The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returned to Disney+ last week and viewers cant get enough of the explosive drama that has them all left saying the same thing.
Season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has landed on Disney+ and if the goal was to shock and provoke, it has succeeded.
The new 10-episode season dives even deeper into the hidden underworld of Utah's most camera-ready religious influencers - the 'MomTok' group - peeling back the layers of religion to reveal a world filled with cheating rumours, swinging confessions and casual ketamine use.
The show follows around the 'MomTok' group - Taylor Frankie Paul, Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor and Miranda McWhorter - who are supposed to follow strict Mormon beliefs.
These include no sex before marriage, no coffee or alcohol and no adultery, yet these acts still find a way into the show.
The group of mums preach that 'MomTok' is all about 'empowering women' and the show leans heavily into the language of empowerment and modern womanhood away from religion.
Throughout the season we see cast members Jessi and Jen speak about the reason for 'MomTok' and preach about empowerment.
As Jen tells her husband Zac: "As a group we're trying to influence the world. We're trying to empower women," to which Zac replied: "But you guys just s**t on each other."
While new-comer Miranda, seems conflicted on the 'girl-hood' vibe of 'MomTok' as she is shown in a confessional saying: "I can't help but wonder. If this is what women support women looks like, cause it certainly doesn't feel like it."
This has prompted viewers to take to social media, and voice their opinion on what 'MomTok' is really about. During a lengthy Reddit thread, they discussed what 'MomTok' looks like to viewers of the show.
"Perhaps I'm being too cynical," one user wrote, "but I don't believe the narrative that MomTok is meant to empower and support women. Maybe in the very beginning, but it's become a business for these women."
A second viewer was not so convinced with the 'empowering women' side to 'MomTok', calling out the cast to be more 'real'. They said: "Please for the love of Joseph Smith, STOP with the 'MomTok is all about women supporting women!' b*****t. No one believes this drivel. Y'all certainly don't! And we the viewers DEFINITELY don't fall for it."
While a third highlighted that the show is full of petty conflict, husband-blaming and fighting, as they wrote: "It's about women supporting women!" Proceeds to centre men and misogyny at every turn."
As another viewer simply stated: "'Women support women' is a phrase they all use so so much that it's virtually meaningless. None of these women are feminists lmao."
Although not everyone felt so strong about the issue, as one viewer stated: "Who cares what they think MomTok is all about, it is great television."

And for those who have been avid followers of the hit franchise based on Diana Gabaldon 's best-selling books, many fans have been taking the time to re-watch old series of Outlander or share their thoughts. Some of which has caused debate among the fanbase. One fan sparked up a widely-agreed opinion on Roger and Brianna's romance. Those in particular who have read the books have been left 'disappointed' at actor Richard Rankin taking on the role of Roger, and his lack of chemistry with Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton). Taking to discussion platform Reddit, one fan voiced: "I really don't like Roger. 'And then I went to a homeopath and she asked me all of these questions about when I'd been poorly and she was like, 'Listen, I've written out a timeline here of when you've not been working, and that is when you've been at your most unwell'. 'She was like, 'Can you do another job?'. And I said, 'No, it's my whole personality.' 'It was a big wake-up call that it was literally making me unwell, the stress of not working and feeling like I wasn't good enough or didn't have anything going on. 'Blame and shame' 'I placed so much of my self-worth and my confidence and even who I was on being an actor and whether I was working. 'Going to family parties at Christmas, everyone's saying, 'What are you up to?'. Like, absolutely nothing. And it can feel like you're letting everyone down. 'I do think when you play someone like that and then you step out of it, there's part of you that's like, maybe I could be a little bit more tough. 'They sort of rub off on you a little bit, just like you learn from your friends.' Away from the camera, Laura has trained to become a counsellor with mental health text service Shout. Be kind to yourself when you're not feeling good and just try and do the things that make you feel good She said: 'It's brilliant. You can do a shift whenever you want. People text in when they're in crisis. 'Obviously that's more helpful to society than me getting a job in a TV commercial.' And she concentrates on exercising for her health — not just for her body image — to help deal with her ulcerative colitis. She added: 'I drink less now. I'm no saint, I absolutely get smashed at least once a year, I just fall completely off the wagon. But I will always leave a night out early these days. 'I'm just a bit more boring than I used to be. But overall, it really makes me feel much better.' When she is not working, Matt, who she married six years ago, encourages her to relax. She said: 'He is so chilled out and very even-keeled, he's a cool guy. 'I think he has also been really instrumental in encouraging me to allow myself, if I've not got anything on, to be like, 'Why don't you go to the cinema?'. 'I'm like, 'Just go and spend money on a day when I haven't got a job?'. He'll be like, 'Yeah, just go and do something nice for yourself'. And she has taken notice. Laura said: 'I think you can be so fooled by hearing other people talk about what they do, to think that they're perfect — and they're not. They're probably falling spectacularly off the wagon.
