Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to ship with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and One UI 8.5
This appears to be in line with a recent report by Ice Universe revealing a shift in Samsung's software update strategy that gives the foldables the latest One UI iteration and polishing it for the Galaxy S series.
The firmware file has been found on Samsung's server, which means the tech giant is already working on developing One UI 8.5 for its future S26 lineup.
The firmware reads PMK8850 serial number, which likely refers to Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset. Given that the S25 Ultra ships with Snapdragon 8 Elite, also referred to as 8750 in its own firmware, it's probably safe to assume that the S26 Ultra will continue to use Qualcomm's chip.
That doesn't mean all three Galaxy S phones will be powered by the Snapdragon, though. The S26+ and the vanilla S26 will likely feature the company's upcoming Exynos 2600 SoC, which promises solid CPU and GPU performance. Also, another recent report claims that Samsung has found a way to keep the Exynos 2600 cooler.

Qualcomm has a new high-end chipset on the way
Qualcomm is holding its next launch event in late September, and it's expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at that time. That chip has the model number SM8850, but rumors in China have been bubbling for a while regarding the SM8845 also launching this year. This won't be the Snapdragon 8s Gen 5, as it's higher-end than that, but still a step below the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. It's unclear what Qualcomm will call it, but some are assuming it will be Snapdragon 8 Plus. It's billed as pretty much on par, performance-wise, with the original Snapdragon 8 Elite from last year, as it also uses an all-big core CPU configuration with Qualcomm's custom-developed cores. Compared to the 8 Elite, it's going to be fabbed on a newer process, and will use some of the 8 Elite 2's peripherals. So, overall it should be a very slight improvement over the original 8 Elite. Prolific Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station says the SM8845 will be used by Oppo and OnePlus as well as vivo, and the phones which will be powered by it will have very large batteries, up to 8,000 mAh. It's definitely sounding like the SM8845 will become the chipset of choice for 'flagship killer' type devices, and will nicely bridge the performance gap between the 8s series and the 8 Elite lineup. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite gets closer to launch
Vlad, 31 July 2025 Samsung is working on three new tablets at the moment - the high-end Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, as well as the more affordable Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. This has now been spotted in the Bluetooth SIG's database, having received the necessary certification for sale from that organization. This is a normal step on the way to launch, and it signifies that the Tab S10 Lite could be getting official soon. In fact, Samsung's been rumored to unveil it as early as next month. The tablet will be powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. It will support the S Pen and a keyboard, and is expected to sport an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.
