Prince Harry and Prince William's ‘Profound' Rift Won't End Until One ‘Apologizes': Royal Author
Royal author Robert Lacey, who wrote Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, told People that the royal siblings have been unmoved thus far as they both 'deeply believe' they are 'fighting for profound points of principle.'
'The rift is very profound and very long-lasting,' he explained. 'It will not be changed, in my opinion, until Harry makes a move and apologizes.'
Historian Amanda Foreman appeared to agree with Lacey's first point, telling the outlet that a reconciliation between the brothers has been 'impossible' as 'everyone wants it to happen on their terms.'
Harry, 40, and William, 43, supposedly initially fell out in 2018 over the elder royal's alleged treatment of Meghan Markle.
'Harry felt William wasn't rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so,' a source told royal journalist Katie Nicholl per Cosmopolitan. 'They had a bit of a fallout, which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort.'
However, tensions rose once again when Harry and Meghan, 44, made the decision to officially leave their royal duties in 2020 and moved their family to California.
In May 2021, William and Harry both attended a ceremony for the unveiling of a statue dedicated to their late mother, Princess Diana, but they chose to make separate statements.
'You might have thought they'd go for a joint statement and speech, but that's not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own,' an insider spilled to The Sun at the time. 'It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well and they won't present a united front.'
Harry also made several shocking allegations against William in his memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023.
In March 2024, a source told People that their father, King Charles III, would 'like' Harry to come back home and would be 'much happier' if his sons were 'friends again.'
'But he realizes that is just not about to happen,' added the source.

Kylie Jenner Quietly Signals Where She Stands With Timothée Chalamet Amid Breakup Rumors
THE RUNDOWN Amid Timothée Chalamet breakup rumors, Kylie Jenner quietly showed she's still his supportive girlfriend this week. She liked her boyfriend's Instagram about his Marty Supreme trailer, which he shared on August 12. The Sun reported that Jenner's recent Instagram Stories featuring breakup songs 'Lover, You Should've Come Over' by Jeff Buckley and 'Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying' by Labi Saffre had sparked concern among fans. Chalamet has been shooting Dune: Part Three in Hungary but was seen in France with Jenner earlier this summer. Jenner and Chalamet have kept their two-year relationship mostly to themselves. Jenner told ELLE last fall that she prefers not to talk about her love life. 'I think it's important to keep things to yourself,' she said. 'It's hard for me to make a decision by myself sometimes, so the opinion of the whole world…it can be tough.' Jenner still follows Chalamet on Instagram. Chalamet doesn't follow anyone on the platform. In May, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Jenner would love to have a very serious future with her partner. 'Kylie thinks Timothée is so great with her kids [7-year-old Stormi and 3-year-old Aire, whom Jenner shares with ex Travis Scott], and she has told her closest friends that she would love to have another baby with him some day,' the insider said. Jenner is 'so in love with Timothée,' the source added. 'She loves learning about his world and supporting him whenever she can.'

Instagram/ Nicola Peltz Beckham 'I love seeing people who spend years in therapy over toxic family ties coming here and judging someone who actually had the guts to walk away,' Faria wrote under the post. 'Everyone's been kissing the Beckhams' ass forever, and Nicola was the first to stand up for her values since [she] couldn't care less about their fame or money!' Faria continued. 'The moment they couldn't control everything, they lost it and started planting fake press to make her look bad in the public eye.' 13 Rebecca Faria defends Nicola Peltz on Instagram. Faria went on to state that she's known Peltz 'for years' and said the actress is 'genuine, humble, and refuses to live in a fake world.' 'Brooklyn is a grown man who can defend himself just fine!' Faria added about Victoria and David Beckham's 26-year-old son. 'If he walked away, it's because he knows exactly the environment he grew up in.' 13 Nicola Peltz's friend, Rebecca Faria. detoxbyrebecca/Instagram One fan replied to Faria's comment and called Peltz 'a toxic, controlling narcissist hell bent on turning him against his family and friends so she can have him all to herself.' In response, Faria wrote back, 'Calling Nicola controlling is just lazy. She's not holding anyone hostage. Brooklyn is a grown man who's fully capable of making his own choices. He is an adult who's perfectly aware of the life he wants, and he's living it.' 13 Rebecca Faria responds to a fan who called Nicola Peltz 'controlling.' 13 Rebecca Faria in a mirror selfie. detoxbyrebecca/Instagram The Post has reached out to reps for Peltz, Brooklyn, and the Beckhams for comment. What Conrad and Laurel Scene Means for Belly in ‘TSITP'
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty continued its streak of bringing key book moments to life this week, this time with a heart-wrenching Laurel and Conrad scene. Now, TSITP star Jackie Chung is breaking down the iconic moment and hinting at what that Conrad and Laurel scene could mean for Belly's future. 'I was looking forward to this one,' Jackie said in an interview with People. 'I look for those book moments [in the script], and I remember reading this Conrad scene in the book and just thinking, 'Ooh, I love this one.'' In the scene, Conrad convinces Laurel to support Belly and Jeremiah's wedding, even though he's obviously still in love with Belly, because he wants her to be happy, prompting Laurel to ask Conrad when he gets to be happy. (Insert broody Conrad here.) Jackie, who has played Laurel for three seasons, explained Laurel's motivations in the scene, saying, 'I do think she recognizes that he has feelings for Belly.' She continued, 'And I think she's pushing him a little to open up and let them out, so that he can be happy and not just harbor these feelings and bury them.' But make no mistake—just because Laurel is encouraging Conrad doesn't mean she wants him marrying her daughter, either. 'I really feel firmly about this, that Laurel is Team Belly,' Jackie said. 'She does not want her to get married at this point in her life—to anyone. She wants her to grow and mature first.' Still, Jackie admits that Laurel and Conrad's conversation could lead to Conrad actually fighting for Belly in future episodes. 'I see how her being like, 'Hey, find your happiness, Conrad,' could lead to him mucking things up for Jeremiah and Belly.' Oh, and while chatting with People, she also talked about *those* Laurel and Susannah romance rumors. When asked whether she thought her character might be more than platonic soulmates with Susannah, Jackie admitted, 'It never crossed my mind.' According to her, it's 'rare to see this kind of love on screen where these women just wholly support each other and care about each other and have a decades-long friendship,' so she can see why fans might get it twisted. As she explained, 'I can understand how people could interpret it that way, I guess. But yeah, no, I just always saw it as a really, really deep friendship.'
