5 Vietnamese nabbed for conducting cosmetic procedures without license

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday announced the arrest of five Vietnamese for unauthorized practice of medicine in Makati City.
According to the NBI, the foreigners were offering cosmetic procedures such as brow lifts, lip surgery, fox eye surgery, under-eye fillers, thread lifts, and upper eyelid surgery on social media.
The NBI confirmed that they were performing the procedures without licenses from the Professional Regulation Commission during a surveillance operation.
Following this, authorities arrested them in an entrapment operation on August 7. They also seized the medical tools and other items used in the procedures.
The five were presented for inquest proceedings for violation of the Medical Act of 1959, in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012; the Food and Drug Administration Act; and the Philippine Pharmacy Act. —VAL, GMA Integrated News

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday announced the arrest of three Chinese for kidnapping and serious illegal detention in Parañaque City. According to the NBI, a complainant filed a complaint that his friend was being unlawfully detained and coerced into working by the three foreigners. The victim was also being threatened with death if he tried to escape. Following this, agents conducted a rescue operation on August 8, leading to the arrest of the three subjects. They also recovered the handcuff used on the victim. Aside from this, authorities discovered live computers. However, initial inspection showed that there was no indication of crypto currency-related or investment scam activities. The NBI said it will apply for a warrant to search and examine computer data in order to subject the computers to digital forensics.
