Quantum-safe Wi-Fi? Yep, Samsung's doing that too
Last but not least, Samsung is also beefing up Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography, first introduced on the Galaxy S25 series. Basically, it is trying to future-proof your phone against the day when quantum computers can crack today's top-notch encryption like it's nothing.Right now, Secure Wi-Fi, encrypts your internet traffic – but with this update, it's adding a new cryptographic framework designed to survive the quantum era. Samsung is building in protections for what's known as "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks – where bad actors grab encrypted data today with the hope of breaking it in the future once quantum tech matures. This new setup improves how your Galaxy phone and Samsung servers exchange encryption keys, which is the heart of keeping data safe on public Wi-Fi. And while quantum computers aren't breaking our passwords just yet, this update ensures your info won't suddenly become exposed if and when that day comes. That said, there's a catch – Secure Wi-Fi still only gives you 1,024 MB of free protection per month on Android 13 or newer, and just 250 MB if you're on Android 12 or below. So while the encryption is solid, the data cap isn't exactly generous.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may not support 65W wired charging after all

A few days ago, a rumor told us to expect Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra to finally up its charging capacity from the 45W its predecessors have been stuck at, to 65W. Today a new report, based on code found in One UI 8, comes to contradict that. If this is accurate information, then the S26 Ultra will only support 60W wired charging. Yeah, Ice Universe was really right. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 60W fast charging! — Erencan Yılmaz (@erenylmaz075) July 29, 2025 Sure, that's not a huge difference to 65W, and it's still a pretty significant improvement from 45W. The aforementioned previous rumor also claimed the phone would get a 5,500 mAh battery, which would be 10% bigger than the S25 Ultra's, but we have to note that other sources do claim the S26 Ultra's cell will actually stay at 5,000 mAh like its predecessor's, with the faster charging support supposedly making up for that somehow. While this all sounds rather confusing, one thing seems pretty clear: the S26 Ultra will definitely not be a champ in either battery capacity or how fast it charges. In both areas, its Chinese competitors will have it beat, and by a lot. What else is new, right?

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to ship with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and One UI 8.5

Leaked firmware files reveal that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite's successor next year and will ship with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. This appears to be in line with a recent report by Ice Universe revealing a shift in Samsung's software update strategy that gives the foldables the latest One UI iteration and polishing it for the Galaxy S series. The firmware file has been found on Samsung's server, which means the tech giant is already working on developing One UI 8.5 for its future S26 lineup. The firmware reads PMK8850 serial number, which likely refers to Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset. Given that the S25 Ultra ships with Snapdragon 8 Elite, also referred to as 8750 in its own firmware, it's probably safe to assume that the S26 Ultra will continue to use Qualcomm's chip. That doesn't mean all three Galaxy S phones will be powered by the Snapdragon, though. The S26+ and the vanilla S26 will likely feature the company's upcoming Exynos 2600 SoC, which promises solid CPU and GPU performance. Also, another recent report claims that Samsung has found a way to keep the Exynos 2600 cooler. Source 1 | Source 2

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra certification confirms its battery size and charging power

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has just been certified by SGS Fimko, and this process has confirmed its battery capacity and charging capabilities. The tablet will have an 11,600 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Compared to its predecessor from last year, that's a tiny 400 mAh increase in battery size, while the charging speed has remained the same. This certification hasn't revealed any other specs. Based on a Geekbench listing, the Tab S11 Ultra will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset (even though it will most likely launch after the Dimensity 9500 has become official), paired with 12GB of RAM. It will run Android 16 from day one, undoubtedly with Samsung's One UI 8 on top. Via
