All Hollyoaks spoilers for next week as killer takes a hostage
Comebacks and chaos are on the menu in Hollyoaks next week, as confirmed in my new spoilers, with two familiar faces' returns at the centre of another exciting week.
The beloved Channel 4 soap has been serving hard over the past few months and that's showing no signs of changing, with another whopper on the cards.
But just what are the residents of the eponymous deadly village getting up to during the week in question? What aren't they getting up to would probably be a more appropriate question!
With her cancer in remission and having suffered through the loss of Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) – not to mention the comeback of nemesis Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) – Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) needs nothing more than a quiet week right now.
Unfortunately for her that's not on the cards as instead she gets told that son Bobby (Zak Sutcliffe) has escaped the secure home, prompting a mother and son reunion that she couldn't have predicted.

The walls close in on Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield), meanwhile, as the serial killer faces fresh trauma when his mother all but disowns him – and he gets blackmailed.
And Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) is determined to win back her man in Tony (Nick Pickard)! But with Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) still on the scene, will she succeed?

Prince throws a 'screw you cancer' party in honour of Mercedes, who spoils the surprise when she walks in on the planning. Upon learning of Freddie's role in putting the party together, she tells her family to carry on with the organising.
The party gets underway at Casa, with Myra delivering a heartfelt speech. Mercedes, however, is acting suspiciously and soon proceedings are halted as Donny arrives on official police business, informing Mercy that Bobby has escaped from the secure home, presumably in a social worker's car.
Reeling, Mercedes plans to meet with Bobby.
Jez, meanwhile, is spooked to learn of Dodger's plan to meet with Tori's social worker and thus skips out on Mercedes' party, much to the upset of John Paul.
Dodger meets in the park with the social worker, who is spooked as he admits that Dennis made a confession before his death, revealing that he was being harassed by a member of the Blake clan.
Dodger wonders if it could be Dilly, with Jez delighted to know that he's off the hook. Or at least that's what he thinks – as someone later slips a letter under the door, with smiling Jez left reeling as he discovers someone is blackmailing him.
Elsewhere, Diane and Marie vie for Tony's affection. The two throw insults at one another, with Tony left red-faced.
Mercedes finds Bobby hiding in The Dog. He apologises for everything he's done. Tony, meanwhile, is hurt to discover that Bobby has escaped and he's not alone in that respect, with Goldie arriving back in the village on a mission to ensure Bobby serves the rest of his sentence.
Mercedes is of a similar mindset, urging Bobby to hand himself in so that he can do his time and secure his freedom the right way.
The question is: will he listen?
Elsewhere, Martha washes her hands of Jez, branding the serial killer too hard to love.
Jez appears to be genuinely hurt by his mum's words. Rejected by Martha and with no-one else to confide in about his crimes, he keeps someone prisoner at the shed. More Trending

Time is ticking for Bobby to get out of the village, with work imminently set to commence on The Dog. Donny watches Mercedes closely.

'How Clean is Your House', which aired from 2003 to 2009, opened doors to literary and endorsement deals, and saw Kim appear in various reality TV series. Confirming her passing, her manager said: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness. Five cleaning tips in memory of the scrubbing sensation: Opt for the natural approach. She championed natural cleaning methods, and instead of using harsh chemicals she uses kitchen staples like baking soda and white vinegar. These items became synonymous with her advice over the years, thanks to their skin-friendly properties and less abrasive nature for domestic cleaning. Just 10 minutes every day. In a 2022 interview, the Queen of Clean emphasised the importance of daily maintenance to prevent your home from ending up like the ones on the telly: "10 minutes every day and you can keep everything manageable". She advocated for a 'little and often' routine, urging folk to dedicate just ten minutes a day or alternatively to "clean as you go". Focus on the kitchen. Woodburn stated that instant attention to messes and regular wiping of appliances is crucial in the kitchen. Viewers first noticed that something was wrong when Debbie began forgetting dates and muddling up appointments. Things got more serious when she began to suffer random blackouts. The character saw a doctor about her symptoms earlier this year and was informed that she had young-onset dementia. The show icon was understandably shaken by the news, and chose to keep it a secret from her family for a number of weeks. 'She wants to keep it to herself for as long as possible,' actress Sue Devaney explained on Lorraine. 'She's going, 'I've been diagnosed with this, so how am I going to cope with it? I'll find out how I cope with it and then I'll tell my family.' She's gone about it that way.' Debbie has been so determined to keep her secret that she even went so far as to dump boyfriend Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), as she didn't want him to end up caring for her. In upcoming scenes, Debbie will finally reveal all as her storyline continues. Though fans were worried that Debbie would be killed off in the coming months, Sue has set minds at rest by confirming that this isn't the case at all. EXCLUSIVE Sunday Brunch BANS guests from being photographed holding cutlery in case it celebrates knife crime, Frank Skinner says
Comedian Frank Skinner says Channel 4 has banned guests on Sunday Brunch from being photographed holding cutlery because it could be seen as 'celebrating knife crime '. Skinner, 68, appeared on the Sunday morning show - hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer - in June last year, alongside fellow guests Kellie Shirley, Steven Moffat, Yvette Fielding and Alexandra Burke. Speaking about his experience on his podcast Frank Off The Radio with co-hosts podcaster Emily Dean and comedian Pierre Novellie, he revealed the weekly publicity shots have strict rules on how they are taken. The trio were discussing chef encounters when Skinner revealed that bosses on the show fear sharing photos featuring knives over a potential backlash. He said: 'When you do Sunday brunch and you pose for the photos, the publicity photos, they always say ' you have to put the knife down.' 'You can't be photographed holding a knife because of current sensitivities and like celebrating knife crime.' His co-hosts erupted into laughter and Emily Dean said: 'Is that right?' Pierre Novellie said: 'Well they're not going to use that photo on the news when you go on a rampage.' Skinner responded: 'They might be glad, it might come in handy if you go on a rampage.' Previous promo shots for the show have seen celebrities posing with branded mugs, sometimes with cutlery on a napkin nearby. But they are never pictured digging into meals, and the chefs are not seen with knives. When Skinner appeared on the show last year, he horrified viewers as he shared a favourite snack he enjoys tucking into on a silver platter. The lid was lifted to reveal a dish of bananas with a side of mustard powder. Describing the recipe, he said: 'I was on a show where we had powdered mustard and just for the hell of it, I dipped a banana in to see what it would be like – and it actually tasted great. 'Sort of a sweet and sour thing going on.' He previously also appeared on the show in 2019, alongside former One Direction band member Liam Payne, who died after plunging from a balcony on October 16 last year. The reluctance to show knives on screen comes as figures show there were 50,500 criminal offences recorded involving a knife or other sharp object in England and Wales in the year to March 2024. This was a 4.4 percent increase on the year before, but still 2.8 percent lower than the record high of 2019/2020. There were 244 murders involving a knife or sharp object in the same regions in the year to 2023, the latest data available. Skinner's podcast Frank Off The Radio followed his departure from Absolute Radio after 15 years, bringing his Saturday morning breakfast show with Dean and Novellie to a close. He said at the time he had not wanted to leave but was asked to depart by radio bosses. Speaking during his final show in May last year, he apologised to listeners, saying he was sorry the team was leaving, and added: 'It's pretty well-documented, I don't want to go.' Joking he'd spent his redundancy money on Lego Avengers, he then signed off for good, saying: 'You've been the best audience ever. I can't do the 'we'll be back next week', because we won't, we'll never be back. But I love you all. Bye bye.' A spokesperson for Banijay, the production company behind Sunday Brunch, declined to comment.
