Flavio Nazinho 'on the way' to Celtic as Brendan Rodgers has his transfer wish granted
Cercle Brugge left-back Flavio Nazinho is reportedly closing in on a move to Celtic with Brendan Rodgers' set to add competition for Kieran Tierney.
The 21-year-old looks set to replaced the void left by Greg Taylor following the Scotland international's departure to greek outfit PAOK.
HLN report that the Portuguese star is "on his way to Celtic" and a deal could be completed "in the short term."
It is claimed that Nazinho caught the attention of the Scottish Premiership champions at the U21 European Championship after impressing for Portugal.
He joined Cercle permanently for €1million (£866k) and has a contract until 2028 - with Sporting reportedly due 15 per cent of the fee when the player is sold on to another club.
It comes after Brendan Rodgers' made it clear that he was looking for another left-back to compete with returning hero Tierney - despite being impressed by the early impressions made by Hayato Inamura.
Following the 3-2 behind-closed-doors friendly defeat against Estrela Da Amadora in Lisbon, Rodgers said: "The pre-season is always to assess.
"We know the model here at the club is always to improve them. Sometimes that means they come in and you assess and look, and look to see what's right for the development of them and the team.
"That's what I'm about, getting a collection of individual players that I can see development and improvement in.
"If they are going to be close to the first-team, they'll stay and do that. If not, we may feel they need to go out.
"Ina's that example. I just wanted to get the chance to see him and we'll continue to do that.
"But we know in the background that if we need to move on that position, that if we need to move on that position, that's something that we will be ready to do."
Rodgers has previously admitted 23-year-old Inamura could be allowed to leave this summer - despite just joining the club from Albirex Niigata.

Nottingham Forest 'join race' to sign Liverpool's Ben Doak
The Scotland international spent last season on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough in a bid to continue his development with regular first-team minutes. Here, he scored three goals and provided seven assists. The winger, 19, played during Liverpool's pre-season match against Preston North End on Sunday. However, it's not yet known if Arne Slot will find Doak a spot for frequent enough game time in the season ahead. Express Sport reports that Nottingham Forest are one of a few clubs interested in signing Doak. It's said that the Premier League champions and Doak are open to parting ways and the Reds would be open to receiving offers of £25m and above to seal any deal. Forest are in the market for a new electric winger after the recently departed Anthony Elanga, who just secured a move to Newcastle for £55m. Forest are the latest in a long line of potential suitors for Doak and will face other interested parties in Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Everton and long-time admirers, Brentford. Elsewhere, PSV Eindhoven and clubs in Spain are also reportedly interested in his services. The Ayrshire teenager began his career at his hometown club of Dalry Rovers before playing at youth level for Ayr United and Celtic. He featured for Celtic's senior squad on two occasions before securing a dream move down to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at just 16 years old. Just over a year later, he signed his first professional contract with the Anfield club. In his appearances at international level in 2024, he impressed many and stood out in the eyes of the Tartan Army fanbase.

The truth about three Rangers transfer sagas from Lennon Miller interest to the real holdup in Conor Coady move
Rangers are closing in on more signings with Djeidi Gassama set to become addition number seven for Russell Martin Rangers are poised to announce the signing of Sheffield Wednesday winger Djeidi Gassama – but what will be the plan after that deal is over the line? Tonight's Hotline Live had you covered as our man Keith Jackson ran the rule over two deals which are in the pipeline, and one where the 'ship has sailed'. The exciting Wednesday wide man will seal a £2.5m move to Ibrox any time now having travelled to Glasgow to undergo a medical. He trained with Rangers at St George's Park and is set to become signing number seven for Russell Martin. The Championship side aren't happy to see him go after he scored eight times last season, but financial issues have made the sale a must. And speaking on the deal on tonight's live show, Jackson said: "They've basically got the deal done. There were little bits just to slot into the jigsaw, but they are very confident in getting the deal over the line. I think Sheffield Wednesday, at the 11th hour, were trying to drive the price up and bring other clubs to the negotiating table. "But they are very confident now that's it over the line. He's been given permission to come up to Glasgow. I don't think there's any concerns it won't go through now. "They're perfectly satisfied he's about to become the seventh signing of the summer under Russell Martin. "It's always a good sign when the supporters of the clubs that you're buying these players from are a bit upset about it. I've seen some Sheffield Wednesday fans that can't quite believe they're going to sell at about £2.5m. "It points to the issues they have had off the park. It's been a chaotic period for them. But Rangers look as if they're going to take advantage of that. "He's highly-rated from the Wednesday supporters and that's not a bad starting point. "What Russell Martin will need to do now is find another one for the other wing. That will be a priority, as well as trying to figure out what he's going to do about his main striker. "They'll need one of them, and depending on the outs – Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane, at this stage there's still an uncertainty around them – they might need more than one new striker. "He's been busy, that's seven in already once Gassama signs. But still much to do." There have been rumours swirling on social media that Rangers were back at the table, but we understand that isn't quite the case. Jackson said: "I've not heard there's anything in that one. What I would say is Scott McDermott revealed on Hotline Live that Rangers had previously put a bid in which was instantly kicked out. Lennon Miller, I expect to be moving abroad. To be perfectly honest with you, I think the price that Motherwell hope to achieve would be too rich for Rangers' blood right now." Conor Coady, meanwhile, may well be coming in and we understand both the player at Rangers want the deal to happen. But the holdup is coming from Leicester's end as Jackson added: "The Coady thing felt like a fait accomplis because I'm fairly certain that Conor Coady has agreed to this move. "There's a bit of a blockage just now with Leicester. I get the feeling they are holding this up – they've brought in a new manager and what if he'd rather keep Coady? "It's been placed on pause while Leicester sort things out at their end. But does Conor Coady want a move to Rangers, and do Rangers want Coady? That remains in the position it has been for a few weeks now. He is absolutely a guy that Russell Martin wants to bring in." Ex-Celtic star Odsonne Edouard 'made available' for transfer
The frontman has failed to kick on in south London and spent last season on loan at Leicester City. The Athletic reports that the Frenchman is not part of the plans for the FA Cup winners, as Oliver Glasner aims to tweak his squad ahead of the return of Premier League action next month. Brendan Rodgers signed Edouard on loan from PSG initially for Celtic, before that was turned into a permanent deal. It was in Glasgow that the striker, now 27, made a name for himself, before a big-money move to Palace in 2021. Read more: It comes as the Hoops are on the lookout for striking reinforcements to support Adam Idah and Callum Osmand in that department. Shin Yamada is believed to be on his way in a £1.5m switch from the J-League. Meanwhile, Italy Under-21 star, Giuseppe Ambrosino, is said to be another the Hoops are interested in.
