'AIN'T NO DAMN WAY!': KAYTRANADA's Return to Form

Summary As of late,KAYTRANADA's sonics have taken a flurry of different forms. On his most recent album, last year's acclaimedTimeless, the multitalented musician focused intently on the R&B influences on his artistry, while before that, on Grammy-winningBubba,he took an entirely different approach to the the project's production, fostering an in-person, in-real-time collaborative process for each track, connecting with every featured artist in the studio. But if you asked Kay himself, his most authentic, stripped-down form is an electronic music producer, with roots enshrouded in the dancefloor but an influence that has extended far beyond the confines of the genre. KAYTRANADA's new album is all about harkening back to these roots, a collection of club-ready cuts that channel the dancey early-career sound he championed. EntitledAIN'T NO DAMN WAY!,the album signals a return to form, dripping with dancefloor-driven production and ridden with retro flair. Fluid in its 12-track structure, each cut blends effortlessly into the next like one long live set, breathing a refreshing new life into a nostalgic curation of '90s samples and subgenres. Predominantly an instrumental project, the spotlight shines not on creative collaborations or lyricism, but on Kay's sleek production and sampling tactics. 'Letting y'all know that this album is strictly for workouts, dancing, and studying, and for my people that love beats,' he wrote in an Instagram story earlier this week. The first single on the tracklist is 'SPACE INVADER,' the album's sole pre-release single that kicks offAIN'T NO DAMN WAY!,a cohesive and immersive listen all the way through to the closing track, 'DO IT! Mandy Moore says she and her husband turned losing their home in the LA wildfires into a 'big adventure' for their 3 kids

One of Mandy Moore's biggest parenting lessons came from the LA fires that badly damaged her home earlier this year. Moore has two sons and a daughter with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith. Her daughter was three months old when the fires happened. In an interview with Parents published on Thursday, the actor spoke about how she guided her family through the crisis. "You realize that, of course, everyone is incredibly resilient — the kids especially," Moore told Parents. "We just treated it as a big adventure. You have to model the behavior to them because they pick up on your energy, they're little energy sponges." Moore said she broke the news gently to her kids by steering their attention toward how exciting their new home would be. "We told the boys we were going to stay somewhere else for a little while because the fire hurt our house — 'but look at this incredible bunk bed at this new house that you guys get to sleep in. This is so much fun!'" Moore said, recalling her words. "That was a total distraction, and they loved it." Seeing her kids adapt to the change made her realize that "home is truly just where they are," she said. Her in-laws also lost their home in the fires. "We've all been under the same roof during these past eight months, and we never would've spent that kind of time with each other otherwise," Moore said. "We've all tried to find the silver lining, and that definitely has been it for us. There's so much peace in being grateful that we're OK, our animals are OK, and stuff is just stuff," she added. In January, multiple wildfires swept through the Los Angeles area, burning over 40,000 acres and forcing over 200,000 people to evacuate. The largest of the wildfires ripped through the wealthy Pacific Palisades neighborhood, destroying homes belonging to celebrities including Paris Hilton, Miles Teller, and Anthony Hopkins. In an Instagram post in January, Moore said the fires destroyed her family's studio, garage, and back house. Although the main house remained, it was "not livable," she wrote in her caption.

Lizzo Flaunts Weight Loss in Tight Biker Shorts but Some Fans Are Furious: Here's Why

Lizzo Flaunts Weight Loss in Tight Biker Shorts but Some Fans Are Furious: Here's Why originally appeared on Parade. Lizzo is totally embracing her new figure as she recently dropped a considerable amount of weight — and she's been showing it off on Instagram. On August 8, Lizzo posted a collaboration with Yitty activewear on her account. She wore a pair of tight green biker shorts and a fitted white sports bra and matching long sleeve top in an ad meant to promote the company. "If you want Yitty activewear, you can now get it at Walmart," Lizzo said in the video. And while some fans praised Lizzo, 37, for her consistency and her apparent hard work, others were upset that she promoted Walmart. The reason? "Corporate greed, companies that have rolled back their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and President Donald Trump's efforts to eliminate federal DEI programs since taking office," according to USA Today. The comments section on Lizzo's post quickly filled up with people letting her know that they won't be supporting Walmart. "No lizzo love you but we're still mad at walmart," one person wrote. "But, we are not shopping there," someone else said. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! That just ruined the brand. I mean I'm sure you'll be making money but this really just tarnished it," a third comment read. "We are NOT shopping at Walmart… what is wrong with you?!? Read the room," a fourth Instagram user hasn't responded to people commenting about Walmart. However, she did recently open up about her weight loss and how she's feeling. 'I like how I look now. I still think I'm big. I'm still wearing plus-size clothing. I have the same rolls. I got the same belly, the same thighs – I think I'm just a smaller version," she said in an interview with Women's Health UK. 'Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same. Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn't exist," she added.
