Center is supposed to be a space of creativity and art and music for everyone.' That said, assimilating to appease Trump and his 'anti-woke' mob isn't on the star's to-do list, she added. 'I want to encourage people to not decide to just tuck away and start hiding and not being themselves anymore,' she said, 'because that is exactly what they want.'
