Netflix fans stunned as controversial film about a dog ‘goes too far'
Fixed tells the tale of Bull (Adam DeVine), a hump-happy Staffordshire bull terrier, who discovers he's to be neutered in the morning, leading him to embark upon one last adventure with his canine pals while he's still, um, complete.
From the mind of influential animator Genndy Tartakovsky, who created Dexter's Laboratory and Primal, Fixed has a star-studded voice cast that also boasts the likes of Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen and former Saturday Night Live stars Beck Bennett and Bobby Moynihan.
In development since 2018, Warner Bros was set to release the outrageous animation in cinemas before it cancelled it as part of cost-saving measures, leaving Netflix to step in and save the movie.
But some seem to wish the streaming platform hadn't bothered, with critics complaining Fixed is 'a dog's dinner' and 'painfully unfunny' – while others are delighting in how 'off the chain' it is.

In the trailer alone, Bull is seen getting busy with his nana's leg, with a graphic animated shot from behind revealing his anus and testicles as he pumps.
*Warning – graphic content in the trailer below*
Later there's a pack of rats biting his balls in a frenzied attack, a female dog performing a pole routine and rubbing herself suggestively on a leather boot, moaning, while there are also plenty of f-bombs.
In the film itself, there's a scene where it's suggested Bull have sex with a cooked turkey, before one of his pals jokes: 'I think a Cornish hen is more your size anyway – it's tighter where it counts.'
There's also a shocking scene doing the rounds on social media which shows Bull sacrificing himself to the Borzoi show dog Sterling and his amorous attentions to save his true love, Honey, which answers the question of how a cartoon dog would look and sound when orgasming.
As director Tartakovsky admitted in an interview with CGMagazine: 'So this [Fixed] was me trying to push as far as I can push.'
'I've just watched Fixed on @netflix, and I think this is the most bizarre animated film I've seen so far. Also the best film as well. The animation and the voice acting are fantastic in my opinion. 10 out of 10,' enthused @Zackzilland
@JuanpaDraws agreed, adding: 'Take note Sausage Party, now THIS is how you do an adult comedy. It made me laugh so many times watching this, Genndy Tartakovsky never disappoints.'
But others were appalled with Roni tweeting: 'I don't know what movie is worse… Sausage Party or Fixed on Netflix. Really sick movies.'
'How Netflix had the best animated film in KPop Demon Hunters to having [sic] one of the worst animated films in Fixed this year lol,' shared @thebritwhocares.
'Why did Genndy do this? This is a bit of a smudge on an otherwise amazing legacy. The 'raunchy dog' niche genre is not something we've ever needed,' complained @StrayTato.
@bl4ckz0ne wrote: 'I still wanna know HOW were the voice actors talked into doing this.'
Fixed currently has a 64% rating from critics on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes as audience reactions continue to trickle in following its release on Thursday.
'A wildly uneven, totally obvious, and often painfully unfunny 80 minutes. It's enough to drive you nuts,' penned David Fear for Rolling Stone in a review titled: 'Fixed is an animated movie aimed at dog lovers and Pornhub addicts'.
Critic Nate Adams chimed in: 'Fixed could have been a clever, heartfelt spin on an absurd premise. Instead, it's a shaggy-dog story that mistakes relentless crudeness for comedy and chases its own tail until it collapses.'
Meanwhile, critic Rachel Wagner simply observed: 'I love Genndy but this is one of the worst animated films I've ever seen.'
Even positive reviews acknowledged that the movie would not appeal to many. More Trending
'While the final version of Fixed feels fully unleashed, the uber-raunchy and ultra-horny ride may not appeal to everyone's comedic tastes,' Collider's review read, while critic Alan French wrote: 'What Tartakovsky delivers with the shackles off is enough of a reason to support this absurdly vulgar animated film.'
'Netflix has saved a movie that needs to be seen to be believed,' he added.
Fixed is streaming exclusively on Netflix now.

Narinder Kaur criticises BBC's decision to cast Thomas Skinner on Strictly
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Narinder Kaur has questioned the BBC casting Thomas Skinner on Strictly Come Dancing. This week the line-up for the upcoming season of the long-running series was released, with some of the celebrities taking part including Vicky Pattison, Dani Dyer and Alex Kingston. Yesterday it was also announced that former The Apprentice star Thomas, 34, had signed up. 'I'm beyond excited to be joining Strictly Come Dancing. I've tackled the boardroom and some big breakfasts in my time but stepping onto the dance floor under that glitter ball is next level stuff!' he said. 'I've never danced in my life (other than at weddings) but I'm ready to graft and of course have a laugh. Bring on the sequins, sambas and most importantly, the BOSH to the ballroom!' Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. However, his casting has caused some backlash, including from TV star Narinder, who also claimed she was told that she was 'too controversial' for the show herself. Narinder, I respect that you stand up for what you believe in, not everyone's got the guts to do that. Yes, I've got a past, but I'm not here to divide people. I'm just trying to get people to believe in themselves and realise they can do more than they think. Life can be so much… — Thomas Skinner ⚒ (@iamtomskinner) August 14, 2025 In the caption of a video posted to X, the Jeremy Vine panellist and former Big Brother star, 52, said: 'Apparently I was deemed too controversial for @bbcstrictly because they only hire quiet brown and black women that fit in a box. 'But you can be a white man AND be controversial and you'll be hired on the spot! Hello Thomas Skinner!!' In a statement, she added: 'There's only so much you can say in a short video, but I felt something many others have been feeling all day and that was complete shock and utter bewilderment – to see Thomas be announced in the line-up, considering all the rhetoric about how people with right-wing opinions are cancelled and not allowed on the BBC. 'I've debated Tom on Good Morning Britain before, I supported his book release at his launch party, there is a huge disparity in what certain demographics of people are allowed to say and still get one show after another. 'I met the Strictly team at the TV Choice Awards earlier this year and got talking to one of the bookers about the show generally – and she said, 'You're a bit too controversial and we can't have that for the show',' she added. Soon after Skinner replied directly to her post. 'Narinder, I respect that you stand up for what you believe in, not everyone's got the guts to do that. Yes, I've got a past, but I'm not here to divide people. I'm just trying to get people to believe in themselves and realise they can do more than they think. 'Life can be so much better when you let happiness in and don't always be angry towards others. If I've ever upset you, I'm sorry… that's never been my intention. I wish ya nothing but peace, happiness, and a life you can truly enjoy. Bosh.' He also addressed the backlash from the public, writing: 'They say don't read the comments on social media. But I couldn't help myself. I've had absolute pellets all day on my Instagram about going on Strictly. Why are some people so angry that don't even know me.' In recent weeks Skinner claimed he'd faced 'death threats' and 'vile comments' about his children after sharing a series of posts on social media in which he said, 'something's gone wrong' in the UK, and that 'there is nothing wrong with being proud of where you're from'. He also sparked criticism for writing that it 'was not far-right' to be 'flying your flag and loving your country'. The TV star and businessman said that London was 'hostile', 'tense' and 'not safe out there anymore'. More Trending Earlier this week he also met US vice president JD Vance, who is currently holidaying in the Cotswolds. During the 2024 United States presidential election, Skinner expressed support for Republican candidate Donald Trump. I love Trump I think he is brilliant, that's my opinion. I think it's good he is back in charge, it will be good for the UK economy,' he said. Since appearing on The Apprentice in 2019, Skinner has also appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Wheel, Michael McIntyre's Big Show, Good Morning Britain, Faking It, and Celebrity MasterChef. Devastating new scenes confirmed for Debbie in Corrie as an ambulance is called
There's concern for Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) in Coronation Street as she dramatically collapses at number 13 and is rushed to hospital. Debbie was diagnosed with dementia after going to the doctor with symptoms she assumed to be due to the menopause. She'd been becoming increasingly forgetful, mislaying things and missing meetings. Added to this were mood swings and then, most alarmingly, blackouts. The doctor told Debbie that the blackouts were probably due to mini-strokes and warned her that this could happen again, and said that her symptoms were due to dementia. At first Debbie kept her diagnosis a secret. Her brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had his own health struggles as he was dealing with cancer and Debbie didn't want to give him more to worry about. She also pushed away long-term partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), feeling she didn't want to be a burden on him. Eventually she opened up about her health to her close friends and family. Insisting she wanted to carry on as normally as possible, she also reconciled with Ronnie and recently proposed to him at Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove)'s wedding. Things take a turn for the worse in upcoming episodes, however, when Debbie lets herself into Kevin's house to do a spot of cleaning while she thinks Kevin and the family are away on holiday. What she doesn't realise is that Abi (Sally Carman) has faked losing her passport so she can stay behind and spend time with her new lover – Kevin and Debbie's brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard). As Debbie lets herself into the house she's unaware that Carl is upstairs, while Abi has popped out to buy some lager. More Trending It's just as well Carl is there, as it turns out, because Debbie is suddenly overcome by dizziness and collapses. Carl hears the commotion and goes down to investigate, and finds his sister in a bad way. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Kim and Khloe Kardashian play detective as they seek to solve mysterious cruise ship disappearance of Amy Bradley
Kim and Khloe Kardashian are reportedly trying to help solve the viral Amy Bradley missing persons case. Amy was just 23 when she mysteriously vanished in the early morning hours of March 21, 1998 while aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with her family. The nearly 30-year-old case has garnered renewed interest following the release of the investigative three-part Netflix documentary, Amy Bradley Is Missing. Kim called the documentary 'mind blowing' in an Instagram Story post shared last month with her 355million followers. 'We must find Amy! This is so crazy @netflix,' the SKIMS founder, 44, wrote. The post caught the attention of Amy's distraught brother, Brad, who recently told TMZ that he tried contacting Kim via DM asking her to 'help [raise] awareness.' And now, the outlet is reporting that Kim and her younger sister Khloe, 40, have gotten in contact with the Bradley family directly — specifically, Amy's mother, Iva — in the hopes of aiding them in their ongoing search. Daily Mail has reached out to Kim and Khloe's representatives for comment. Sources claimed that Kim and Khloe personally contacted Iva via phone last Thursday to discuss the details of Amy's case and where the investigation currently stands. According to TMZ's insiders, Kim and Khloe were most intrigued by one suspicious detail in the documentary relating to a Barbados-based IP address, which has reportedly frequented the Amy Bradley Is Missing website. They reportedly spoke to to the Bradley family matriarch for 'about an hour.' The phone call was not filmed for the Kardashians' Hulu reality TV show as the sisters were solely focused on 'listening and brainstorming' with Iva about how they could help. The Bradley family are hopeful that Amy may still be still alive despite her being missing for nearly three decades. Kim involvement could prove beneficial as she's no stranger to the justice system, with the star having successfully advocated for clemency for several inmates along with studying law for the last seven years. The billionaire mogul completed her law program earlier this year, which puts her one step closer to becoming a lawyer like her late father Robert Kardashian. Kim and Khloe's alleged contact with the Bradley family comes shortly after Amy's brother spoke out about her mysterious disappearance 27 years ago. Amy, a recent college graduate, had set off on a seven-day trip with her parents and younger brother Brad from the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan on Saturday, March 21, 1998. Two days later, as they set sail for the island of Curacao, Amy and Brad partied at the ship's nightclub, after which she was seen resting on her balcony. But when her father checked on her early the next morning, she had gone, leaving no trace apart from a polo shirt and some sandals - and she has not been seen since. The case has made headlines once more as it's re-investigated Netflix's new Amy Bradley Is Missing documentary. It arrived on the streaming platform on July 16 and has since opened the floodgates for new theories and speculation over what happened. Amy's brother Brad shared what he believes happened to his sister while speaking on British TV to 'This Morning' hosts Emma Willis and Joel Dommett. The Bradleys have always been adamant that Amy neither fell nor jumped from their balcony, because she was scared of how high it was. Joining the ITV show on via link with his mother, Brad said from Virginia: 'Well obviously we don't know where she is. 'Since the show came out we've gotten thousands of tips, leads and people sending prayers, love and different ideas. 'We think what happened to Amy was that she was targeted.' 'She was seen, taken and removed from the ship and we believe she was trafficked into some kind of sex trade situation,' Brad continued. 'Obviously we need that one person who knows something to come forward and help us. 'Actually, I think there's more than one person who knows but we're waiting on that one call that breaks this thing open.' Before the release of Amy Bradley Is Missing, the family hoped the program would spark more tips, jog some memories and lead to real answers. However, her family have faced cruel trolling and backlash from Netflix viewers. Brad previously told Daily Mail that the documentary has been particularly difficult for his mother. 'Back then, there was no cell phones, there was not a whole lot of internet going on, there was no social media,' he said. 'There was none of that.' 'The upcoming series has been really tough on Mom, mostly, emotionally,' he added. 'And Dad obviously doesn't like that part of it for all of us.'
