Weekly poll: would you buy the Realme GT 7 or the GT 7T?

GSM Arena08-06-2025
The Realme GT series is home to some of the best value-for-money phones on the market and the latest generation is showing great promise. Is the GT 7 or the GT 7T the right phone for you?
The Realme GT 7 has excellent build quality, a bright, colorful LTPO display, good stereo sound and a solid camera performance. The Dimensity 9400e chipset is pretty speedy, as is the 120W charging (you have to buy your own adapter, though). The 7,000mAh Si/C battery currently holds the top spot in our battery life chart by quite some margin.

The Realme GT 7T makes some cutbacks to hit a lower price point. That means a non-LTPO display (otherwise it's a similar 6.8' OLED panel with 6,000 nits peak brightness), a mid-range Dimensity 8400 Max chipset and no telephoto camera. The phone is still rated IP69 and it still has a 7,000mAh Si/C battery with 120W charging, though.

You can read more about the Realme GT 7 camera in our review. In short the 50MP main camera (1/1.56', OIS) produces good but not great photos day and night, the 50MP 2x telephoto camera (1/2.76', no OIS) is okay but it is held back by the short focal length. On the downside, the 8MP ultra-wide is a bit of a letdown (no 4K videos and no AF), the 32MP selfie camera could have been better too.
Realme GT 7 and GT 7T at a glance
The GT 7T has basically the same set of cameras, minus the telephoto module. The different chipset will have different processing too, of course.
Note that the Realme GT 7 and GT 7T will receive 4 major OS updates and a total of six years of security patches. They launch with Realme UI 6 based on Android 15.
Here are the prices for European and Indian markets: Configuration Realme GT 7 Realme GT 7T 12GB/256GB €750/₹43,000 €650/₹38,000 12GB/512GB €800/₹47,000 €700/₹42,000 Realme GT 7 5G Realme GT 7T 5G
The GT models compete against the likes of the Poco F7 Ultra (SD 8 Elite, €700), OnePlus 13R (SD 8 Gen 3, €600) and Samsung Galaxy S25+ (SD 8 Elite, €1,150). They all have telephoto cameras – 50MP 2x for the Poco and OnePlus, 10MP 3x for the Galaxy. So, the GT 7T misses out on zooming in, but it still has strengths.
The batteries of these phones are smaller, even the 13R with its 6,000mAh capacity is significantly behind. Also, their water resistance ratings aren't as good, the 13R only has IP65, which isn't great for a near flagship.
Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra • OnePlus 13R • Samsung Galaxy S25+ • Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro
The Poco X7 Pro (Dimensity 8400 Ultra, €300) doesn't have a tele camera and its 50MP main has a small 1/1.95' sensor. It is cheap, though, and still had enough budget for an IP69 certification. The battery has 6,000mAh capacity in Europe and 6,550mAh in India, charging is 90W in both cases.
With all that in mind, is the Realme GT 7 on the short list of phones to consider for your next upgrade?
What about the Realme GT 7T, does its slightly lower price tag make it more appealing despite having certain downgrades?

Samsung Galaxy A07 and A17 get more certifications, F17 shows up in support pages

Samsung is currently working on a bunch of entry-level smartphones - the Galaxy A07, A17, and F17. The Galaxy A07 has just been certified by NBTC in Thailand, while the A17 5G has received the GCF stamp of approval, both usual steps on the road to becoming official. Neither of these certifications has revealed any specs, unfortunately. Meanwhile, the Galaxy F17 5G's support page has gone live on Samsung's regional websites for both India and Bangladesh, with the model number SM-E176B/DS. Galaxy A07 (left), Galaxy A17 (center) certifications, Galaxy F17 support page (right) The F17 5G is very likely to be a rebranded A17 5G, perhaps with a couple of minor spec changes here and there. And the Galaxy A07 will also spawn the M07 and F07, which will probably be very similar to it too. Speaking of the A07, this one is rumored to come with the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC at the helm, while the A17 5G should get the Exynos 1380 and OIS support for its main camera. Both devices will apparently come with 6GB of RAM and will launch running Android 15, despite the fact that Android 16 is already out (then again, Samsung's One UI 8 based on it hasn't been finalized yet). vivo V60 teaser campaign starts, battery capacity and colors revealed

vivo's V60 is landing in India next month, though recent rumors have been contradictory with regard to the actual launch date - it's either August 12 or August 19, apparently. We've seen the handset in leaked renders not long ago, and today the brand itself has started the teaser campaign for the V60. According to vivo's dedicated microsite, the portrait capabilities will be front and center, and the V60 is co-branded with Zeiss. It will be "India's slimmest smartphone with a 6,500 mAh battery", vivo has officially revealed, and will have a slim profile making it easier to hold. vivo V60 official image It will be offered in Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray. It sports an equal-depth quad-curved screen too, and these are all the details that vivo has outed so far. vivo V60 official images showing all three colors Past rumors have claimed it's powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, and will boast a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with "1.5K" resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 1,300-nit peak brightness, a triple rear camera setup (50 MP main, 50 MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 8 MP ultrawide), as well as a 50 MP selfie snapper. The 6,500 mAh battery will allegedly charge at up to 90W, and the phone should also have an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. By the looks of it, this seems to be a rebranding of the Chinese vivo S30.

Canalys: Huawei is back as number 1 in China in Q2 of 2025

Canalys released its report on the Chinese smartphone market in the second quarter of 2025. The world's biggest smartphone ground showed a slight decline of 4% compared to Q2 of 2024 but is still en route to outperform the global smartphone market in 2025. Huawei was the largest smartphone vendor in the second quarter, shipping 12.2 million phones, which accounted for 18% of the market share. That's a 15% increase year-over-year. Huawei's HarmonyOS 5.0-powered Nova 14 series proved key in its Q2 success. Close in second was vivo with 11.8 million units shipped - a 17% share of the market. Vivo's staggered release strategy saw new models in the X200, S30, and Y300 series. Oppo (featuring OnePlus models as well) was third with 10.7 million units shipped, or 16% of the market. Xiaomi and Apple were fourth and fifth with a shared 15% of the market and 10.4 million and 10.1 million shipped phones, respectively. Canalys projects that vendors would face challenges to keep momentum going as H1 of 2025 saw greater demand, thanks to a national subsidy program that has now ended. Source
