Neuralink Recipient Writes Her Name Using Her Thoughts, Elon Musk Says 'Most People Don't Know'
A woman has amazed people worldwide by revealing that, for the first time in 20 years, she was able to write her name—using only her thoughts. This remarkable breakthrough was made possible by Elon Musk's company, Neuralink.
Audrey Crews, who has a Neuralink implant, posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter) showing her signature on a computer screen. She wrote, 'I tried writing my name for the first time in 20 years. I'm working on it. Lol #Neuralink."
The post quickly went viral, capturing the attention of social media users worldwide. Even Elon Musk responded, confirming the achievement and explaining, 'She is controlling her computer just by thinking. Most people don't know this can happen."
'This made me cry," said one.
'This technology will change humanity forever," wrote another.
Neuralink is also working on a new brain chip called Blindsight. This chip could help blind people see again, and even give them better-than-normal vision.
So far, the chip has been tested only in monkeys, but the company hopes to start selling it by 2030. They also plan to earn over a billion dollars a year from different brain implants by 2031.
Neuralink's main goal is to create devices that connect directly to the brain. They want to help paralyzed people move, help blind people see, and change how people use technology by linking their minds to computers.

OpenAI rolls out study mode in ChatGPT
Agency: PTI New Delhi, Jul 29 (PTI) OpenAI on Tuesday introduced 'study mode" in ChatGPT, a new feature aimed at helping students work through questions step by step instead of providing direct answers. The feature has been rolled out to logged-in users across Free, Plus, Pro, and Team plans, with ChatGPT Edu availability planned soon. The study mode offers personalised feedback to track progress and supports knowledge retention. 'When students engage with study mode, they're met with guiding questions that calibrate responses to their objective and skill level to help them build deeper understanding. Study mode is designed to be engaging and interactive, and to help students learn something — not just finish something," OpenAI said in a statement. 'But its use in education has also raised an important question: how do we ensure it is used to support real learning, and doesn't just offer solutions without helping students make sense of them? We've built study mode to help answer this question," it said. PTI ANK MBI TRB view comments First Published: July 29, 2025, 22:45 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. ‘Deepened India-UK Ties': PM Modi Mourns Economist Meghnad Desai's Demise
Last Updated: Eminent economist Meghnad Desai passed away at 84. PM Modi expressed condolences, noting Desai's role in strengthening India-UK ties. Desai was a renowned author and academic. Eminent economist Meghnad Desai passed away at the age of 84 on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over Desai's death and said he played a role in deepening India-UK ties. 'Anguished by the passing away of Shri Meghnad Desai Ji, a distinguished thinker, writer and economist. He always remained connected to India and Indian culture. He also played a role in deepening India-UK ties. Will fondly recall our discussions, where he shared his valuable insights. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti," PM Modi wrote in a post on X. Who Was Meghnad Desai? Meghnad Desai was a renowned economist, author, and British parliamentarian whose intellectual influence spanned continents. Born in Gujarat in 1940, Desai built a formidable academic career at the London School of Economics, where he taught for nearly four decades and made significant contributions to development economics, Marxian theory, and global governance. A prolific writer, he authored over 200 academic papers and several influential books, including Marx's Revenge and The Rediscovery of India. His sharp intellect and contrarian thinking made him a respected—often provocative—voice in both scholarly and policy circles. Desai was appointed a life peer in the UK's House of Lords in 1991 and remained deeply engaged in public life, using his platform to foster stronger India–UK ties. Despite spending much of his career abroad, he retained a strong connection to India through his writing, commentary, and the establishment of the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics in Mumbai. Awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2008, Desai remained a steadfast believer in open debate, cultural dialogue, and academic freedom. Until his passing in 2025, he continued to challenge orthodoxies and inspire new generations of economists and thinkers. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
