Salalah Health Park: A recreational hub for Khareef Dhofar 2025 season

Organised by the Dhofar Municipality, the event features a designated track for walking and jogging, alongside courts for tennis, volleyball, and basketball. These facilities foster an energetic sports atmosphere that supports a healthy lifestyle and enhances an integrated experience combining physical fitness with family entertainment amidst the moderate Khareef weather.
With its modern amenities, the park offers a range of diverse sports challenges and activities suitable for all age groups, including children, youth, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. This reflects the initiative's inclusivity and its commitment to fostering community interaction.
The park also hosts weekly events organised in a family-friendly, recreational atmosphere. Children's competitions are held every Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, while adult competitions are scheduled for Saturdays at the same time.
It is worth noting that the "Health Park" event aims to develop motor skills, raise awareness about the importance of physical activity, and encourage all segments of society to adopt a healthy lifestyle within an interactive and stimulating environment.

Seeb top Al Nasr, Dhofar down Al Shabab
MUSCAT, JULY 30 The 2025 Khareef Club Tournament heated up as the second round kicked off, bringing plenty of excitement and competitiveness. Dhofar secured a hard-fought victory over Al Shabab with a narrow 1–0 win, while Seeb confirmed their readiness to compete for the title with an important 2–1 triumph over Al Nasr. In the first match, tactical caution dominated the first half between Dhofar and Al Shabab, with both sides closing down spaces and playing disciplined defence, leaving few chances to break the deadlock. The first real threat came in the 21st minute when Brazilian forward Gioulison Lima fired a shot that failed to trouble Dhofar goalkeeper Mazin al Kasbi. Dhofar responded with a dangerous attack led by Abdullah Zahir in the 27th minute, but Al Shabab keeper Abdulmalik al Badri was alert to the danger. The first half ended goalless, with fans eagerly anticipating a different scenario in the second half. Early in the second half, Dhofar capitalised on a defensive lapse from Al Shabab. A long ball found Abdullah Zahir, who controlled it well, weaved through the defence, and fired a powerful shot into the net in the 51st minute to put his team ahead. The Oman Olympic team faces Seeb in a crucial battle for the top spot in Group B, while Al Nahda take on Al Shabab in Group A in a do-or-die encounter, with both teams eyeing a place in the final. In Group B, the Olympic team heads into their match against Seeb with high concentration. Coach Badr al Maimani relies on gradual build-up play and exploiting wing speed, a tactic that was evident in their comfortable win over Al Nasr in the opening match. However, the clash against Seeb will be a bigger test for the team's defensive resilience, especially against Seeb's dangerous attacking duo led by Zahir al Aghbari, who netted both goals in the previous round. The Olympic team will need to control the game tempo and limit space for Seeb's key playmakers. As for Seeb, coached by Romanian Valeriu Tita, the objective is clear: secure qualification. Oman's Optimist Team ready for the 2025 Optimist African Championship in Tanzania
Muscat: Five members of Oman's Optimist Team are currently preparing to travel to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for the 2025 Optimist African Championship. Getting underway on 2 August 2025, the week-long event will bring together 75 of the best Optimist sailors from 14 nations across the region and further afield. Representing Oman will be Khamis Nasser Al Meshaikhi, Mohammed Ziyad Al Qasmi, Khaled Yahya Al Sarihi, Tarteel Zaid Al Hasani and Hadeel Yousuf Al Mushaifri. All five competitors will be aiming to compete for podium positions as well as using the event as a key training event ahead of the IODA Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championships in October. The delegation will be led by Hashim Al Rashdi, Oman Sail's Head Coach Performance, and coached by Hassan Al Rahbi, Optimist Coach. Hashim Al Rashdi said, 'This is an important event in terms of gauging progress against sailors from across our region as well as another opportunity to fine tune the tactical and technical aspects of our sailors. We are now entering a busy period where there are four major events in the coming months. A strong showing in Tanzania will allow us to head home with confidence to build for the next event.' The Optimist team will also compete in the International Optimist Team Race in Swaziland from 14-17 August and the in the Oman Sailing Championship in Sur from 18-22 August. Focus then turns to Mussanah for the 14th edition of Mussanah Race Week, held from 15-22 October, and the IODA Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship following quickly afterwards from 25 October until 1 November.
