Kate Middleton and Prince William Have a Strict Rule for Staff When Interacting with Their Children
There is no live-in staff, but a nanny, gardener, and housekeeper are on the grounds frequently.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have a strict rule that they require staff to abide by so as to protect their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.Prince William and Kate Middleton keep the staff as light as possible around their four-bedroom home, Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor. But the staff they do have are required to follow 'one strict rule in order to protect their three children,' according to The Mirror.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have no staff living with them at home, but they do have a nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrllo, around them frequently, as well as a housekeeper and a gardener, the outlet reported. There is also a team based at their parents' office at Kensington Palace, where the Wales family of five used to live before moving out to Windsor in 2022.
In a recent job posting for the housekeeping role, the position was described as an 'exciting opportunity' to work for the Prince and Princess of Wales and 'join a supportive and positive team.' But there is a strict zero tolerance policy for gossiping, with William and Kate specifying that applicants had to be skilled at 'maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion' (which, of course, makes sense).
According to Valentine Low, author of Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, an employee said that casual wear is preferred around the Wales family and that formal attire is actually frowned upon (via The Sun).
'The kids run around the office, and he [William] does not want it to be stuffy,' a source told Low. 'If we have important meetings or are going to Buckingham Palace, then of course we [dress up].'
In an effort to keep George, Charlotte, and Louis' childhoods as normal as possible at home, Adelaide Cottage has no royal butler, and royal biographer Robert Hardman wrote in his book Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story that 'The couple did not seek to boost the staff members at Adelaide Cottage, not least because there would be little room to do so. Reports that the prince was hiring a valet were knocked back.'
'The Kensington Palace team does include a 'yeoman,' a multitasking attendant who looks after everything from luggage to uniforms, but there is no 'gentleman's gentleman' on the staff,' Hardman continued. 'And certainly no butler. It's very much them at home with the kids.'
A source previously said of the Prince and Princess of Wales' family life that 'I think it would surprise people to see how ordinary things are at home. The children help with laying the table, clearing their plates when they've finished eating, and tidying up. There's no preferential treatment.'

Russell T Davies Wants You to Stop Asking Him If ‘Doctor Who' Is Dead or Not
We can officially add Russell T Davies to the list of creative people who've become irritated with fans wanting updates on a particular project they're inextricably linked to. Think George R.R. Martin and The Winds of Winter, or James Gunn and The Batman Part II. Now, the Doctor Who showrunner from 2005-2010 and again since 2023 would like you to stop asking him Doctor Who questions. No doubt those queries have only gotten more intense thanks to the utter lack of updates about the show's future. Ncuti Gatwa's run as the character ended when the Fifteenth Doctor regenerated—confusingly—at the end of May, and fans still have no idea what's coming next, if at all. 'There's nothing to report, nothing's happening. You'll know when you know, when we know. I don't know,' Davies said on the Pilot TV podcast this week (via Doctor Who TV). He also pointed out, 'Conversations are between the BBC and Disney. I don't work for either of them. I work for Bad Wolf, so I'm not part of those rooms. So I literally don't know. And even people I work with every day, so they couldn't know what's really going on. I'm going, 'I don't know.' I really don't know.' In another recent interview, this time with the Big Issue magazine (via Deadline), he brought up the fact that even though he's devoted a lot of his career to Doctor Who, that's not all he's done. 'I love Doctor Who, but I don't own it. It's not mine. So in the end, my heart will always be with the things that I own,' including shows he created himself like Queer as Folk. The magazine did ask him about the future of Doctor Who, because frankly, people are dying to know. He gave a one-word answer: 'Behave!' That's not quite Gunn telling Batman Part II speculators to 'Get off Matt [Reeves]' nuts,' but we may escalate there soon. Want more io9 news? Prince Harry and Prince William's ‘Profound' Rift Won't End Until One ‘Apologizes': Royal Author
The end to Prince Harry and Prince William's yearslong tensions could come down to one of them deciding to call it quits. Royal author Robert Lacey, who wrote Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, told People that the royal siblings have been unmoved thus far as they both 'deeply believe' they are 'fighting for profound points of principle.' 'The rift is very profound and very long-lasting,' he explained. 'It will not be changed, in my opinion, until Harry makes a move and apologizes.' Historian Amanda Foreman appeared to agree with Lacey's first point, telling the outlet that a reconciliation between the brothers has been 'impossible' as 'everyone wants it to happen on their terms.' Harry, 40, and William, 43, supposedly initially fell out in 2018 over the elder royal's alleged treatment of Meghan Markle. 'Harry felt William wasn't rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so,' a source told royal journalist Katie Nicholl per Cosmopolitan. 'They had a bit of a fallout, which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort.' However, tensions rose once again when Harry and Meghan, 44, made the decision to officially leave their royal duties in 2020 and moved their family to California. In May 2021, William and Harry both attended a ceremony for the unveiling of a statue dedicated to their late mother, Princess Diana, but they chose to make separate statements. 'You might have thought they'd go for a joint statement and speech, but that's not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own,' an insider spilled to The Sun at the time. 'It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well and they won't present a united front.' Harry also made several shocking allegations against William in his memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023. In March 2024, a source told People that their father, King Charles III, would 'like' Harry to come back home and would be 'much happier' if his sons were 'friends again.' 'But he realizes that is just not about to happen,' added the source. Solve the daily Crossword

Kelly Osbourne Posts Photo from Ozzy's Private Funeral
Kelly Osbourne shared a photo from her father Ozzy Osbourne's private funeral held at the family's home in England. In a post to her Instagram stories on Aug. 1, Kelly, 40, shared a photo of a large purple floral arrangement spelled out to read 'Ozzy F--ing Osbourne.' The signage was set alongside a pond on the family's sprawling Buckinghamshire estate, where Ozzy was buried. You can see a photo of the floral sign, which was also posted on Ozzy Osbourne's Instagram page. The setting appeared to be in line with the late rock legend's wishes. 'Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home, and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake,' a source told The Sun of the rock legend, who died on July 22 at age 76. In his 2009 memoir, I Am Ozzy, Osbourne made his burial wishes clear. 'I've said to Sharon, don't cremate me, whatever you do,' he wrote. 'I want to be put in the ground, in a nice garden somewhere with a tree planted over my head. A crabapple tree, preferably, so the kids can make wine out of and get p---ed out of their heads.' Kelly Osbourne Posted a Song Lyric In Honor of Her Dad Kelly Osbourne has not spoken publicly about her father's death, but she has shared a few photos and videos from happier times. Two days after Ozzy's death, Kelly remembered her dad by sharing lyrics from the 1972 Black Sabbath song "Changes,' which she recorded with him as a duet in 2003.
