Justin Bieber sparks concern as he tells teen star 'I love you'

Daily Mirror6 days ago

Pop singer Justin Bieber is facing backlash after leaving a comment on 17-year-old actress Ariana Greenblatt's Instagram post that many online deemed inappropriate
Justin Bieber has landed in hot water once again - this time for a social media comment many fans are calling inappropriate. The 31-year-old pop star, no stranger to controversy, has previously drawn criticism for defending Chris Brown following his release from prison, and for publicly downplaying his wife Hailey Bieber's achievements - once stating she would 'never be on the cover of Vogue.'
Now, his latest online behavior is under scrutiny after he left a remark on 17-year-old actress Ariana Greenblatt's Instagram post. Greenblatt, known for her role in Barbie, recently shared a series of glamorous behind-the-scenes photos from the Fear Street: Prom Queen premiere.

Dressed in a shimmering black sequin mini dress, the young star captioned the post: 'Fear Street: Prom Queen is out now on netflix!!! horror had always been one of my favorite genres and to have this movie be my introduction into the world was an honor."

Fans flooded the comment section with praise - until one particular comment stood out. 'I love youuuuuuuuu,' Bieber wrote beneath the post, a message Greenblatt went on to 'like'.
While the two are believed to have some level of familiarity - Bieber reportedly followed her on Instagram back in November 2023, coinciding with her modelling appearance for Rhode, Hailey Bieber's skincare line - many online felt the singer had overstepped a boundary.
The response was swift and unforgiving, especially on Reddit where users expressed concern over the age gap between the two. One top comment read: 'She's underaged and he's a grown man.' The same commenter went on to note that Greenblatt 'looks so similar to Selena Gomez so him just commenting to her like that makes it even weirder.'
Another user bluntly wrote: 'In no circumstance is it appropriate to comment this on a 17 year old girl's profile when you're a 31 year old man.'

Others echoed the sentiment, calling the comment 'disturbing' and 'creepy.' One particularly harsh criticism stated: 'He is 31 and this little girl is 17, that is so inappropriate. He could have left a sweet, appropriate message supporting her but of course he had to cross a line.'
Beyond the issue of age, some fans felt Bieber's actions were disrespectful toward his wife, Hailey. One user observed: 'Justin seem more supportive of a 17-year-old girl and Chris Brown than his own wife after her Vogue cover. He seems to enjoy embarrassing her at every opportunity.'
The backlash follows a string of public missteps for Bieber, including his now-deleted Instagram post where he admitted to telling Hailey she'd never land a Vogue cover - comments he later walked back, writing: 'So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken."

Despite mounting criticism, Bieber has remained silent about the Greenblatt incident. He's continued to make public appearances in good spirits, most recently spotted in West Hollywood amid ongoing debate about his online behavior.
For now, the pop star has not addressed the backlash - leaving fans, critics, and followers to continue dissecting his increasingly controversial digital footprint.

Having already had her make up done by Lisa Little, Gemma wowed in a grey bra as she showed her followers the final result It comes after the star claimed she's 'saving the NHS ' by taking Mounjaro after losing a 'life-changing' two stone. Gemma said she'll no longer need to go to the NHS with an 'obesity related illness' thanks to the help of the medication. She revealed in January that she'd been taking the NHS approved Mounjaro injections and has left fans stunned with her incredible transformation. She told The Mirror: 'I've lost so much weight, you wouldn't believe it. It's the only thing I've managed to lose weight on without putting myself on a stressful diet. 'I think I'm actually saving the NHS. I won't be going to the NHS with an obesity related illness so I won't be putting any strain on it. I'm loving life, honey.' Earlier this month Gemma posed up a storm in a white bandeau swimsuit as she posed with a hand on her hip for the stunning snap. She soaked up the sunshine and joked that she was on 'do not disturb' and 'unavailable' as she enjoyed her holiday. Gemma posed against a gorgeous holiday backdrop of the sea and palm trees at what looks like a beach club. However, it comes just after Gemma was left horrified after discovering one unlikely side effect of the weight loss jabs. Gemma has been left concerned that her weight loss has left her 'looking older' as she shared a candid Instagram post this week pointing out her 'next level' crow's feet. She said: 'I really don't know what's happened to me, I really don't, It's just come on me overnight. But it has been a year since I've had any little tweakments.' 'I don't know if it's since I've been losing weight. I sure haven't got "Ozempic face" yet, but it would be the dream right now,' 'I've always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn't right. What has happened? I am 44 but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it'd get to.' 'Ozempic face' is a used to describe noticeable facial changes, such as sagging skin and a gaunt appearance, that can occur after rapid weight loss, often associated with the use of medications like Ozempic. Meanwhile a source told The Mirror that while Gemma was poking fun at the situation she was in reality very concerned. 'She's eating really healthily and has broken some of the bad habits with food, It was a bit of a shock to her to really see the effect the weight loss has had on her face'. 'She doesn't want to suddenly look older than she is, which is why she's sorting it and being honest about it. Gemma's always been really open and honest about her relationship with her body and she's been through some really horrible times with it, but that's all in her past now.' Before adding: 'The wrinkle tweakments are all part of her wanting to feel and look good. She knows there's no point losing all the weight and just being unhappy, so she'll happily make little changes to keep herself feeling her best'.

Alongside the selection of graphic snaps showcasing her injuries, the TV actress revealed all. "I fainted at the beach. And fell face first into a boulder," she explained. She continued: "At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock. "I smiled wryly at them. 'You won't find anything.' I said with a woozy voice..." she added. She then wrote more about the ordeal in a Substack post where she detailed "absent" and "fainting spells" since she was little. Evangeline even revealed how she was checked for epilepsy before the doctors settling for a diagnosis of hypoglycemia without doing any tests. And Just Like That fans fume over huge character change as they slam show bosses for 'trying too hard' The actress then said that the cause of her blackouts remain a mystery. She went on: "I have come to believe that this 'checking out' is a result of my little soul reaching her limit of what she feels she can cope with in this life, and she 'leaves the building,' so to speak." Evangeline later penned: "That when she has had enough, when the pain becomes too great, the stresses beyond overwhelming, the shattered idealism crushing, my soul exits my body and returns to pure spirit." Fans flocked to the Instagram post, which promoted her full Substack post, to share their well wishes with Evangeline. "Oh my goodness Evangeline! I am sending you all of the healing energy in the world. Take it easy! We're all here for you," penned one. Another added: "Thank you so much for talking about this. Thinking of you." And a third wrote: "Hope you're feeling better and heal up quickly inside and out." Underneath the post, Lilly penned: "Thank you all for your beautiful well wishes." Evangeline's hospital dash and health update comes after she announced she was retiring from acting. Last year, after 20 years on screen, Evangeline said: "I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. "Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings. Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment." She then added: "I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. "A new season has arrived, and I AM I AM HAPPY." 5 Evangeline shot to fame on Lost Credit: Alamy

Gerard Butler honours late 'beloved mother' in emotional film premiere tribute

Gerard Butler shared an emotional tribute to his late mother, Margaret, during the Brazilian premiere of his latest Hollywood blockbuster. Hollywood film star Gerard Butler has paid tribute to his late mum who passed away earlier this year. The Scots actor attended the Brazilian premiere of the How to Train Your Dragon live-action remake earlier this week. The 55-year-old is reprising his role as Stoick, the Viking leader in the upcoming movie. At the end of the screening, Butler's mother, Margaret Coll - who died at the age of 81, earlier this year - was honoured in a touching moment of remembrance. ‌ The actor shared pictures from the film premiere on social media, including a snap which read: "Dedicated to the loving memory of Margaret Coll." ‌ He captioned the post, on Instagram: "Getting weird. Funny face. The boys. And in memory of my dearly beloved mother Margaret Coll." Fans were quick to take to the comments on Butler's Instagram post, sending their condolences to the star following the sad news. One comment said: "She'll always be by your side, supporting you and loving you more than anyone else. And yes, she was definitely there with you, smiling, and making those funny faces." ‌ As another wrote: "Awe. So extremely sorry for the loss of your mama, Gerard. I remember seeing you mention a few months back that she was in the hospital." "Prayers of peace, strength, and comfort for you and your family. I know how truly much you adored your mama." ‌ A third put: "Your mother is watching you from above and is very, very proud of you," as a forth added: "Beautiful memories, God bless you." Butler frequently left his home in Hollywood and visited his mum, in the village of Comrie in Perthshire - where she lived for more than 20 years. He previously told the Record about his visits back to Scotland to visit his mum. He said: "I sit in the garden, I look up at the mountain ranges and I am just taken aback constantly by how beautiful it is there, and what a great land I come from." ‌ 'I just really connect when I get back, and I find that I recharge and knock out all the bull that's going round in my head, all of that Hollywood nonsense." 'I quickly get that slapped out of me," he joked. 'When mum's like, 'can you go in and wash the dishes?' I'm always saying, 'Mum, look, I'm a Hollywood star, I don't do that!' And she's like, 'Whatever, get in and wash the dishes'," he recalled. Butler's mother Margaret died peacefully surrounded by her family in February this year, her funeral notice described her as the "beloved wife of Alex" and a "dearly loved and sadly missed mother, grandmother, sister and friend." Her funeral was held in Perth and donations were accepted for the charity Mary's Meals, which was held closely in her heart, as well as Butler working with the charity for many years.
