Marvel Drops ‘Ironheart' Trailer, Riri Williams Hands Out Armored Fades
Ironheart , the highly anticipated miniseries starring Dominique Thorne as genius MIT student Riri Williams, is slated to launch this summer. Marvel dropped the official trailer for Ironheart on Wednesday (May 14), which details Riri Williams' journey into superheroism after studying abroad in a famed African nation.
Dominique Thorn stars as Riri Williams, an MIT student from Chicago who is encountered by a mysterious figure known as The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos, who helps fund her mission to build an all-powerful armored suit similar to the suits created by the late Tony Stark, better known to the world as Iron Man.
The trailer shows The Hood testing Williams' brilliance inside her makeshift laboratory, and later promising riches to make her dreams of building a super-suit come true. As it would happen, The Hood doesn't seem to have the purest intentions for Williams, setting up a clash with Ironheart in the future.
The six-part series follows the action shortly after Ryan Coogler's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , where we first encounter Williams after being recruited by the Dora Milaje's top general, Okoye. Coogler also serves as an executive producer for the series, which also stars Lyric Ross as Williams' friend Natalie Washington, and Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, among others.

The Internet Reacts To A New Marvel Fighting Game Without Capcom
This month's State of Play presentation was a certified banger for PlayStation, with a ton of exciting games coming to the PlayStation 5 in the next year. Final Fantasy Tactics remaster? Check. The first look at IO Interactive's James Bond origin story? Got it. But perhaps the biggest announcement was Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a new 4v4 fighting game starring Marvel superheroes by Arc System Works, the developer behind some incredible anime fighters like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, the Persona 4 Arena games, and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Fighting Souls closed out the showcase, and the game looks incredible. Arc System Works is consistently putting out some of the best fighting games on the market, and seeing the game really lean into the studio's signature anime fighter stylings instead of feeling sanitized for the western property is really encouraging. The initial reaction to the trailer was a lot of unbridled hype, but a Sony-published Marvel fighting game also raises a lot of questions. To start off with the good, the Marvel fandom is already embracing the game. There's excitement around the prospect of 4v4 fights as well as the new anime-inspired designs for classic heroes like Iron Man and Captain America, and folks are already making fun edits of what little we've seen of the game. Even after only seeing a trailer and a behind-the-scenes interview, fans already like what they see. They're also speculating about what other Marvel heroes might show up in the roster and planning possible character combos, so it's clearly made a strong first impression that has fighting game fans' minds racing as they consider Fighting Souls' potential. There's also a fair number of folks joking that this game might spell trouble for the upcoming League of Legends fighting game 2XKO, which also uses a similar tag-team battle format. The girls are fighting. Wrapped up in all this excitement is a big question, however. Is Fighting Souls the future of Marvel fighting games? Does this mean that hopes of a new Marvel vs. Capcom are out the window? It's been eight years since the last installment in Capcom's crossover fighter. 2017's Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is largely considered a disappointment by fans and underperformed financially, so Capcom stopped supporting it fairly quickly. After nearly a decade, fans have started wondering if the series will ever make a comeback. Now, with Arc System Works creating a Marvel-centric fighting game that uses similar tag-team mechanics to those in Marvel vs. Capcom, the prospect of a new game in which Ryu and Cyclops face off seems like a pipe dream. The cuck jokes write themselves. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in 2026. Given Sony is publishing the game and also owns EVO, the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, Fighting Souls is pretty much guaranteed to be a staple of the show next year. This year's tournament begins on August 1, and I wouldn't be surprised if Sony and Arc System Works had more Fighting Souls announcements ready for the event. Star-Lord has already been confirmed as a playable character, so at least one of my mains is locked in. For another, give me Mr. Fantastic, Arc System Works. Kevin Feige Hints That THUNDERBOLTS*'s Big FANTASTIC FOUR Tease Might Not Be What We Think — GeekTyrant
Marvel fans thought they had it all figured out after Thunderbolts* ended with that jaw-dropper of a post-credits scene. It features a mysterious ship entering Earth-616's atmosphere, right as the New Avengers were still struggling to win over public trust. Naturally, speculation exploded… Was that the Fantastic Four finally arriving from a dying reality? And why wouldn't we think that!? The ship had a big Fantastic Four logo on the side of it! But Kevin Feige is here to cool our jets a bit. In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, the Marvel Studios head was asked if that ship was the Excelsior, the signature craft of Marvel's First Family. His response? Classic Feige mischief: "Well, the name of their ship is the Excelsior, and there is a Fantastic Four ship entering the MCU in the tag, but I'm not sure they're the same ship." Not. The. Same. Ship? This implies that the the Fantastic Four might not be on that ship, and if they aren't on board, then who is? There are a few possibilities being tossed around online. One theory is that The Fantastic Four sent Franklin Richards alone, maybe to escape Doctor Doom and prevent him from getting his hands on multiverse-warping powers. Another, is that Doom himself stole the Excelsior and is using Reed Richards' tech to break through the multiversal veil. That would flip the script entirely… imagine expecting Marvel's most first family walking off the ship and getting Victor Von Doom instead, and Victor Von Doom that looks exactly like Tony Stark. Whatever the truth is, The Fantastic Four: First Steps , which drops next month, isn't guaranteed to answer it. That tease may be a slow burn, setting us up for something much bigger in Avengers: Doomsday . Feige's cryptic wordplay is nothing new. But if there's one thing we can count on, it's that the truth will come with some multiversal consequences.

The full Alien: Earth trailer is finally here and it's a doozy
In space, no one can hear you, uh, stream. We finally have a real trailer for the upcoming Alien: Earth TV series and it looks extremely cool. FX dropped a teaser a few months back, but that was just vibes. This is an actual two-minute trailer that's absolutely packed with footage. For the uninitiated, Alien: Earth is the first TV series in the franchise's long history and is being helmed by Noah Hawley. That's the guy who made the Fargo TV series and the criminally underrated Marvel show Legion . Franchise creator Ridley Scott is also on board as an executive producer. This is a prequel that's set just two years before the original film. As the name suggests, it takes place on Earth. The trailer indicates the story will involve a ship crashing into a large corporate-controlled city. This vessel may or may not have a fearsome Xenomorph aboard, among other notable alien species. A character in the clip says that the ship "collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe," going on to suggest that one is "predatory." That's right. We could be getting a dang Predator in our Alien TV show. Alien: Earth premieres on August 12 on FX and will be available to stream on Hulu. The show stars Sydney Chandler as a hybrid robot/human lifeform tasked with investigating the crash. The rest of the cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther and Samuel Blenkin, among others.
