Melania Trump's fashion favorites: First lady's most and LEAST expensive wardrobe pieces revealed

Daily Mail28-07-2025
Long before she became the First Lady, Melania Trump was known around New York for her timeless style - and it's only evolved since she's stepped into the White House.
When she first married Donald Trump, she seemed to have a penchant for silky, colorful dresses as she attended some of Manhattan's most exclusive events, like the short, slinky, bright pink dress she Breast Cancer Research Foundation's hot pink party in 2005.
But now, times have changed, and Melania seems to be all business, donning elegant dresses and pantsuits, as well as expensive yet elevated accessories.
As the First Lady, 55, she's been known to be a fan of certain designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Ralph Lauren.
During President Trump's inauguration into his first term in 2017, she donned a powder blue, cashmere dress with a wrap overcoat and matching gloves made by Ralph Lauren.
In 2016, she spoke to Elle Magazine about the various challenges of dressing for a campaign, telling the outlet over email that she doesn't find it to be hard at all.
'I don't find it to be challenging,' she said at the time. 'I style myself and choose what to wear based on what I feel good in it.'
Now, FEMAIL has rounded up all of Melania's fashion favorites since being in The White House, from most expensive to least expensive.

MOST EXPENSIVE
Hermès Matte Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 25 Black Bag: $50,000
One of, if not the most, expensive pieces in Melania's closet appears to be the Hermès Matte Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 25 in Black.
The bag is a rarity, as it's made of one of the brand's most coveted materials: crocodile skin.
According to Fashionphile, a high-end consignment boutique, their bags made with crocodile skin typically go for more than three times the traditional leather ones that are for sale.
Online, these bags can be priced on secondhand websites for over $100,000.
It seems to be a staple in Melania's closet, too, as she has been seen wearing it multiple times over the past few years.
She famously sported the purse when she and Trump departed the White House on inauguration day in January 2021, as Joe Biden entered his presidency.
Melania paired the bag with a black, knee-length skirt and cropped tweed jacket, along with a pair of black gloves and sky-high black Christian Louboutin heels.

She also wore the bag in 2019, when she and her husband joined then-prime minister Theresa May and her husband Philip for a meeting in London
At the time, the couple were headed off to Mar-a-Lago, where they stayed when their days in The White House were over.
She also wore the bag in 2019, when she and her husband joined then-prime minister Theresa May and her husband Philip for a meeting in London.
She paired it with her favorite Celine trench coat, but it was the bag, which has gold detail on it, that really made a statement.
Floral Dolce & Gabbana jacket: $51,500
In 2017, Melania pulled out all the stops as she donned a dramatic coat by Dolce & Gabbana that was covered in silk, 3D floral appliques.
Oh, and did we mention that it cost $51,500?
According to Business Insider, just purchasing the jacket cost a deposit of $25,750.
She wore the colorful jacket while visiting Sicily, Italy, during the 2017 G7 Summit, which convenes leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Melania sported the fancy coat, which featured bold red, purple, green, white and blue florals when sightseeing around the city with the other spouses of world leaders.
The jacket also featured bedazzled, embroidered flowers on it.
She paired the coat with a matching clutch bag that had the same exact florals sewn onto it.
At the time, the expensive jacket sparked a lot of controversy, as many pointed out that it was worth more than the monthly salary of many Americans.
J. Mendel gown she wore to a 2018 visit to Great Britain: $6,990
During husband Donald Trump's official visit to Britain in 2018, Melania donned a Grecian-style, lemon yellow $6,990 gown by designer J.Mendel to a state dinner at Blenheim Palace.
The whimsical gown featured a long, off-the-shoulder cape, and knotted detailing at the waist.
It appeared to be made of chiffon, and Melania matched the look with a pair of yellow Manolo Blahnik heels.
Per Today, she chose the color yellow in honor of Queen Elizabeth, whose favorite color was reportedly yellow.
Of course, she accessorized with her $4 million engagement ring and a pair of sparkling diamond studs in her ears.

Controversial 'I really don't care, do u?' jacket from Zara: $39.99
In 2018, Melania made headlines and sparked outrage across the world as she donned a $39 jacket from Zara that read, 'I really don't care, do u?' on its back while on her way to visit children separated from their families at the Mexico border.
The jacket was a military-green, army-style jacket, and the crass words were spray painted on the back in white.
The first lady's surprise visit to a children's shelter - where a handful of the 55 children it houses had been taken from their parents - was intended to underline her compassion for children, and came after she lobbied Trump to end separations.
But instead, it was overshadowed by the former model's choice of jacket.
At the time, her husband claimed that the message was really one that was for the 'fake news media.'
In 2018, Melania made headlines and sparked outrage across the world as she donned a $39 jacket from Zara that read, 'I really don't care, do u?' on its back while on her way to visit children separated from their families at the Mexico border
''I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO YOU?' written on the back of Melania's jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares,' he tweeted at the time.
However, in her 2024 self-titled memoir, Melania, claimed it that the jacket was meant to protest against 'anonymously sourced reporting.'
'I was determined… not to let the media's false narratives affect my mission to help the children and families at the border,' she wrote.
'In fact, I decided to let them know that their criticism would never stop me from doing what I feel is right. To make the point, I wore a particular jacket as I boarded the plane, a jacket that quickly became famous,' she added.
Melania recounts how when the plane door closed, her press secretary's inbox was 'flooded with urgent emails from top-tier media outlets regarding the jacket.'
'It's a message for the media,' I said, 'to let them know I was unconcerned with their opinions of me' [but] she told me I couldn't say that. 'Why not? It is the truth.'' Melania wrote about their exchange.
'I disagreed with her insistence that I couldn't say that,' the First Lady wrote. 'Ignoring my comments, she told a CNN reporter she was friendly with that it was simply a jacket, a fashion choice with no underlying message.'
The mom-of-one wrote that the frenzy over the jacket 'overshadowed the importance of the children, the border, and the policy change.' She called it 'just another example of the media's irresponsible behavior.'
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers: $50
Although Melania owns her fair share of designer heels, when it's time to get comfy, she's been proven to be a fan of Converse shoes, which typically range from around $50 to $100, depending on the style.
She's been known to wear low-top Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, which typically are priced anywhere from $50 to $60.
The First Lady appears to own the sneakers in all different colors, too - white, gray and black.
Most recently, she sported a pair of gray Chuck Taylors when she accompanied her husband to Texas to visit devastation from the flash floods.
She matched the shoes with a pair of army-green pants and light khaki coat by Dolce and Gabbana.
In 2017, she wore her white pair of low-top Converse as she visited those who had been impacted by Hurricane Irma.
She paired the shoes with a casual, green button-up shirt and white skinny jeans.
FLOTUS hat: $20
In 2017, Melania stepped out in perhaps the least expensive item she's ever worn - a black baseball cap that simply read, 'FLOTUS' on it, short for First Lady of the United States, of course.
At the time, she was stepping off of Air Force One with her husband, and paired the hat with a pair of aviator sunglasses and crisp white button down.
It's unclear exactly where she bought her hat, but there are now tons of websites that sell extremely similar versions, some for even less than $20.
You could even customize your own for $12 on Amazon.

Meghan Markle's As Ever brand posts gushing birthday tribute to praise 'the woman behind it all'

Meghan Markle 's As Ever brand has posted a gushing birthday tribute as the entrepreneur turns 44 years old. The Duchess' own lifestyle company took to Instagram with a black and white snapshot of the mom-of-two wearing a sundress and hat as she beamed into the distance. The caption enthused about Meghan and her role leading the company. 'Celebrating the woman behind it all,' it read. 'She pours her heart, vision and magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder.' It was then re-shared on As Ever's Instagram Story alongside two champagne flutes clinking together in celebration. Meghan launched her lifestyle brand earlier this year, releasing the first products in April, which included a range of teas, a raspberry spread, and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, amongst other things. She followed it up with an apricot spread and another honey, and in July, she expanded into the world of alcohol when she dropped her own wine - the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé. Each release has been met with fierce excitement from her fans, and every product has sold out pretty quickly. And her birthday comes just days after she announced another product coming to her As Ever line. Last week, the company revealed that following the buzz surrounding the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, it will be launching another wine, with a slight tweak... calling it the 2024 Napa Valley Rosé. It vowed that it will pretty much taste the same as As Ever's first wine. 'It marries the same harmony of notes from our first blend and creates an elegant medley of delicate yet memorable flavor,' read a press release. 'You'll want to clink glasses with friends as the sun sets, toasting to a summer of joy. 'Barefoot or in sandals, dressed up or dressed down, this rosé may become your favorite accessory for alfresco lunches and dinners at dusk.' In the release, As Ever listed some of the positive feedback customers had given the company over its first rosé, which included comments like, '10 out of 10,' 'perfect,' and 'elevated flavor.' Meghan launched her lifestyle brand earlier this year, releasing the first products in April, which included a range of teas, a raspberry spread, and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, amongst other things 'This affirmed all of the love, time and effort our team, and our founder, poured into curating this blend to evoke the sun drenched spirit of Napa Valley, and the breathtaking tenor of the California Coast,' As Ever added. 'Thank you for filling our cup. Now it's time for us to fill your glass! We are pleased to share that our 2024 Napa Valley Rosé will be available for purchase next week.' Last month, Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the alcoholic beverage is made by Fairwinds Estate, a California winery that creates bespoke wines for celebrities. The 2023 Napa Valley Rosé is described on the bottle as a 'delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.' It has a 14.5 percent alcohol by volume for the 750ML bottle. The Daily Mail FEMAIL team tried the rosé and while the wine was smooth, we couldn't easily detect the notes of stone fruit. In fact, it tasted quite bland, and almost water-y. In addition, the rosé had some acidic notes, leaving a somewhat uncomfortable sensation at the back of our throats after swallowing. In the end, the verdict was the wine lacked flavor and tasted affordable and ordinary. It wasn't terrible - but it certainly wasn't great.

Denise Richards shows up at ex Aaron Phypers' HOUSE just days after taking out restraining order on him

Denise Richards made a shock visit to estranged husband Aaron Phypers' LA home on Sunday - days after taking out a temporary restraining order on him. The 54-year-old actress, whose split from Phypers, 52, was revealed last month, was granted the TRO on July 16, after accusing Phypers of years of physical and emotional abuse - which he has denied. The court ordered Phypers to stay 100 yards away from Richards and her homes, workplaces and cars - but Richards was seen arriving at Phypers' Calabasas home 'to pick up a dog' before she was confronted by police in photos obtained by TMZ. Sources told the publication Richards arrived 'unannounced' at the home and 'started banging on a back door, demanding to be let inside.' Phypers saw this and immediately left due to concern over the restraining order. Phypers' parents let Richards inside and it was claimed she 'barged in, demanded the dog' and 'screamed at his parents that they needed to get out of the house, putting her finger in their faces.' The publication claims she allegedly began 'swinging' at Phypers' brother Brett and 'throwing mail at him.' Brett was later pictured standing by Richards' parked Corvette as they waited for police. Richards was seen being questioned by three Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies outside the home, with police concluding 'there was no crime committed and no arrests were made.' A distraught Phypers was seen consoling his 'terrified and shaken up' mom after Richards' visit - which marks the latest explosive chapter in the pair's acrimonious divorce. In California, victims named as the 'protected person' in a restraining order will not get into trouble for contacting the person against whom the order was taken out. However, the person who is restrained by the order may use it as evidence to dismiss the order in future court proceedings. Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Denise Richards for comment and has yet to hear back. After Aaron filed divorce paperwork on July 7, Denise hit back a week later with a request for a temporary restraining order (which she was granted) that included a laundry list of domestic abuse allegations — all of which her husband has denied. Her estranged husband has since denied all allegations of abuse, while a source close to Phypers told the Daily Mail that her black eye was actually the result of a drunken fall. The two starred together on their family reality TV show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things with her daughters Sami, 21, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13 He said he is waiting for an upcoming August court hearing in which a judge will decide if the order is lifted, and until then, he is banned from going near his estranged wife and their adopted daughter Eloise, 14, whom he says he adores and misses terribly. It comes days after Phypers alleged that she has been having a months-long affair with a former special forces soldier named Rudy Reyes. He claimed in a detailed letter to 'family and close friends' that Reyes has showered her with X-rated photos and videos, including a graphic clip that shows him naked and pleasuring himself. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, the Wild Things actress' outraged husband claimed he caught wind of his wife's alleged affair in April. He said she had promised to break it off, only for him to catch her lying about another hook-up with 53-year-old Rudy that took place at a Hilton Garden Inn in Burbank, California, the following month. He claimed his discovery of the May tryst then led to an explosive argument over the July 4th holiday weekend, during which she smashed his phone. Phypers was the founder of the Malibu wellness center, Q360 Club (also known as Quantum 360), until he chose to shut it down last year, on October 1, 2024. According to his petition for divorce, filed on July 7, he has not made any income since. Richards, allegedly makes $250,000 per month from being on OnlyFans, TV shows, having brand deals and doing appearances, he noted in the income and expense declaration obtained by the Daily Mail. He's requesting spousal support since he alleges his monthly expenses total $105,000, and is demanding he and Richards split 50 percent of their production company, Smoke & Mirrors Entertainment.

Audio of Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson arguments from Marriage Story used to scare off wolves in the US

Marriage Story, Noah Baumbach's drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver as a divorcing couple engaged in a raging custody battle, won universal acclaim from critics and numerous awards, including six Oscar nominations and one win, for Laura Dern's barnstorming attorney. But perhaps the highest honour has just been revealed by the Wall Street Journal, which reports that audio of the central couple screaming at one another has been judged so upsetting it is now being used to deter wolves from attacking livestock. 'I need the wolves to respond and know that, hey, humans are bad,' a US Department of Agriculture district supervisor in Oregon told the WSJ. His teams employ 'drone cowhands, whose quadcopters have thermal cameras that can reveal any wolf lurking in the darkness'. The predator is then spotlit and treated to audio blasted over a loudspeaker. Aside from Baumbach-scripted acid insults, tracks include fireworks, gunshots and AC/DC's Thunderstruck. The practice is know as 'wolf hazing' and is employed rather than culling as grey wolves are on the federal government's list of endangered species. Happily, Driver and Johansson's Academy Award-nominated performances have proved just as impactful for canines as humans. 'Drones were deployed in the Klamath Basin of southern Oregon after 11 cows were killed by wolves there in a 20-day period,' reports the WSJ. 'Over the next 85 days, when drones were on patrol, only two were killed.' Other emotionally volatile high-points in the 2019 film include Driver's feeling rendition of Steven Sondheim's Being Alive and Dern's caustic broadside about the double standards by which mothers and fathers are judged (which found an echo in America Ferrera's speech in the 2023 film Barbie, which was also co-written by Baumbach). It is not believed either of these moments are also being broadcast to pests. Marriage Story premiered at the Venice film festival in 2019 and was named on many critics' best of the year lists, coming second on the Guardian's year-end roundup. In his five star review of the film, Peter Bradshaw singled out the 'central rage-filled confrontation' for praise. 'This does feel theatrical,' he wrote, 'but in such a lucid and intelligent way.'
