Sharad Pawar
, his trusted aide and a prominent Marathwada politician, Babajani Durrani, on Thursday joined the
Congress
in the presence of MPCC president Harshawardhan Sapkal and former minister Amit Deshmukh.
Durrani has a substantial presence in local self-govt bodies. In certain municipal councils in Marathwada, Durrani has succeeded in halting the entry of the BJP and most political parties.

"Under the BJP rule, members of the minority communities are not safe.
Even the members of the OBC and Muslim communities are not safe. In my opinion, Congress alone can ensure their safety," Durrani said.
Deshmukh said it was a new beginning for the Congress in Marathwadaregion, since he is the first NCP (SP) politician to join the Congress. "So far we were hearing of Congress leaders joining the BJP or Shiv Sena. Now the trend has reversed. Now prominent opposition leaders are joining the Congress," he said.

Serious questions which must be addressed, EC must act: Tharoor on Rahul's poll rigging claims

Citing Rahul Gandhi's poll rigging claims, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Friday said these are 'serious questions' which must be seriously addressed in the interest of all voters and urged the Election Commission to act urgently. In a post on X, the Thiruvananthapuram MP said India's democracy is too precious to allow its credibility to be destroyed by incompetence, carelessness or worse, deliberate tampering. Tagging a post by the Congress on Gandhi's press conference, in which the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha alleged a 'huge criminal fraud' in polls, Tharoor said these are 'serious questions' which must be seriously addressed in the interest of all parties and all voters. 'Our democracy is too precious to allow its credibility to be destroyed by incompetence, carelessness or worse, deliberate tampering. @ECISVEEP must urgently act & @SpokespersonECI should keep the nation informed,' Tharoor said in his post. Tharoor's remarks demanding action over Gandhi's claims assume significance as of late, he has been at odds with the party's stance on certain issues, including Operation Sindoor. The differences first emerged after the government picked Tharoor to lead a diplomatic delegation to the US and other countries to convey India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam attack. At a press conference on Thursday, Gandhi made explosive claims of a 'huge criminal fraud' in polls through collusion between the BJP and the Election Commission. He cited an analysis in a constituency in Karnataka and said it was 'a crime against the Constitution'. Claiming the 'vote chori model' was being used in many constituencies across the country, Gandhi also said that the judiciary needs to get involved in this because 'the democracy that we love so much, does not exist anymore'. Gandhi said what his party collected through research was 'criminal evidence' and alleged that the Election Commission was busy destroying such proof across the country.

Netanyahu Cornered As Former Israeli Spy Chief Slams Gaza War: "Fighting A War It Cannot Win"

Rahul Gandhi Releases New Video, Claims More 'Proof' On EC, BJP Collusion in Voter List Fraud Rahul Gandhi has released a new video detailing his serious allegations against the Election Commission (EC) and the BJP. He claims that the two are colluding to manipulate voter rolls and 'steal votes' in favor of the ruling party. In his video, Gandhi highlights examples from several states, including Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, accusing the EC of creating fake voters and manipulating the voter lists. He also pointed to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar, which he says is designed to help the BJP secure votes in the state's upcoming elections. Gandhi's charges go beyond mere irregularities, calling them "institutional theft" and a betrayal of India's democracy. He challenged the Election Commission to investigate his claims, asserting that he is ready to provide the evidence. In his boldest statement, Gandhi declared that "vote chori is not just an electoral scam, but a betrayal of our Constitution." His defiant stance is shaking the political establishment as he vows to bring accountability and transparency to India's election process.#rahulgandhi #electioncommission #votechori #voterfraud #bjp #congress #indiapolitics #electionmanipulation #biharvotes #bharatjodoyatra #indianpolitics #fakevotes #voterrolls #institutionaltheft #bjpcongress #maharashtraelections #chhattisgarhelections #uttarakhandelections #specialrevision #electionscam #breakingnews #trending #trendingnow #toi #bharat #toibharat #indianews 28.1K views | 3 hours ago

Did Trump broker India-Pakistan ceasefire during Op Sindoor? Rubio makes BIG claim, says US was directly..., Trump able to...

(File) Operation Sindoor: US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for brokering the India-Pakistan ceasefire that ended the 100-hour war between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in May this year. Trump has repeated the claim over two dozen times since May 10, and now, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reiterated the same, claiming that the United States 'got involved directly' when India and Pakistan 'went to war', and the US President was able to establish peace between the two bitter rivals. What did Rubio say? In an interview to EWTN's 'The World Over' on Thursday, Marco Rubio said that Trump is committed to peace and being the 'president of peace'. And so, we saw when India and Pakistan went to war, we got involved directly, and the president was able to deliver on that peace.' Rubio claimed that apart from ending the recent India-Pakistan war, Donald Trump also played a key role in resolving conflicts in other parts of the world, such as between Cambodia and Thailand, Armenia and Azerbaijan. 'Cambodia and Thailand more recently; Azerbaijan and Armenia, hopefully…DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo)-Rwanda – a 30-year war, 7 million people killed – we were able to bring them here to sign it,' Rubio said, adding that the US was proud of those initiatives and 'we're looking for more – obviously, the big one being in Ukraine and Russia'. 'We dedicate a significant amount of time to stopping and ending wars,' he said. How India responded? Rubio's statement comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently told the Parliament that no world leader forced India to stop the hostilities during Operations Sindoor against Pakistan. India has consistently maintained that understanding on cessation of hostilities with Pakistan was reached following direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two militaries. Recently, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who recently led an all-party delegation to the US, said he raised Trump's mediation claims directly with US Vice President JD Vance during his talks. 'The meeting with Vice President Vance was very good and very clear. I think we made our position clear on this question of mediation and Vice President Vance understood our point of view completely,' Tharoor said. Donald Trump, since May 10, has repeatedly claimed credit for mediating India-Pakistan ceasefire, asserting he used trade as a weapon to force New Delhi and Islamabad to 'immediately stop the fighting'.
