Rs 1,800-cr rail coach factory to come up near Bhopal
Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Thursday said defence minister Rajnath Singh will perform the "Bhoomi Pujan" and foundation stone laying ceremony of the-state-of-the-art BRAHMA (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) on Aug 10 at Obaidullaganj in Raisen district about 25 km from Bhopal. Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also attend the event, while railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will join virtually. Addressing a press conference at his residence, the CM said, "Railway and metro coaches will be manufactured and supplied across the country and exported abroad. With an investment of about Rs 1,800 crore, the state-of-the-art factory will create direct and indirect employment for over 1,500 people." He said 60.0630 hectares of land has been allocated for this ambitious railway project in Umaria village in Raisen district.
