Justin Trudeau takes major step in Katy Perry ‘romance' with concert date
The gig comes just days after the two were filmed dining together at a high-end local restaurant.
The sighting has reignited speculation about the nature of their relationship, turning a political retirement into something far splashier.
Social media erupted late Tuesday night as concertgoers at Perry's July 30 show shared footage of Trudeau, 53, in the audience at the Bell Centre.
He wasn't alone, as his 16-year-old daughter Ella-Grace was at his side, beaming as the pop star powered through her chart-topping setlist.
But it wasn't just a father-daughter night out that got people talking. Eyewitness videos appear to show Trudeau visibly enjoying Perry's performance, mouthing lyrics to Dark Horse and watching her acrobatic stage routine with wide-eyed admiration.
One clip shows him momentarily frozen as Perry strikes a pose mid-song, a soft grin possibly betraying more than casual appreciation.
The concert appearance follows closely on the heels of the much buzzed-about dinner between Trudeau and Perry at Le Violon, an upscale French restaurant in downtown Montreal.
The two were filmed together on July 28 in a moment that has since gone viral, fueling wild speculation and a flurry of memes.
Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that both Trudeau and Perry are recently single.
Trudeau announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire in 2023, while Perry reportedly split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom earlier this summer.
Though there has been no official comment from either camp, the timing and visibility of their outings have left fans and media alike leaning in with curiosity. More Trending
While some observers are dismissing the events as coincidental or simply a high-profile friendship, others have been quick to project something more.

Critics, however, have pointed to the spectacle as a calculated rebranding effort for both parties – Perry, 40, shifting her public image post-Orlando, and Trudeau stepping further into post-political life with a dose of celebrity glamour.
But if that's the case, it's working. The internet hasn't stopped talking since the sightings emerged.
For now, it remains to be seen whether this is a flirtation, a friendship, or just a fascinating coincidence.

Where was ‘The Count of Monte Cristo' filmed? Behind the locations of Sam Claflin's new period drama
From black-and-white silent films and series to regional adaptations, French thrillers, and a Jim Caviezel noughties hit, Alexandre Dumas's 1844 classic The Count of Monte Cristo makes for evergreen source material for film and TV. Now, The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin puts his own charming spin on the vengeance-seeking prisoner Edmond Dantes in a new eight-episode miniseries that faithfully recreates the tumultuous years of early 19th-century France. True to Dumas' novel, the TV adaptation promises political conspiracies, personal vendettas, and sprawling locations from palatial French ballrooms to grim island fortresses. What is The Count of Monte Cristo about? The French-Italian production stars Claflin as Dantes, a man wrongfully imprisoned for treason. The site of his unlawful incarceration is the Château d'If, a wave-carved island off the coast of Marseilles. It's in the claustrophobic confines of this prison where Edmond silently plans his next move. Cut off from civilisation and his ladylove for fifteen years, Edmond returns a changed man, chancing upon some hidden treasure and taking on a new identity. His complicated schemes of revenge and manipulation lead to some delectable period drama. With Danish Oscar-winner Bille August (Pelle the Conqueror, 1998's Les Misérables) delivering his flair for grand historical narratives, the series resurrects Dumas's all-time classic with meticulous production design and gripping performances. Where was The Count of Monte Cristo filmed? Filming for the series commenced between August and December 2023, incorporating locations in France, Italy, and Malta. The shooting locations go in tandem with the novel's Mediterranean settings. While France is the heart of the story, it's in various spots in Italy where the broken hero Edmond Dantes rediscovers a new purpose in his life. Palais-Royal, Paris, France A French royal palace dating back to the 16 th century, the magnificently spread-out Palais-Royal complex overlooks the Louvre Museum and is one of Paris's most identifiable landmarks. The palace's grand exterior, spacious gardens, arched windows, and detailed ornamentation inside make it an ideal spot to double as a palace and ballroom for The Count of Monte Cristo 's major moments. Additionally, some of these sequences were also filmed at Paris's globally-renowned Opéra Garnier. The palace is currently the seat of the French culture ministry but it has changed many hands over the centuries. It was initially the personal residence of Cardinal Richelieu (interestingly, also the villain in Dumas' The Three Musketeers). Since then, the palace's ownership shifted between Louis XII, then Louis XIV, and so on. The Palais is also a hotbed for France-set Hollywood productions like The Da Vinci Code, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Interview with the Vampire, and the Netflix streaming hit Emily in Paris. Place des Vosges, Paris The Place des Vosges is Paris's oldest planned square, once dominating the chic gentry of the city during the 17th and 18th centuries. The trimmed bushes and varnished houses here formed the exterior for the house of Baron Danglar, the scheming villain behind Edmond Dantes's miseries. Chateau de Suisnes, France As for Danes's county house, the production team set up base outside Paris at Chateau de Suisnes. The quaint mansion lies in northern France, less than an hour away from the capital city. Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano, Turin From its opera houses to piazzas, Turin is a medieval time capsule. So, it's not surprising that the city hosted scenes in The Count of Monte Cristo. One location that preserves such old-school charm is the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano aka the Museum of the Risorgimento (the 19th-century movement focusing on unfying the Italian states into a single nation). It used to be Italy's first parlliament building but is now one of the country's grandest museums. Other Italian locations where The Count of Monte Cristo was filmed include the Palazzo Villanova in the commune of Strambino. The crew also reconstructed a hotel south of Turin, inside the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, an 18th century hunting lodge that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Piazza Farnese, Rome Set a few years after the French Revolution and Napoleon's exile, The Count of Monte Cristo finds Edmond witnessing a criminal facing the guillotine in the city square. This gnarly execution comes to life at Rome's Piazza Farnese, the main square of Rome's Regola district. Edmond's Parisian apartment was also set up outside France with Roman palace of Palazzo Taverna. Malta Film Studios, Malta Off the coast of Marseilles, Edmond challenges death and plots his revenge as he's trapped in the island prison of the Château d'If. Yet again, the crew didn't rely only in France and opted for sets in Malta. Maltese locations like Mdina and Manoel Island, Gzira were also used for filming exterior shots of Marseilles. Who stars in The Count of Monte Cristo? Edmond Dantes, aka the titular count, is played by Claflin, the star of films like The Hunger Games franchise and Me Before You. On television, he's best known as fascist politician Oswald Mosley in Peaky Blinders. Claflin is joined by veteran actor Jeremy Irons, who has had his fair share of period dramas like The Man in the Iron Mask (another Dumas adaptation), Kingdom of Heaven, The Borgias, and Brideshead Revisited. Irons plays Abbé Faria, a wise priest imprisoned on the same island as Edmond. French actress Ana Girardot (Escobar: Paradise Lost) plays Edmond's long-term love interest, the French noblewoman Mercedes. Other cast members include Danish actor Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (A Royal Affair) and British actress Poppy Colette Corby-Tuech (Fantastic Beasts series).

WWE star Tiffany Stratton reveals a man stamped on her face after fighting his girlfriend in the street
Tiffany Stratton has opened up for the first time about getting into a vicious street fight that ended with a man stamping on her face and breaking her cheekbone. The 26-year-old spoke about the incident during her appearance on Logan Paul 's 'Impaulsive' podcast, leaving her famous host stunned by the details of how badly she was hurt. Stratton even admitted she sparked the altercation but evidently had no idea how things were going to end. 'I don't know if I should talk about this,' she said. 'After one of my (NXT) matches , I cut somebody off from my parking garage and they were like yelling at me from their car. 'So I pulled over... and they pull over and a guy gets out of the car. So I get out of the car. We are talking s***, talking s***, then his girlfriend gets out of the car. Yeah, two on one. 'I start talking s*** with the girlfriend, I push her, she pushes me back. We start f***ing brawling. And then she takes her long ass nails, gets them in my braid and gets me down on the ground. 'And this is where it takes a turn. The guy just f***ing stomps on my face. I broke a facebone - nobody knows this, you're welcome. And that's why I was out for so long in NXT. 'It was right here (the bone break - pointing to her left cheekbone). And I still don't have feeling in my tooth right here (pointing to her front tooth). I had a big footmark on my face, too.' Paul was visibly stunned, shouting: 'He really stomped the s*** out of you!' Stratton didn't say precisely when the fight happened but her admission that it caused her to miss time with NXT indicates that it was during the 2023-24 timespan she spent with the organization. Stratton moved from NXT to the main WWE roster in 2024 and has quickly established herself as one of the most iconic current characters in wrestling. She defended her WWE Women's Championship title against Jade Cargill recently at SummerSlam in New Jersey.

This Wednesday season 2 filming location has a devastating haunted past
A staircase in a chilling castle is the site of a tragedy that haunts to this day. Wednesday season 2 has finally dropped today on Netflix, reuniting fans of the mega hit with the ever-magnificent Jenna Ortega as the titular teen goth. Before part one was released, Metro had the chance to visit Ireland's gothic Charleville Castle, one of the filming locations for the creepy new series. There, I heard the gasp-inducing tale of the little girl Harriet, who died there over 160 years ago, but is said to still haunt the halls. The second season of Wednesday was filmed in a variety of new locations, after the production moved from Romania to Ireland – albeit with Romanian actor Victor Dorobanțu as the scene-stealing Thing still scuttling in tow. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Among the Irish locations scouted out for the new bundle of episodes is the gothic Grade I listed fortress Charleville, in County Offaly, whose crow and bat-topped corridors have been walked by Jenna, Tim Burton – and us, as I was treated to a visit. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video As I walked through the mammoth wooden double doors into Charleville Castle, it was instantly clear why this was the ideal spot to unspool Wednesday's tale of mystery and mayhem. The rooms are moody (getting the right lighting to take pictures for this article was a task) and filled with antique furniture, which made it easy to imagine it as the site of a gruesome death. We were soon told that the castle is a lore-laden place where things are said to go bump in the night. By things, we mean creepy ghost children. I didn't experience anything too spooky while walking through the lofty castle – unless you count getting a glimpse inside the library's secret passageway, which features in the show. However, it's easy to imagine how the shadowy corners could prey on a scaredy-cat. I would not want to stay the night. One of the spots that was used to film scenes for Wednesday season two was Harriet's staircase, a gloomy spot that takes on even gloomier significance when we're told an eight-year-old girl tragically fell to her death there. The story goes that the youngest daughter of the third Earl of Charleville, who once upon a time owned the castle, was asked by her governess to go upstairs and wash her hands before a meal. On the way back down the gloomy three-story staircase, Harriet is said to have clambered up onto the bannister to slide down. She slipped and fell to her death on the flagstone tiles below. A brass guard was subsequently installed on the bannister to stop those who might have a similar idea. Since then, the staircase has become one of the castle's hotspots for so-called activity… of the paranormal kind. Bonnie Vance, 75, who helped form a charitable trust to restore the castle after it fell into disrepair and lives there with her son, said she has only seen the ghosts 'occasionally', but often hears them. What is it that she's heard? Children giggling, voices talking, the scraping sounds of furniture being moved in rooms that stand empty. (Yikes.) She later learned the jangle of children playing was coming from a room that had once been a nursery. Guests at the castle have heard who-knows-what move in the night and asked to switch rooms – again, I would not want to stay the night. Most of the spectral racket takes place in the small hours from 2am to 3am. One unassuming bedroom – an imposing bed decked out in scarlet red covers, next to arched windows that don't come with curtains attached – is supposed to be a hub of ghoulish hijinks, with a door that has been reported to lock people in and out at will. Bonnie shut the door when we were inside, leaving everyone with a brief but queasy feeling. 'My official statement on the ghosts is I don't believe in them,' says Bonnie's son Jonathan, the only one of her three children who stuck around to help manage the castle, 'but I won't say it loud enough for them to hear me.' Bonnie insists that she isn't scared of the ghosts ('They're friendly') and speaks very tenderly of late Harriet. What the Wednesday cast made of all these eerie tales, we don't know. They were spared an overnight stay, instead setting up in the nearby town of Tullamore. But Ortega and co did get on very well with the castle's black cat, Mirka, who was known to take up residence on their hot water bottles. (The castle has no central heating and hit-and-miss power supplies). Leap Castle. Many were locked up and executed at Leap Castle and it now has a reputation that puts it in the running for most haunted house of all time. Said to be haunted by a demon with a decaying face, among a few others. Eek. The Hell Fire Club . This old hunting lodge had an 'anything goes' mantra, with noble members who wouls once dabble in black magic and summon Satan. With a name like that, it's not surprising. . This old hunting lodge had an 'anything goes' mantra, with noble members who wouls once dabble in black magic and summon Satan. With a name like that, it's not surprising. Loftus Hall. Built in County Wexford during the Black Death, this mansion is also a spot said to have been visited by Satan and legend goes he still lurks there now. The castle was one of the locations that Wednesday director Tim Burton signed off on, as the production had the double duty this season of not only finding a whole new roster of Irish locations, but ones that would pass for their predecessors in Romania. The reason for the swap? Locations manager Maria O'Connor, who's been in the screen locations biz for over 30 years and worked with Wednesday's showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar on Into The Badlands, said they chose Ireland because the creators have loved working there in the past. The country isn't spoiled for choice of gothic castles, so Charleville was an easy decision. As were many of the picks, Maria said, since the Edward Scissorhands director isn't one to hum and haw. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it sounds like Tim's company is not of the dull variety. When scouting out the building that would become Nevermore Academy's exterior (with an ornate new canopy digitally plonked on top in post-production) Tim tasked Maria with scrambling up ladders to get onto the roof for a proper looksee. This building sits within Powerscourt Estate, the other chief location used, beside Ashford Studios for the interior scenes, and owned by the Slazenger family (of the sporting gear). A mossy foliage-covered graveyard was one of the spots, with smoke machines pumping away during moody night shoots, just inches from the Slazenger family's private graveyard in the corner. The 19-hectare County Wicklow estate has swanky gardens, a dramatic nearby waterfall and a 36-hole golf course – which avid golfer Catherine Zeta Jones made full use of while filming. There was less of a requirement for this part to fit into the mould of what had gone before, since it serves as the home of new cast addition Joanna Lumley's character Hester. Whether the location changes will be picked up by ardent Wednesday fandom (of which suggested names online have included Woes, Outcasts and Thursdays – because it follows Wednesday…) remains to be seen. The episodes we have seen certainly look more lush than previously, but County Wicklow is referred to as the Garden of Ireland after all. The attention to detail has certainly been paid, down to replicating the exact same tree layout as that shot in Romania. Not that Maria overly hypes how hard it all was, simply describing it as 'tricky'. More Trending But Wednesday is now in Ireland to stay. Filming for the third season kicks off this November, and the Addams family car has stayed in situ in the meantime. As has the Nevermore Academy chandelier, with head-sized orbs of light that hang over the main staircase in Charleville Castle. It was a gift from the production. Although you almost feel they've done enough. The castle might have claims of otherworldly visitations, but if anything, that will only make the curious Wednesday loyalists – who were devout enough to visit Romania in droves – even more eager to take a look in.
