Furious Aaron Rodgers rants about ‘f—king ridiculous' noise over mysterious wife as she remains private

New York Posta day ago

Newlywed Aaron Rodgers tore into critics Tuesday on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' where he called the entitlement of information regarding his personal life 'f–king ridiculous' as his mysterious wife remains out of the spotlight.
In his first appearance on the ESPN program in two months, Rodgers — who revealed in early June that he's a married man — explained that the person he married will remain private, even as the outside noise surrounding the union intensifies.
'My private life is my private life and it's going to stay that way, and I'm with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out and there's a picture, she'll choose that,' the new Steelers quarterback said.

The four-time league MVP initially stirred buzz about his marital status at the beginning of the month, when he sported a black band on his left ring finger in a Steelers portrait after agreeing to a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the team.
Rodgers has been dating a woman named Brittani as of December 2024.

The quarterback, who has been in high-profile relationships with actresses Shailene Woodley, Olivia Munn and retired NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, added his other half wishes to remain out of the spotlight — something he intends to do upon calling it a career as early as next year.
'When this is all done, I'm out. You won't see me. And I know that I've chosen to be in the public eye for one more season, but my private life is staying private,' said Rodgers, who revealed Tuesday his upcoming Steelers season will likely be his last in the NFL.

Since taking part in Pittsburgh's minicamp this month, Rodgers has returned to Southern California, where he's hit the beach — albeit, without his significant other — on different occasions.
The Steelers will report back to Pittsburgh for training camp in July as they prepare for their first season with Rodgers under center.
They'll visit Rodgers' former Jets team in the season opener on Sept. 7.
Rodgers missed much of his first Jets season after suffering an Achilles injury in Week 1 of 2023. He played in all 17 regular-season games last year, throwing for 28 touchdowns and against 11 interceptions.
He spent the first 18 years of his NFL career with the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers defends his wife amid increased interest in their personal life

Aaron Rodgers wants his personal life to stay private. The 41-year-old NFL star appeared on the June 24 episode of the 'Pat McAfee Show' where he slammed the media for their lack of 'common decency' in their coverage of his and his wife's personal life. The appearance comes two weeks after he confirmed that he secretly wed his wife, Brittani, earlier this year. 'I know that I've chosen to be in the public eye for one more season, but my private life is staying private,' he said, referring to the one-year contract he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on June 7. He called the 'entitlement to information' about his private life is 'ridiculous and embarrassing.' Rodgers went on to describe today's society as 'sick' and questioned when it became a 'norm' to release an athlete's personal information to the public. 'What happened to common decency about security and a personal life?' Rodgers asked. 'It's a norm to be able to have athletes' addresses?' The future Hall of Famer, who revealed that he's likely to retire from the NFL after this season, said that his privacy has been invaded on multiple occasions throughout the offseason. He slammed members of the media (and fans) for calling the paparazzi on him, stalking him on the beach, leaking the address of his newly-purchased Pittsburgh property and asking about his 'private' wife. 'I didn't want any of that, didn't like any of that,' he said of the lack of privacy. 'And now I'm with somebody who's private.' The invasion of privacy has him certain that this will be his final year in the spotlight. 'I told you, when this is all done, I'm out. You won't see me,' he said of the upcoming NFL season, which kicks off on Sept. 7 when the Steelers play Rodgers' former team, the New York Jets. Rodgers says his new wife 'didn't sign up to be a celebrity' Rodgers confirmed that he's a married man in a press conference with reporters following his first practice as a Steeler. 'Yeah, it's a wedding ring,' the quarterback replied after being asked about a ring on that finger — further clarifying that the two got married 'a couple of months' ago. During his June 24 interview, Rodgers clarified that his vie for privacy was as much for his wife as it was for him. He described Brittani as a 'private person' who 'doesn't have social media' and 'didn't sign up to be a celebrity' and has no interest in being in the public eye. For that reason, Rodgers said the public will only see her when she wants to be seen. 'If and when she wants to be out, and there's a picture, she'll choose that and she deserves the right to that,' he explained. Rodgers then referenced his past relationships, including Danica Patrick and Shailene Woodley, and asked, 'How did that work out?' — referring to the end of those two relationships. The monologue came more than five months after Rodgers first revealed that he was seeing someone. During a Dec. 23 appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' Rodgers was discussing how his Christmas shopping tactics have evolved from mall shopping to online shopping. 'There was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn't showed up yet,' he said of some gifts he ordered at the time — which caught host Pat McAfee off guard as it was his first mention of Brittani. Rodgers went on to clarify that Brittani doesn't watch the show and doesn't have social media. The crew joked that Rodgers was 'in love,' to which the quarterback replied, 'It's a good feeling, boys.'

Injury-depleted Diamondbacks place Ildemaro Vargas on IL, give James McCann first start this season

CHICAGO (AP) — The injury-depleted Arizona Diamondbacks recalled infielder Blaze Alexander from Triple-A Reno and placed infielder Ildemaro Vargas on the 10-day injured list with a right foot fracture before Wednesday's series final against the Chicago White Sox. Vargas suffered a broken fifth metatarsal when he was hit by a pitch from Mike Vasil in the second inning of Arizona's 4-1 win Tuesday night. He is batting .286 with one home run and four RBIs in 10 games. Catcher James McCann was playing in his first major league game of the season Wednesday, starting behind the plate. The 35-year-old signed with Arizona on Monday following his release from the Atlanta Braves. McCann signed a minor league deal with the Braves on April 8 and was released Sunday. Over 41 games with Triple-A Gwinnett, he hit .297 with six homers and 30 RBIs. McCann, who is in his 12th season in the majors, was selected to the 2019 All-Star Game. That season with the White Sox, he set career highs in hits (120), homers (18) and RBIs (60). He has a .241 career batting average with 92 homers and 373 RBIs in 917 games with the Tigers, White Sox, Mets and Orioles. 'I'm glad he's here,' manager Torey Lovullo said. 'I've admired him from across the field through a couple of his organizations.' The Diamondbacks remain without center fielder Corbin Carroll. The 2023 NL Rookie of the Year went on the injured list retroactive to Saturday with a chip fracture in his left wrist, and a timeline for his return is unknown. Carroll hasn't played since a pitch hit him in the left hand last Wednesday in Toronto. Infielder Eugenio Suarez was still out the lineup Wednesday after being hit on the hand by a pitch from Shane Smith on Monday. First baseman Josh Naylor returned after injuring his shoulder on a swing Monday and sitting out Tuesday. ___
