Taylor Swift Reportedly Withdraws To Dad's Side Following His Heart Surgery
The pop star reportedly dropped everything to stick by her father, Scott Swift's, side as he recuperates from a heart surgery he went in for last month.
Taylor Swift has enjoyed immeasurable support from her father and mother, Andrea Swift, since her career picked up nearly two decades ago. He made several cameos at her recently concluded Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift's Dad Is Doing Great In Recovery
The 73-year-old was rushed in for a crucial heart surgery after a routine checkup where the doctor advised him to go for a timely procedure.
The quintuple procedure reportedly happened about a month ago, and Taylor was joined by her mom and brother, Austin, to offer moral and emotional support to the stockbroker.
Sources close to the singer clarified to TMZ that the surgery did not happen due to the heart attack he experienced, but it just needed to be done. Scott's quintuple bypass is performed on patients with blockages in the major arteries that supply the heart with blood.
According to Regimen Healthcare, the procedure involves taking blood vessels from a part of the body and transplanting them into the affected heart vessels to reroute the blood supply and bypass the blocked arteries.
Inside The Early Years Of The Singer's Tightly Knit Family
Scott and Andrea were pivotal to Taylor's success story, as they helped nurture her talent from a young age. "She was always singing music when she was 3, 5, 6, 7 years old. It's Taylor doing what she likes to do," Scott noted.
According to PEOPLE, her mom once shared that they needed to become a safe space for the singer as soon as she started making a name for herself, which explains their involvement in her career to date.
The pair married in 1988 and welcomed Taylor a year later in 1989. Three years later, she got a sibling, Austin, and together they grew up on a 15-acre Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania.
The family relocated to Nashville after Taylor signed a deal with Sony at the age of 14, and from there, she debuted on the big stage at the Grand Ole Opry as a country act in 2006.
Since Scott and Andrea had a solid background in the professional world, Taylor once shared that her name did not come by accident. In a 2009 interview with Rolling Stone, she revealed that her parents chose a fluid name, "Taylor," to lower the risk of discrimination in the corporate world.
Early in her career, the singer noted that her mom would drive her to Nashville and even share demos of her musicians with the public.
Taylor Swift Has Also Been Dealing With A Stalker
The billionaire is equally as passionate about her family as they are about her, and even in the darkest moments of her life, their safety remains her priority. She recently secured an extension to an existing restraining order against a stalker earlier in the month in a bid to protect her loved ones.
As reported by The Blast, the extended order remains in place until July 21, after which a decision will be made on whether to make it permanent or not. Taylor initially requested that her stalker be ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from her home and vehicle.
Taylor was heartbroken by the reality that privacy stands the risk of being compromised by weird fans, but she also understands that it comes with the job. She has also decided not to lose sleep about it as she "can't stress about it more than she already does."
Taylor's legal team, in their petition against the stalker identified as Jason Brian Wagner, provided evidence of disturbing texts from him, in which he referred to her as his "wife" and asked to accompany her to the "Golden Globes Awards."
The Grammy Winner Made Her Red Carpet Debut With Boyfriend, Travis Kelce
In more exciting news, Taylor and her NFL beau, Travis, made their first-ever red carpet appearance as a couple at the Tight End University opening night in Nashville last month.
The artist had such a swell time at the event that she performed her hit song "Shake It Off" on an acoustic guitar in front of an impromptu audience who adored the performance.
The singer reportedly approached singer Kane Brown on stage, requesting his guitar, and took his band through a brief tutorial of the right notes to play for the song.
Her boyfriend also gave an excellent review of the performance in an episode of his "New Heights" podcast with former Eagles player Jason Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end noted that her connection with Nashville as an essential place in her career made it easy for her to let loose and give the audience a well-deserved show.
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Took A Trip To His Hometown
The celebrity couple appeared hand in hand in Travis' hometown of Ohio, earlier in the month, after an eventful June. The performer's latest trip to the Cleveland suburb marked the third time she had visited the area since joining his family for a game in 2023.
This time, the couple had a timeout at JoJo's Bar in Chagrin Falls for a quick bite alongside tons of memories about Kelce's family and the restaurant. The footballer's mom, Donna Kelce, reportedly fancied the Italian-American steakhouse, which opened in 2021, and was a regular customer.
The singer first came to Cleveland in 2018 when she was on the "Reputation" tour, but could not extend the same favor for her Eras Tour. Either way, Taylor and Travis reportedly had a great time at the establishment.

Jill Scott's Debut Album Remains Soulful and Authentic 25 Years Later
Source: Marc Fong / other Today, you don't have to ask 'Who Is Jill Scott?', because she has defined herself as a staple of modern-day Rhythm & Blues with her harmonious soulfulness in her music, poetry and even gracing the big screen. But, twenty-five years ago, a then 28-year-old Scott took the world by storm with her innovative debut 'Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol 1.' The summer of Y2K was in an era that was loud and proud, with releases from Britney Spears, 'Oops!… I Did It Again,' and Nelly's 'Country Grammar,' which was the sound of the southern summer. Philly native, Scott, came out in her realm softly, but not in a way that was quiet or inferior– the neo-soul jazziness and poetic lyricism of 'Who Is Jill Scott?' redefined soul and womanhood when it came to love and 'sister girl' experiences in a way that continues to resonate with listeners all these years later from the 'Jilltro' to the very end. The production of 'Who Is Jill Scott?' was by a Touch Of Jazz collective founded by fellow Philly native Jeff Townes, a.k.a. DJ Jazzy Jeff. While the album offers soulful production and instrumentation, Scott herself doesn't shy away from the real when it comes to relationships, from raw sensuality and sexuality, to summer Philly romances, to taking 'A Long Walk' and euphonious descriptions of 'The Way' love feels– her delivery, along with her spoken word pieces, is natural, sweet and demanding. The album feels like a map of Black womanhood and romantic relationships, from the fan-favorite songs such as the heartfelt 'He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)' to the reflective 'Slowly Surely' that navigates leaving a relationship, and the defensive 'Gettin' In The Way.' Even 'Brotha' that often shows the solidarity of standing behind your own, celebrating the Black man. She lifts up their beauty, power even when the world tries to strip it away. The album is layered not only with melodic grooves, but also real life tales from an artist that throughout her expansive career continues to keep it real. Twenty-five years later, 'Who Is Jill Scott?' is still a reflection of authentic experiences– from joy, heartbreat and passion, resonating just as powerfully now as it did back then. Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez Are Enjoying Their 'Very New' Romance
THE RUNDOWN Months after Jessica Alba filed for divorce from Cash Warren, the actress is getting back into dating—and is enjoying a 'very new' romance with actor Danny Ramirez, a source told People on July 17, 2025. The two stars were photographed returning from a vacation in Mexico, sparking rumors about their relationship. Neither Ramirez nor Alba has commented publicly on their status, but multiple sources have discussed about their connection. Here's what to know about Ramirez and his history with Alba. It wasn't love at first sight for Alba and Ramirez. A source told Us Weekly on July 16, 2025 that the two stars 'were friends before it turned romantic,' and that the actress 'is still keeping things casual.' '[They] have a lot of mutual friends,' the source explained. 'They run in the same social circle, and that is how they were connected. [They] have been keeping things low-key for the last month.' On July 14, TMZ posted photos of the two stars boarding a flight from Cancún to Los Angeles, which set off speculation about their relationship. Three days later, Page Six reported that Alba and Ramirez were romantically involved, though the actress was 'not in that frame of mind' for exclusivity and was 'looking to just have fun' following her divorce. A source told the outlet that Ramirez is 'cool, a nice guy, and he is enamored with her.' That same day, a source told People they were dating, but it's 'very new. They're having a good time together.' Ramirez has built an enviable career in both television and film. He first gained attention in Top Gun: Maverick as Lt. Mickey 'Fanboy' Garcia, and later joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Joaquin Torres in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He reprised that role in the Captain America: Brave New World movie, which was released in February 2025. He had a major television role in 2025 as well, appearing in season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us as Manny Alvarez. Ramirez was born in Chicago on Sept. 17, 1992, and later moved to Miami. 'As a little kid, I was like, 'There's only one thing I'm going to be when I grow up, and it's a pro athlete,'' he told Empire in February 2025. He originally pursued soccer and briefly played at Oglethorpe University before an ankle injury changed his plans. From there, Ramirez enrolled in NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he honed his craft in New York's indie theater and film scene. In a 2022 Interview discussion, he credited that early hustle as one of the times he's worked the hardest. 'Fall semester sophomore year at NYU Tisch. Hamlet, Mark Antony, Hotspur, Shylock, amongst other roles while continuing to audition,' he recalled. Ramirez has spoken openly about the mentorship he's received from actors like Tom Cruise and Anthony Mackie. 'To this day, we text all the time; [Cruise] replies faster than anyone I know,' he told Men's Health in February 2025. Ramirez said Mackie helped him understand the Marvel cast's collaborative spirit early on. 'Being in the MCU is like being in a theater troupe. Everyone here has been working together for the past 15 years,' he told Lewis Pullman in a February 2025 Interview story. For his role in Captain America: Brave New World, Ramirez took his physical preparation seriously, telling Men's Health that he dropped 17 pounds. 'I wanted to look as shredded as Bruce Lee,' he said. Ramirez emphasized that his transformation was natural. He relied on clean eating and intense exercise: 'The entire meal plan structure was around, essentially, how do I sustain doing two-a-days around mixed martial arts and weight lifting?' Before his romance with Alba, Ramirez kept his personal life under wraps. There's no confirmed record of past relationships, and he's spoken more frequently about his passion for acting, family, and fitness than his dating history. His relationship with Alba appears to be his first publicly known one. 'Jessica hasn't been in the dating game for decades, so she is having fun with it right now,' a source told Us Weekly on July 16, 2025. Ramirez has spoken about the significance of portraying a Latino superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In his February 2025 interview with Men's Health, he reflected on why 'it means a lot' to represent his culture on such a global stage. 'I'm gonna be able to tell every story I want to tell,' Ramirez said. 'But what gets me excited—and it took my grandma to realize this—my grandma sent me a picture from Mexico, holding a stuffed toy of Falcon. A McDonald's Happy Meal toy. I was like, 'Whoa, shit.' I didn't do this to get the toy, but the fact that I was a toy…subconsciously, as a kid, I developed a relationship toward characters and the actors who portrayed them. It's incredible to think that could be happening somewhere, whether they're Latino or not—that they connect with me, and it opens up their imagination.' In a February 2025 interview with ESPN's SportsCenter@Night, Ramirez shared how growing up around the Miami Hurricanes football program shaped his ambition. 'What the Hurricanes represent to me is the opportunity and permission to be great,' he said. 'Being around that as a kid is something you can't trade for anything.' He's carried that drive into his career. When asked what he hopes to leave behind, he told Interview in 2022: 'A wave.'

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' Gets a Modern Reboot—Here's How to Watch
I Know What You Did Last Summer is back. Directed by Do Revenge's Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the remake of the 1997 cult classic reunites original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Julie James and Ray Bronson, nearly three decades after they first survived the Southport Massacre. And this time, they're the ones being turned to for help. Released in theaters today, the film introduces a new cast of characters—including Ava (Chase Sui Wonders), Danica (Madelyn Cline), Milo (Jonah Hauer-King), Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon), and Teddy (Tyriq Withers)—who become entangled in a hit-and-run coverup eerily similar to what happened in 1997. When a masked killer starts targeting them, they discover the events of the past are far from buried, and that the only people who might have answers are Julie and Ray. While the sequel honors the campy thrills and iconic visuals of the original, Robinson brings new emotional stakes to the story. 'I wanted it to be something that felt like a twin flame to the 1997 original,' she told IndieWire, adding that the film explores 'what accountability looks like today.' When it came to her influences for the film, 'Jaws was a big one,' she said. For Hewitt, returning to the role came with what she described as 'immediate fear and panic.' She told USA Today, 'Coming back at 46 is really daunting in Hollywood, for lots of reasons. You don't want people to be like, 'Oh, she looks different,' or 'She's aged.' You don't want any of that.' So, how can you watch the reboot? Not quite. I Know What You Did Last Summer is currently playing exclusively in theaters, with a digital release expected later this fall. Given distributor Sony's existing deal with Netflix, the film is likely to hit the platform just in time for spooky season. Before its streaming debut, the film will likely become available to rent or purchase on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV+. And if you're looking to revisit the full franchise, the original 1997 film is also available to buy or rent online.
