Police look for woman who allegedly cashed stolen check in Mansfield
The Pennslyvania State Police reported that an older female driving a gray Ford Edge cashed a check for $2,000 at the First Heritage on South Main Street at around 1:35 p.m. on Jan. 15. Police say the check was stolen from a 71-year-old Horseheads woman in Corning, and the investigation into the alleged fraud began on Feb. 6.

Head-on collision in Stephenson County kills two, including former WNBA star's mother
The Stephenson County Sheriff's Department is investigating an Aug. 9 head-on collision in rural Stephenson County that claimed the lives of two people, including a longtime Freeport resident who was the mother of a former WNBA star. The crash took place at 12:38 p.m. on Illinois Route 26 near Oneco Road in rural Orangeville. According to a news release from the sheriff's department, a preliminary investigation indicates that a Nissan Altima, driven by Rolando Ico-Choc, 30, was traveling south on Illinois 26 when it entered the northbound lane and collided head on with a Ford Edge, driven by Darcy Connolly-Brunner, 61. The release states that Ico-Choc was a Guatemalan national who had been living in Freeport, and Connolly-Brunner was a resident of Freeport. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene, the release states. Sheriff's deputies are investigating whether alcohol impairment by Ico-Choc was a factor in the crash. There is no indication that Connolly-Brunner was impaired, the release states. Toxicology tests are being conducted. The crash is under investigation by the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit. Several agencies responded to the crash including the Orangeville Fire Department, Winslow FireDepartment, Cedarville Fire Protection District, Leamon's Ambulance Service and the Stephenson County Coroner'sOffice. Woodhaven man, 70, killed in Central Michigan crash; 1 injured
A 70-year-old man is dead after the SUV he was driving was struck by a pickup truck in Central Michigan on Saturday morning, according to police. Investigators say a 50-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on East Pickard Road in Union Township. The 70-year-old man, driving a Ford Edge, was turning onto the road from a hotel parking lot when the truck hit the SUV. Michigan State Police troopers responded to the crash around 10 a.m. Officials said the 70-year-old Woodhaven, Michigan, man died from injuries sustained in the incident. The driver of the Silverado, a Rosebush, Michigan, resident, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Union Township is around 159 miles northwest of Detroit.
