Hyderabad: The General Manager of South Central Railway, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, has emphasised a strict adherence to all safety protocols while carrying out infrastructure development works, including the laying of new tracks and signal works. While holding a detailed review meeting on 'Safety of train operations' across the Zone at Rail Nilayam, the General Manager reiterated that shortcut methods should be completely avoided to prevent any untoward incidents.
He also reviewed various safety drives undertaken across the zone to ensure the smooth running of trains and the availability of all safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
Sanjay Kumar discussed the crew working hours and instructed officials to carry out a systematic study and make a meticulous action plan focusing on providing proper rest to on-duty crew at the proper time and interval.
Later, Chetna Nand Singh, Senior Deputy General Manager, SCR, gave a brief presentation on the Vigilance Awareness Campaign being undertaken by the zone from August 18 to November 17. He detailed various aspects to be covered during the campaign period, with the main focus areas being asset management and digital initiatives. Also present in the meeting was Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR, while Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions—Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Nanded Divisions—participated through video conference.

South Central Railway (SCR) officers and staff of Vijayawada division took part in the nationwide campaign of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' in Vijayawada on Thursday (August 7). The campaign is organised from August 2 to 15 across Indian Railways. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya appealed to the staff to encourage people to hoist the National Flag at their homes and celebrate the Independence Day. National Flag should be displayed at all railway stations, offices and homes echoing the spirit of patriotism, Mr. Mohit Sonakiya said. Students and staff of Jack and Jill School, Kendriya Vidyalaya (Vijayawada) and ICON Public School, carrying the National Flag, joined the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' celebrations. The DRM lauded the commitment of railway employees and their role in building the nation. Later, rangoli competitions were organised on the occasion.

South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams at the Godavari and Rajahmundry railway stations. He inspected the Tuni-Rajahmundry-Rayanapadu section in Vijayawada division and instructed Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya, and heads of various departments to ensure proper planning and completion of works in time for the Godavari Pushkarams — 2027. He also inspected station redevelopment works at Tuni, Nidadavole, Eluru and Rayanapadu, and asked officers to follow safety precautions at the work place. Later, he visited the Kovvur station and enquired about passenger amenities. Officers were directed to speed up the works under Amrit Bharath Station Scheme. Officers from the Safety, Commercial, Engineering, Electrical, Signal, security and other wings accompanied the General Manager. .
