Aizle, in Edinburgh (Image: NQ) Announcing the decision on social media, he said: 'After an incredible decade, I have made the decision to close the doors to my first restaurant, Aizle.
'Firstly, thank you to our amazing team that have moulded Aizle to what it is, to all the producers, and to our guests, we have loved having you. I look forward to continuing our path, together. 'When I first opened Aizle on St Leonard's Street, I wanted to do something that would challenge me as a young chef, provide a place that people would choose to work in and serve food that would make people happy.'

The Fife-born cook paid tribute to all those who had helped build the restaurant and said that a new project is in the pipeline, adding: 'Over the past 11 years, we've moved homes, met brilliant people along the way, served some great food and together, built a restaurant to be proud of and had some incredible staff throughout the years. Anyone who was a part of Aizle , thank you.
'A decision that didn't come easily to me, but the time has come to focus even greater on Lyla, Noto and Tipo, as well as our new project.'

The former first minister has spoken of her dream of writing a work of fiction just days before her memoir is published. Nicola Sturgeon has revealed her ambition to write a novel when she retires from frontline politics next year - and joked it could feature a "murder on every page". The former first minister revealed the plans for her next publishing venture just days before her memoir, Frankly, is published. Sturgeon, who is standing down as an MSP in 2026, was speaking today as a guest at the Women of the World (WOW) show at the Edinburgh Fringe. The ex-SNP leader has become something of a regular on stage in recent months as she steps up the promotional campaign for her political memoir. "I still have lots of ambition to go out and do different things. My biggest ambition now is to see if I've got, and I don't know whether I do, the ability to write a novel," she said in remarks first reported by STV. The outgoing MSP admitted her future novel 'may never see the light of day' but added it would likely be some kind of political thriller. She quipped: "The problem is there are too many people I'd want to kill. There'd be a murder on every second page." Sturgeon also revealed to the audience she had recently been tattooed for the first time. "Here's an ambition I've always had that I've fulfilled recently,' she said. "I got a tattoo. When I phoned my mother to tell her, she thought I was kidding.' She described the wrist tattoo as an infinity symbol with an arrow on the end. "It's a symbol of strength. It means something to me," she added. It comes as Sturgeon is set to appear on a primetime TV interview next week to promote her memoir. The former first minister will be grilled by ITV News stalwart Julie Etchingham for a special programme that will be broadcast at 7pm on August 11. Sturgeon's book, Frankly, hits the shops on August 14. Sturgeon has declared nearly £200,000 in outside earnings since standing down from the top job in Scottish politics. Her book, Frankly, is expected to lift the lid on her nine years as Scotland's leader and the breakdown of her friendship with the late Alex Salmond. According to her Holyrood register of interest, she received £75,000 in 2023 from publishers Pan Macmillan for the first of four instalments of a book advance. Other income, including a recent £76,500 second book payment made via her literary agent and fees for book reviews, was paid to her personal company. Nicola Sturgeon Ltd also received £25,000 from broadcaster ITN after the former SNP leader appeared on a general election night results show. To coincide with publication of her book, fans of Sturgeon are being charged £75 to attend a 'meet and greet' with her later this year ahead of an interview in Edinburgh.

Scots BBC star announces shock career move after taking new role at rival show
The star took to social media to announce his news. A Scots BBC star and popular radio host has announced he is leaving his current position to go and work for a rival station. Two Doors Down and Scotland's Greatest Escape star Grado has revealed he will be joining Heart Scotland's Breakfast Show. It comes weeks after it was announced that the 37-year-old wrestling star from North Ayrshire had left his role at Scottish radio station, Go Radio. Grado, whose real name is Graeme Stevely, shared the news with fans on his Facebook page this morning and also revealed a huge guest he will be welcoming on the show's first week. Sharing a snap of himself beside Des Clarke and Adele Cunningham, he wrote: "Buzzin to let everyone know that I'll be joining the all new Heart Scotland Breakfast Show! Des Clarke, Adele and ma'sel. Catch us from this Monday at 6.30am for the biggest and best tunes, celebrity interviews and all the carry on. "Also, in the studio next week, one of our first guests - Lewis Capaldi. "Get us on FM and DAB across the central belt or on Global Player the official Heart app, via smart phone or smart speaker. Follow us on insta @heartscotland." He signed off by saying: "CANNY WAIT, TIDY." Heart Breakfast Show listeners appeared to be delighted with the news as they left messages of support on the post. The Edinburgh hidden gem garden perfect to escape the chaos of the Fringe Festival
It is just a short walk from Scotland's oldest pub. The Edinburgh Fringe is underway, which means the Scottish capital is once again positively buzzing with activity. Dr Neil's Garden is a hidden retreat located in the historic village of Duddingston in the east of Edinburgh, next to Holyrood Park. The GPs started work on the garden in 1963, and they encouraged their patients to help out with the gardening to help clear their heads in tranquil surroundings. Today, the little-known garden is a place where city dwellers can take some time out of their busy lives to reconnect with nature. Visitors will find conifers, heathers, alpines, herbaceous borders, and even a physic garden. After you're done soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of Dr Neil's Garden, you can enjoy a picturesque walk around Duddingston before heading into the historic Sheep Heid Inn for some food and drink.
