Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar assures swift resolution of grievances
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, gave a patient ear to the denizens and received petitions during a Public Grievance Redressal programme at Shankaran Hall in the Guntur Collectorate on Monday. On the occasion, Pemmasani stressed that resolving public grievances is primarily the duty of officials. 'This platform, initiated by the Chief Minister, is a meaningful step toward connecting with the people. The resolution of complaints, whether good or bad, rests with the officials. Only when each department sincerely addresses issues will this initiative succeed,' he said. He contrasted the current administration with the previous YSRCP government, stating that officials now work without pressure and with greater autonomy. 'Use this freedom to serve the public and earn their trust,' he urged. Pemmasani added, 'We know what's happening in the field and how complaints are being handled. People must feel assured that their concerns will be addressed by the administration.'

Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar lays stone for BC community hall in Andhra Pradesh
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, along with Tadikonda MLA Tenali Shravan Kumar, on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a Backward Classes (BC) Community Hall in Ravela village. On the occasion, the Union Minister said, 'This facility will serve people from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities,' urging villagers to form a sub-committee to manage and maintain the hall responsibly. He credited philanthropists Sudhanagunta Raghavendra Prasad and Kalyani Prasad, a couple from Prakasam district, for donating Rs 4 crore towards the project. Pemmasani said the community hall was a long-pending aspiration of Ravela residents and highlighted that it would feature modern amenities, including attached toilets. 'This is one of three such halls being provided for the Tadikonda constituency,' the Union Minister added. He also criticised former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to deliver on development. 'In five years, Jagan did nothing except press buttons. Development means building roads, providing clean drinking water, and improving infrastructure. Not misleading people,' he asserted. He hailed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for persistently lobbying in Delhi to secure funds for the State. He expressed confidence that the coalition government would deliver transformative growth over the next 10 to 15 years.

Modern tech crucial to Viksit Bharat 2047: Union Minister Pemmasani
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on Friday said India's transformation into a developed nation by 2047 depends on the effective use of modern technology. Pemmasani along with Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana addressed the valedictory session of a national-level workshop on rural and urban land records digitisation held in Guntur under the Centre's NAKSHA (National Generic Document Registration System) initiative. He described the digitisation of land records as vital for economic development, administrative efficiency, and social justice, especially for rural communities, women, and tribal populations. The Minister commended Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, and four other States for their significant progress, and noted Andhra Pradesh's rapid strides under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's leadership. He said the State now qualifies for key incentive funds and termed the initiative a model of 'collaborative federalism.' He assured continued Central support in terms of policy, funding, and technology. Minister Narayana said the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat 2047' and Chief Minister Naidu's 'Swarna Andhra 2047' visions. He said 10 municipalities covering 524 sq km and 9.5 lakh properties were selected in the pilot phase. Aerial surveys have been completed in eight municipalities, while work is under way in Eluru and Mangalagiri-Tadepalli. Minister Narayana said over 6,000 government properties in Kuppam, Ongole, and Anantapur have been surveyed. Of the 166 rovers required for accurate ground mapping, 158 are operational, and 643 verification teams have been deployed across the State. He said the project would boost urban planning, improve tax systems, and minimise property disputes. Special CS G Jayalakshmi and others participated.

‘Shankar Vilas RoB to be built with quality,' says Union Minister Pemmasani
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on Monday said the proposed Road over Bridge (RoB) at Shankar Vilas in Guntur would be built swiftly and to high standards, addressing safety and traffic concerns. Speaking at a compensation distribution event held by the Guntur Municipal Corporation, he urged citizens to support the project and not be misled by misinformation. He handed over `71 lakh in cheques to 21 property owners who agreed to the project. District Collector S Nagalakshmi, Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, acting Mayor Sheikh Sajeela, MLAs Mohammad Naseer Ahmad, Galla Madhavi, Burla Ramana Janeyulu, and AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Chairman Degala Prabhakar Rao were present. Pemmasani said the current bridge, built in 1950, is structurally weak and delays emergency access to Guntur Government Hospital. The new ROB, approved under fast-track clearances by the Centre and State, will be 930 meters long—more than double the existing 436-meter bridge—and elevated from 5.9 to 9 meters to accommodate double-decker buses. While rejecting proposals for a Railway Under Bridge at the current site due to technical constraints, he said the design allows for one in the future. The project includes a 60-ft underpass at GGH and a 44-ft underpass at Arundelpet 5th Lane. Road widening is underway from Hindu College Centre to Lodge Centre along the 120-ft Master Plan road. Out of 134 affected structures, 36 owners have provided consent so far, including six who had filed court cases. Compensation is being given through cash for structures and Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds for land loss. Utility relocation is ongoing on a set timeline. Local leaders from the TDP, BJP, and JSP expressed support, stating ROB will link East and West Guntur and contribute to the Vision 2047 goal of making Guntur a global city.
