Ncuti Gatwa's emotional message after Glastonbury trans speech during Jade set

Former Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa has returned to social media following his Glastonbury role of introducing Jade Thirlwall to the stage for her debut solo set at Worthy Farm Former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa returned to social media following his Glastonbury appearance. The actor took to the stage on Saturday to introduce Jade Thirlwall for her debut solo performance at Worthy Farm. And following his role, he took to Instagram to share his delight. He wrote on the platform: "Glastonbury for the girls and the gays. Had the honour of introducing @jadethirlwall for her EPIC set." ‌ He went on: "Jade your talent and power is insane. You're a megastar already. But that. That was the birth of you going absolutely cosmic. It's a pop girly emergency." ‌ It comes after his surprise appearance to introduce the former Little Mix member to the crowd at the Woodsies stage. At the time, the 32-year-old offered up a speech that included explicit tributes to the trans community. In it, he said: "I I hope you bi****s are f***ing ready! Ladies and gentlemen, they's and them's. All our beautiful trans brothers and sisters. The performance is about to begin." He went on to label Jade as "pop's new crown princess". And he also told the crowd: "Flash photography and video is encouraged. Enjoy the show." Jade's show went down a treat with her fans too. In the explosive set, Jade used her performance to boldly express her disdain for Reform UK. As she delivered a rousing rendition of her hit FUFN, she wasn't shy of letting her feelings be known. The track, an acronym for 'F*** you for now', features a segment where JADE reels off a list of things she'd like to give the middle finger to. ‌ And during her set, she chanted: "Reform! Transphobia! Selling arms! Genocide!" Her words toward to the crowd were met by them echoing back a resounding "F**** you". Elsewhere, she was emotional as she sang Angel of My Dreams. She told her fans while fighting back tears: "This song [Angel of My Dreams] is literally me as a song, so thank you for showing me that that's enough." ‌ The tune delves into the peaks and troughs of JADE's 15-year career. It features lyrics stating: "selling my soul to a SYCO, they say I'm so lucky". SYCO refers to Simon Cowell's record label, under which JADE was signed as part of Little Mix for their initial five albums. She dressed in a large fur hat, green jeans, and a white T-shirt emblazoned with "GLASTO", and also took a moment to pay tribute to her former Little Mix bandmates. She said: "I can't begin to explain how grateful I am to those girls for literally changing my life. And who would have thought, eh? That we'd have a Little Mix girlie up here on the Glastonbury stage. " The performance was an overall hit and fans were quick to praise her efforts on social media. One user on Twitter /X gushed: "She killed it! I love that the crowd knew her songs and that she mentioned Little Mix too." Another added: ""That #Glastonbury set from JADE is the type that makes you go... yup, Pyramid stage soon". And a third said: "JADE screaming "FU to justifying genocide" to a sell out crowd at Glastonbury is honestly so iconic and one of the many reasons she is my absolute favourite".

Rod Stewart's subtle nod to wife Penny Lancaster during Glastonbury Legends set

Rod Stewart took to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Sunday for his Legends slot and appeared to give a sweet nod to his wife Penny Lancaster near to start of his set Sir Rod Stewart appeared to give a touching nod to his wife Penny Lancaster during his jam-packed entertained the swarm of festival goers set on Sunday. The 80-year-old rocker entertained the swarm of festival goers who assembled at the Pyramid Stage in the sweltering heat. And as Rod worked his way through his impressive back catalogue, he also chucked in some classics from elsewhere too in the almost 90-minutes-long set. And, near the start of his show, he threw in the classic First Cut Is The Deepest. ‌ The tune by Cat Stephens was initially recorded by Rod in 1976. And he superbly entertained the crowd with it was again. ‌ But for eagle-eyed fans, it appeared as though he gave a sweet nod towards his wife of 18 years, Penny. While singing the line: "I still want you by my side," Rod pointed off stage and gave a wry smile. It comes after Penny had been seen earlier in the day posing with fans of the singer. The group posed for snaps with the former Loose Women panellist, 54, while wearing wigs to look like the iconic musician. Elsewhere in his emphatic set, Rod welcomed fellow music icons Mick Hucknall, Ronnie Wood and Lulu to the stage. There was also a beautiful tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie. Rod paid tribute to the legendary musician who died in November 2022 by projecting her face on the big screen and singing one of her hit tunes. Despite the impressive performance, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the veteran artist. Prior to LuLu joining him on stage, he incorrectly announced her at an earlier segment. As he introduced Ronnie Wood and then Lulu, guitarist Ronnie quickly made his way on stage but Lulu was nowhere to be seen. ‌ The icon quickly retracted his comments and said 'oh Lulu is coming on in a bit' as Ronnie grabbed his guitar and played for the huge crowd. Lulu did arrive moments later to sing Hot Legs with Rod in her stunning white suit. In another slight mishap, Rod seemingly missed his timing during hit song Maggie May. The singer seemed to come in too early as he sang the huge hit, but that didn't stop fans from getting involved. The rendition received the biggest singalong of the set from the bumper crowd, which was packed to the rafters. ‌ Despite the slight errors, Rod's performance was well received overall. One social media user on Twitter /X commented: "Like him or not. Rod Stewart has still got it!! He's a showman, great entertainer, and can work a crowd. You go Rod! ! Big shout out to his Band. # bbc #RodStewart #uk" Throughout the appearance, Rod was forced to change his outfit three times to deal with the sweltering heat. After starting the set in a white shirt and black jacket, he switched to a bright pink suit. He then opted for an emerald green outfit to end, with his shift showcasing his love of Celtic.

They tried to get rid of me, but they didn't. There is a record executive sweating their t*** off with Matt Healy's mum. 'They're scared of me. I like that. But I was made of mother f****** bricks. But they didn't believe me. I even gave them a second warning a few years later when I told them 'Do not underestimate the girl'. Is it my fault they didn't believe me? 'I'm not going to give my third warning. It's too late for that. I'm taking my bricks and I'm throwing them through the f****** window.' Denise was at Glastonbury this weekend to support her son Matt Healy who was headlining with his band The 1975. Matt meanwhile preached love to fans during the band's set on the Pyramid Stage. Pausing between songs to address the crowd on Friday night, he said: "The lack of politics in this show, it is a conscious decision. "We don't want our legacy to be one of politics - we want it to be that of love and friendship. "You go out into the world and there is loads of politics. We don't need more, we need more love and friendship. "If you are a young kid and inspired about this band, aspire for friendship and love in what you do and you will never fail - and I love you." The 1975's Matty Healy slammed by fans for performing with pint and a fag as parents ban kids from watching_1 She said the extra money meant she wouldn't have to compromise on things like staff wages and safe tour buses that aren't overcrowded. Kate said she was determined to put on a "high quality show for fans" and said of her money-making campaign: "I've got a great bum. "I often flash a bit anyway so it was a fun idea, but I didn't think it would get this much of a reaction." She previously revealed she found herself in financial difficulty. The Brit School alum told The Guardian of the dip in her success after Foundations and said: "I'd trusted the wrong people with my money, which meant I had to sell my flat and move back in with my parents. "I'd worked so hard and had nothing to show for it. The worst part was that I knew I wasn't going to give up. "I briefly thought I should become a teacher instead, but then I realised: 'How are you going to do that? You don't even have a degree because you didn't get into any universities.' "Having this career is about fighting your way through it."
