Brahmos instrumental in Op Sindoor: Rajnath
Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that the Brahmos missile proved instrumental in Operation Sindoor and since then, more than a dozen countries have expressed interest in it. Singh said this at an event in Lucknow where he unveiled a statue of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Chandra Bhanu Gupta at the National PG College and released a postage stamp in tribute to him. "Just a few days ago, I inaugurated a Brahmos airspace integration and testing facility in Lucknow. You must have seen that in Operation Sindoor, Brahmos missile has done a miraculous job and not only this, after the miracle shown by Brahmos missile, about 14-15 countries of the world have demanded Brahmos missile from India," Singh said. "Brahmos missile will now be exported from Lucknow as well. I believe that this facility will strengthen our country's self-reliance in the defence sector, and at the same time, it will also create employment. My effort is that more industries should also come here so that, along with Lucknow, the state also develops rapidly," he said. The minister claimed that UP was attracting more and more industries on the back of strong law and order and infrastructural robustness. "Historical changes are taking place in infrastructure. Expressway, airport, metro, medical college, all these are presenting a new picture of development," he said. Singh, who is the Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow, also showered praise on Chandra Bhanu Gupta, who served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for three terms. "Chandra Bhanu Gupta ji started as a simple worker in the freedom movement and made a place in the hearts of millions of people through his sacrifice, commitment and leadership. Chandra Bhanu Gupta's life tells us that power does not mean only position or authority, but responsibility, sacrifice and protecting the interests of the public. "His life also gives us the message that there may be differences in politics, but there should not be animosity," he said. Singh, who is also a former UP CM, said the postage stamp was not only a tribute to Chandra Bhanu Gupta, but also a tribute to his "high life values." "It is a message that service, simplicity and honesty have been important in Indian politics and will remain important in the future too," he said. Singh said Chandra Bhanu Gupta's vision and agenda were never regional, always nationalistic. "Chandra Bhanu ji was not in power for very long (time). But in the short time he was in power, he gave priority to public welfare works. He was always known for his integrity," he said. Lucknow Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday highlighted the significance of the newly inaugurated BrahMos Aerospace integration and testing facility in Lucknow, calling it a major step toward strengthening India's self-reliance in the defence sector. "Just a few days ago, I inaugurated the integration and testing facility of BrahMos Aerospace in Lucknow. This facility will strengthen our country's self-reliance in the defence sector and also create employment," Singh said at a public event in Lucknow. Singh commended Uttar Pradesh for the improved law and order situation, which he said is encouraging investments and industrial growth. "Historical changes are taking place in infrastructure. Expressway, airport, metro, medical college—all these are presenting a new picture of development," the Defence minister added. Singh also unveiled a statue of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Bhanu Gupta and also released a commemorative postage stamp in his honour. He praised Gupta's contributions to public life and his enduring legacy.

According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli strike targeted a high-level meeting of Iran's Supreme National Security Council in western Tehran, where President Masoud Pezeshkian and the heads of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the government, along with other senior officials, were in attendance. Live Events The building's entrances and exits were hit by six missiles to block escape routes and cut off air flow. Electricity was severed following the explosions, but Iranian officials managed to escape through a pre-designated emergency hatch, including the president, who is said to have sustained minor leg injuries while evacuating, as per Al Jazeera. The news agency said authorities launched an investigation into the possible presence of Israeli spies, given the accuracy of the intelligence the "enemy" possessed. Meanwhile, in an interview last week with US media figure Tucker Carlson, Pezeshkian said Israel tried to assassinate him. "They did try, yes ... but they failed," he said. "It was not the United States that was behind the attempt on my life. It was Israel. I was in a meeting... They tried to bombard the area in which we were holding that meeting." The comments come less than a month after Israel launched its unprecedented June 13 bombing campaign against Iran, killing top military commanders and nuclear scientists. According to Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, at least 1,060 people were killed in Iran during the conflict. The Israeli attacks drew waves of retaliatory drone and missile fire, killing 28 people in Israel, according to authorities. Iran targeted Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones before the US brokered a ceasefire.

Trump says US will send Ukraine Patriot air defense systems
President Donald Trump on Sunday said the United States would send Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine to help it fight off a Russian invasion, as his relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin soured. "We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need," Trump said, without specifying how many, just two weeks after Washington said it would pause some arms deliveries to Kyiv. "I haven't agreed on the number yet, but they're going to have some because they do need protection," he told reporters. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Baca Undo The weapons delivery will be part of a new deal which Trump says will involve NATO paying the United States for some of the weapons it sends to Ukraine. "We basically are going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military and they're going to pay us 100 percent for them," Trump told reporters. Live Events The US president repeated that he was "disappointed" in Putin. When he first returned to the White House in January Trump insisted he could work with the Russian leader to end the war, but grew increasingly frustrated as Russian missiles continued with no ceasefire in sight. "Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening," said the disgruntled Trump. US special envoy Keith Kellogg is due to begin his latest visit to Ukraine on Monday. Trump also said he would meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Monday, when he previously said he would make a "major statement... on Russia."
